    I just ordered mine (same colour as in the video- but a 2025 in Canada, so option packages are slightly different than last year). Very much looking forward to making it my daily driver (currently a 2021 Prius Prime, which has been thoroughly reliable for nearly 135000km/84,000 miles and will become the shared car for my son and daughter). Figured it was time to add back some fun into my driving life (previously have had an '83 RX-7, '83 Celica GT, 2000 Miata, still borrow my wife's 2017 GTI). After a 16 year run of two Pathfinders and an Xterra, plus the Prius, I think I deserve something sport-ish. And my fun will be a lot cheaper to fuel with 8 cents a kWh vs 6.50$/gallon (about 1.60$/litre) up here in Quebec.

      Thanks for watching. That is a great list of cars you have owned. Enjoy your Polestar. Very cool car and a lot of fun to drive. Did you do RWD or dual motor? We just spent time with the dual motor all wheel drive and while it is wicked quick the rear wheel drive is equally fun and range is good. The hatch is very useful and build quality is top notch. That dual motor review will be out in late October. It had the leather which was very nice. Here in the US it is not eligible for tax credits so most folks lease. Not sure how that works in Canada. Keep in touch on how you like it after you get it. Congrats and happy (electric) motoring!

    I hate cars' jacked-up prices from the Plannedemic.

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive День назад

      The used car market has returned to normal and high depreciation is hitting new car purchases again. Honda and Toyota continue to keep prices high by trickling their factory output. Unfortunately new car prices will never retreat. Labor agreements and continued supply chain limitations will keep prices up. Discounts can be had depending on brand and model. Ironically, used EV’s are one of the rare bargains….if EVs are your thing.

    We just sold out 20123 CX50 Turbo Premium Plus. Why.. The ride is HARSH and the seats are awful on longer than a test ride. Thinking about a CX-30

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive День назад

      Mazda has softened up the CX-50 for 2024. The Meridian trim level has the higher side wall tires and also rides better. I would say the CX-30 is softer and rides better but is significantly smaller. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Bro you lost me when you said you understand why someone would switch over to a Hyundai Elantra but not a Toyota Corolla 💀

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive 2 дня назад

      Thanks for watching. No mention of recommending one over the other. Elantra was mentioned twice. The context of both mentions was regarding back seat space, which the Elantra has tons of. That and the Civic are really roomy. The Corolla doesn’t do too much better than the 3 on back seat space, but that does not seem to impact its sales. Corolla sales are mainly driven by the Toyota reputation for reliability. But if interior and back seat space is a priority, the Elantra, Civic, and Jetta do well there. Hope that clarifies. Thanks again for watching.

    Enjoyed the content. I did opt for the EX and really enjoying it. For me it was the sweet spot between price and features I would use/want. Coming off of an 09' EX-L it still feels pretty comparable. Comparing the two is like night and day on ride and handling quality, though. This one is quiet and more commanding of the road. Only con I see is the possibility of the 1.5 not being as robust when it comes to sheer longevity in the long term respective to the 2.4.

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive 3 дня назад

      Thanks for watching and for the nice comment! Agree it’s hard to beat that 2.4. We have that in our 2010 CR-V that is approaching 250k miles. Hope to do a long term owner review on that one someday. The 1.5 has been around now since debuting in the 2018 Accord. We plan on doing a 100k review on one we have featured on the channel prior. It’s probably a couple more years before we start seeing a whole bunch of the 1.5s approaching 200k. But so far, other than that oil dilution issue, they should be pretty good. But at the end of the day, it’s still more parts to break. Thanks again and enjoy your CR-V.

    I'm looking at leasing the 2025 Carbon Turbo because it got the 360° camera system & front & rear parking sensors from the Signature trim. I like the Carbon Turbo & Signature the most because I don't like the all black interior in the Turbo Premium. The red stitching doesn't give it enough contrast with all the other black elements in the interior. It looks so montone & boring with the full black interior between the doors, dashboard, seats, & headliner. I like the exterior & interior color contrast in the Carbon Turbo & Signature even though it's more subtle in the Signature trim & way more obvious in the Carbon Turbo

    • @BeyondTheTestDrive
      @BeyondTheTestDrive 4 дня назад

      Thanks for watching and sharing your current shopping adventures. Glad that Mazda added the 360 camera to the Carbon for 2025 to give you that choice. All the best and happy motoring.

    I watched your CX-5 and CX-50 reviews back to back and I will test drive both back to back next week, so very helpful. I did test drive a top spec CX-50 already and liked it except at 6’4”, I found the headroom a bit tight even with the seat all the way down. Will be interesting to see how its sibling compares. Great review style and editing. No wasted time reviewing door card surfaces, size of cup holders, tiny details about the grille, etc - just focusing on the most important things, no gimmicks. 👍

    I daily drive my RF ND2. Twice a week I drive about two and a half hours a day. I have a second set of winter tires with Bilzzak tires which significantly increase the safety and confidence driving in winter, however, the ride is way more harsh than when I am on the Potenza summer sport tires. My car has the Bilstein shocks from the factory and honestly, they are not too bad but the ride can be a bit bumpy as expected for a sports car that is lightweight and amazing when the roads are optimal. I also have a Borla catback aftermarket exhaust which is way deeper in tone but can be pretty mellow while cruising easy on the throttle. Pros: - The car looks amazing to start - Visibility is great - it is quick enough and the steering is of surgical precision. You can change lanes quickly and has all the driver's assisting tech: blindspot monitors, a backup camera with an alarm for incoming unseen vehicles, etc. - I would say that for how small of a car it is, there is a lot of comfort and tech in the cabin which makes it ok for a modern daily driver. - for road trips, I have so far taken the car on 4 h highway trips and it is not that bad if the highway is good quality, it is noisy though. Highway gas mileage cruising at 80 mph can be around 34 mpg. Once you hit twisty country roads it makes up for the highway. - In winter, the cabin heats up pretty quickly given the small size and the heated seats work perfectly. - Very nice Bose sound system - For being a stick gearbox, it is perfect, probably one of the best in the market. Cons: - The sun shields only move up and down which is very impractical, you can get very uncomfortable trying to not get blinded by the sun on your side windows. I guess this could get better if you get your windows tinted. - That being said, if you are planning to have this as your daily drive for commuting on highway and city poor quality roads, this car would not be ideal in the long run given the limited seat positions and adjustment, lack of lumbar support, stick gearbox; even being a perfect stick is not good for heavy traffic. It is doable if you really have the chance to enjoy the car on nice twisty roads or enjoy it with the top down on the weekends, but, I would not have it as a single do-it-all car. - The plastic on the panel in touch with your right knee starts feeling quite uncomfortable while driving the car for a long run, if this area was soft and padded it would be a great touch.

      Thanks for the question. Probably not the best option reliability wise. I am not totally sure but there could be some tuning options to get a little more out of the stock turbo.

    I don't have Options menu, how do I delete without it? I have the same station saved several times from trying to delete it.

    Those seats kill me. I believe for taller folks [6ft+] is uncomfortable

    The carbon, the premium, and the signature all have heated steering wheels… your wife does not have her facts right

      We can only report the information Mazda provides us at the time. Mazda, has at times, quietly added and subtracted secondary features during the model year. This is a 2024. For 2025 Mazda, in the US, has made the 360 camera standard on all turbos and added the heated steering wheel to the premium trim. Thanks for watching.

    The 360 camera comes on the premium as well

    Owned the CX5 and it is just too small. Now I own the EB Mustang. Better car, all the way around. Maybe one day, I can own both. That is a bit of a stretch though.
