For IT to work you have to let yourself get consumed by this whole other world. Build up that map of ideas and terminology in your head. Even once you've achieved certs, that knowledge isn't permanent. You have to reinforce it constantly, do advanced things that force you to walk through the basics again. Even a few weeks off can put you behind, you have to spend days to get back into that mode. Fortunately, this is a very enjoyable process, if you have the time and resources to let it consume you.

What kind of intership I look for network engineer, what kind of role?
@@tamannakhan2579 Any usually your University program has internships
Great analysis here. Looking back at things when I first started learning, I pulled myself in so many different directions to the point where I understood a tiny bit of a bunch of things but didn’t know enough in any of those things to actually be productive. As a mid level backend engineer now, I learn what I know I need to and know that I can pick up any gaps along the way.
I think what I'm gonna do now is, after binge watching the Olympics thru the 11th, minimize my day job which is non-technical to do the bare minimum I possibly can. Then work on a project with the pandas library or if that one's not available choose the easiest one I can find in Python only (easiest programming language). Bill at $20/hour so I can justify it. Work every waking minute 6 days a week. If I get to a point where I have no technical gigs of any kind available, then I'll try to decide on one path only & stick to it. But the reason I did a master's in the first place was because I would start a thousand things. Not two. A thousand. I needed someone to lay the path out for me. Now I just don't know how I'll find a path...
In my late 30s I went for a masters degree in computer science. Finished with 3.95 GPA. Did a software engineer career accelerator after that. Applied to over 2,000 jobs in a year. Couldn't find one. Gave up. Not sure how to break in. Not sure what path to take. Would take any...

How much do you work with Windows Server as a network engineer? I have been labbing it lately and am shocked at how little I would have understood pre CCNA study. But I wasn’t sure how deep the Windows rabbit hole I need to go before digging back into routing protocols that weren’t on the CCNA.
Don’t worry about windows server. Focus on CCNA/other networking technologies. The industry is moving away from windows server as a whole. Systems engineers will take care of the servers. Focus on routing and switching. If you have really strong fundamentals it will pay off even though it’s boring.
I never use windows server as a network engineer that’s more of a network admin workload. But if you work at a smaller company or office you may be required to be familiar with that.
You're right! By the way, do you have any note-taking tips for studying? Perhaps in the next video.

Hi you can’t go back to a question on ccna exam. Once you hit next you can’t go back to a previous question
Appreciate the knowledge brother👍
Any time!
Great Analysis: if one wishes to become a network engineer, then they will need CCNA to be competitive, but if one’s overall goal is Cybersecurity, then Network+ is where it’s at. To be honest, with AI, the CCNA will no longer hold the weight it use to, through “Provisioning” CI/CD, API Integration, Templates, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and Cloud Services. NET+ May be more desirable because it’s not vendor specific, and serves the overall objective. Cloud Services such as SaaS will make CCNA not as shiny as it use to be
Would network + suffice for help desk

