i'm sure u got ur answer already, but for anyone else for hydross tank frost with the polar naxx set and a pally aura, and in tk just buy a shitload of arcane resist greens and magic resistance potions for a free 50 resist. be a soaker cloth or leather is fine since ur not tanking anything. in my greens and armor kits with the resistance potion i'm at like a 520 arcane resist it's super nice
On pservers we used 3 resistance tanks on hydross, the 3d was me as a paladin with 200~ of each and tanked the adds. It was a comon strat on the server, but I don't know if it was just a private server thing.
retail we used 2 tanks either pala or feral with some resistance or just normal tank gear for the adds. Min maxing probably 2 palas one with full frost, one with full nature would be best and have a hunter md an add that the tank doesn't pick up.
@@intuit13 sure on retail maybe, but on private hydross has more health. Pretty sure 8 years ago or whatever we had less damage and you couldn't do that either.
Haven’t you forgotten about the Kael fight? Grand Astromancer Capernian we use to have the warlock tank with fire res tank her, since you can’t be in melee range of her due to Conflagration.
Two warlocks tanking Capernian juggle the conflagration between them making the fire resistance beyond the Aura or Totem a bit trivial. If you really wanted to be safe then by all means but it ends up costing the raid dps in a very dps intensive fight.
Is there video or article explaining how resistance works in TBC? Especially in PvP. It's been extremely hard to find clear information as many articles are removed, changed due to patches etc. Say I'm fighting a Mage, how will frost resist help? Can even 10 resist reduce damage or do I need 100. Very good video though for TBC content/subbed. Just confused on the resistance formula, someone needs to make a video for dummies and use numbers in a PvP setting and show how it works.
the frost resist gear includes head chest and legs that were actually added in 2.1 (bt patch) so you won't have access to those for hydros progress - did not check on the nature resist gear
Druid OTs don't really need the resistance when almost every raid should have two warlocks to rank 1 banish the adds on the transition making it pretty trivial to cleave the two pairs down separately.
@@patrickmangels9171 I wouldn't recommend it since druids have to pick up random crafted blues, items with gem sockets that can fit Void Spheres (+4 resist gems) and all more awkward gearing just to make it work. @@TheZajic23 In this scenario you're correct, if they have a full set of Naxx frost res. on mother shazzrah you said you'd need shadow resistance gear, but there is no way the dps was doing around 2k dps as in your video with full resistance gear, right? it looks like its the same in every fight on the dps meters
Mother Shahraz week 1 with T5 gear is a whole different ball game compared to when the raid is stacked with T6 gear. Once BT has been on farm and the power levels of the raid climb up, the raid can start *weening off* shadow resistance gear down to ~280.
