Can anyone tell me how valuable sword specialization is for leveling? I was thinking about putting points into endurance and Aggression instead. What's the strat?

Humans are not the best race. As soon as I heard this, I realized that you knew not what you speak of.

I quite like the Draenei priest racials and most of the time you can bait a kick for gift of the naru. Then again i plan to do raids and arena, so best of both worlds with this race.

Priest in a nutshell: Buff up, Holy Fire at max range followed by Shadow Word: Pain, then Wand, or if you have the mana to do so and time to regenerate it before you next pull, Smite and Mind Blast on cooldown for extra DPS, then Wand when they are low and you want to start regenerating mana. Keep upgrading your Wand, especially go and get the Gravestone Scepter from doing Blackfathom Villainy at Level 25, and the Blackbone Wand from vendors in the capital cities if you've been unlucky in finding wand upgrades at Level 41, check the Auction House for good wands every couple levels. Recommended professions are Tailoring for making your own gear upgrades, and/or Herbalism/Skinning for extra money from killing beasts/picking herbs to afford gear upgrades and purchasing missing materials off the Auction House, as well as consumables such as potions, you can even buy your Lesser and Greater Magic Wands to save money from not wasting the cloth on Enchanting which essentially deletes your cloth to level it, which is a pretty sizable money sink that early in the game as you could be using that cloth to make Bandages, or just for straight up selling it/the gear you craft with it for money. Stat priority is Stamina > Spirit = Intellect. If you start as a Dwarf, Find Treasure is a super underrated passive ability that lets you find more Greens from Chests people normally miss which can also contain potions, good equipment rolls can be sold on the Auction House for lots of profit to better help you afford Wand upgrades and even more potions. Desperate Prayer is a life saver as well, and Stoneform can cure the Bleeds and Poisons you can't normally cure. Shadow is nice and all, but Holy into Discipline is really where it is at for increasing your survivability and utility in dungeons and solo content, the only points you need to put in Shadow are Spirit Tap and _maybe_ Improved Shadow Word: Pain. My go to is 5/5 Wand Specialization, 5/5 Spirit Tap, then I start putting points into Holy from there. 2/2 Healing Focus, 3/5 Holy Specialization, 5/5 Divine Fury, 1/1 Holy Nova (which you can use to farm the Lashers in Dire Maul!), finish off 5/5 Holy Specialization, 2/3 Improved Renew, 2/2 Searing Light, 2/2 Holy Reach, finish off 3/3 Improved Renew, and then 5/5 Spiritual Guidance to start getting some Spell Power just by stacking Spirit, at which point it becomes more valuable than Intellect and should be prioritized over it. After that, I go back to Discipline to get 3/3 Improved Power Word: Shield, 2/2 Martyrdom, 1/1 Inner Focus, 3/3 Meditation, 2/2 Improved Power Word: Fortitude, 3/3 Improved Inner Fire, 1/5 Mental Agility, then 1/1 Divine Spirit. At that point you are either going to keep farming dungeons to get money for your Epic Mount or Pre-Raid Best in Slot, then respec later for a build more suited for Raiding, whether that be Discipline for Power Infusion, Shadow to enhance a party of Warlocks, or Holy for generally better healing output.

i feel like 3/3 hamstring and 1/3 TC are complete wastes, 15% root is nice I guess, but its not reliable for escaping, you can easily allocate points to Deep Wounds

Currently level 54 with no professions. It's pretty easy to level in classic wow. Number 1 tip. Don't be dumb.

Shadow Word: Pain is not only a decent DoT, it is the strongest DoT in the game.

Keep atleast a swiftness potion and a healing potion at all times.. they share a cooldown so it's pretty much fight or flight.. heal up and hold Your ground or get the hell out

It is cheaper to buy the wands in the auction house (AH), where you can buy them for 7 silver or less. Training tailoring and enchanting are more expensive.

What nobody talks about with Voidwalker demon builds is what you lose by stacking lots of stamina and focusing on survivability - POWER. You can't kill things effectively with those builds so you get yourself into trouble far more often. Dinged 60 last night on a drain tank with no stamina and all shadow/spell power. Absolutely awesome.

I didn't think Heroic Strike was recommended to use as it removes rage generation from the strike that uses it, hence it consumes much more Rage than the tooltip really shows you. It's a stop-from-cappping Rage ability only.

Why is Human on S races, Human is just nice for raiding content? Like n811 is completly underrated. the Stealthlevel changes much in Classic .

Warriors is fun and you need long test of patience. The fun part happened with higher lvls + gear which warriors scaled super well with. Also lvling with trolls blood goes a long way keeping you in combat longer. This helps sustain your rage.

I have a good amount of experience playing warrior, and it's crazy how fighting a mob even 1 level higher than you is a risky proposition

Drain tanking is the way to go, classic era voidwalker is trash.

I won’t tolerate this Dwarf slander. Human? HC? I have no words. Gnome is decent but Escape Artist has a cooldown and the mob that put a net on you can easily do it again two seconds later. Stoneform legit will save your life. Escape Artist might, Human sword/mace spec will not. If you’re goal is to parse at end game then sure go human. But if your goal is to simply make it to 60 and do some raiding occasionally, any of the other three Alliance races will get you there easier.

Dont discount dwarf stoneform too much. That thing has saved me alot in the early levels.

Swords gives u like +2-5% of damage more, u think its worth? Looks like stoneform gives u more survivability, cause u can use vanish if u bleeding. Or firstaid sacks do the same, like stoneform do?

Warriors are only hard up until level 30. From there they tend to actually get overpowered as they level up. Warlocks are actually harder in the long run.

I was planning to go druid for the versatility, but I'm now very tempted to go priest and just focus completely on healing.

As much as "being careful" is expected of you in hardcore, and as a defensive minded player myself. Being scared and fearful that you make a mistake is a miserable experience. You should be having fun playing this game, don't worry about "not being cocky", just have a panic button or two in reserve if you need it or better yet just stick to green mobs and quests you can sweep without worrying to much. The more you worry the worse it gets.

You choose Dwarf for Desperate Payer and Stone Form, _not_ Fear Ward. Fear ward is a raid thing that will not help you much in leveling. Standard Priest builds might not apply because it's Hardcore. If you are new to the Priest class your first 2 points go into Healing Focus. And if you hate wanding take a NE Priest, Starshard's is great for leveling and Elunes Grace can be used between two shields when you are in a though spot and the mighty underrated eat&drink while in Shadowmeld. ;)