@@NetworkWali i will thanks.
CompTIA Network+ is good if you are seeking Entry Level Networking Positions. Network+ is a GLOBAL certification meaning no matter the vendor the Enterprise uses you'll be able to provide network support. This certification will help you move up the ladder in terms of where you are in Tiers as a Technician. The Network+ helps you understand how the internet works, general network troubleshooting, & solving networking issues which is great for an Entry Level Position. Although you may not know the proprietary protocols that Cisco uses you'll be able to identity where the problem is.Comptia Network+ puts you into the field while CCNA is much more technical and suited for higher level Network Technicans as you'll dive deep into configurations and behind the scenes.
So I’m not a network engineer (I’m a project engineer), but I’ve done net+ and CCNA and I completely agree with you that Net+ is easier. However, CCNA is cheaper. everybody should just spend a bit more time and get CCNA. Knowledge is a marathon not a sprint. Net+ taught me theory but when I was put on the spot for the first time to setup a VLAN, I quickly realised that Theory will only get you so far. CCNA made me much more competent and confident. And the knowledge gained crops up in weird ways you don’t expect. NSG’s in Azure for instance are essentially identical to extended ACL’s in Cisco world. I’ve also needed to configure dell, Aruba switches etc and the cli is remarkably close to Cisco. And the commands that are a bit different, a quick ? Will give you in the answer. Just my experience and advice 👍🏻
Yes, the fact that the CCNA is much cheaper, it gives a better ROI and is way more respected in the networking field. I feel like it gives you more real world experience.
Thanks for the tips bro, I graduated from CS 2 years ago and work as a motion designer. Now I'm 25 and I want to persue carrer as a network engineer. Is it possible to land a job as a network engineer with only CCNA without become Helpdesk?
It’s possible but having experience is really going to make your life easier. But since you have a degree In CS you should be just fine. I had a degree with CCNA and no experience when I started as network engineer.
To be a network analyst, which certificates are required
There are no required certs but definitely get the CCNA it’s the highest ROI cert in networking
Set to start
Do network engineers need to learn server side like msa ,azure and so on
@@AhmedMohamed-yv9yq not really but having an understanding of that will be extremely helpful
I agree, I got N+ and AWS CPP last year, the N+ was nothing but a waste. Scamtia N+ test cost more and is respected less. I just passed my CCNA last week and I’m now studying for the CISSP then CCNP Security to become Network Security Engineer at my job. I’m going to get as well the AWS Security & Networking specialty cert on the way. I’ve been a lurker on your channel since you started this channel but ever since I passed my CCNA I can comment now lol.
@@James45545 damn your killing man! I’m looking into the CISSP as well let me know how it goes. And congrats on passing the CCNA 💪
@@NetworkWali Thanks a lot, bro! We’re all going to make it, we just gotta put our heads down in the books and grind it out.
The answer is no. Never. Never ever, ever ever. Never waste a single moment of your life on anything from Comptia. Least of all the Net+.
@@damonaniton I agree if you want to get into networking CCNA is the gold standard. Net + is only good if you want to supplement networking knowledge but even then ROI is minimal.
@@NetworkWali here are the core problems. The average time spent studying the Net+ is in the 4mo range. The average time for the CCNA is 5mo range. The cost of the Net+ is $385 and the CCNA is $300. You essentially spend 1 month more studying and almost $100 less to get the CCNA over the Net+. The difference you really have is a cert that is more expensive and can get you a job immediately. As opposed to some general knowledge about networking. You now know how to actually network. And the false narrative that Net+ is general is not real either. Because if you know how to do it on Cisco you know how to do it on everyone else. Because most of those are a literal clone of Cisco and use almost the exact same commands. Lastly even if the goal is to not be a network engineer. No one has ever been worse off with having the knowledge of how to do anything the CCNA teaches. In fact they are better off for it. The network being the core of everything. And most companies using Cisco devices specifically. Or devices that still use the same syntax There is literally no reason to ever spend any time or money on the Net+
I got Network+ and A+ you are 100% correct.
Hey Wali! Very informative video. Just to be clear are you saying to spend 3 weeks going over weak spots after taking the first boson exam?
Yeah but it really depends on how much you study bro
What’s your opinion on studying for net+ for 2 weeks(2courses) then not taking the test, then immediately studying ccna for 6-8 weeks? You think that’s a good foundation to pass ccna?
@@rion246 that’s a really good idea! Since it’ll give the background knowledge you need. But you can still get the background knowledge from the CCNA so if your goal is get a CCNA taking a Comptia net + course is kinda of pointless.
I did this, but i went through the whole network plus course from professor messer and took full notes, which took about 6 weeks. I honestly really recommend it. I am now going through my CCNA and I feel like i have way more familiarity with networking topics, and i can focus a lot more on the cisco-specific stuff. I tried studying the CCNA a year ago without having done the network plus course and I pretty much gave up from how confusing it was for me as someone without networking experince.
