    • @jonathanells
      @jonathanells 9 часов назад

      I can’t! The cigarette smoke is the worst thing about BA. My girlfriend and I are constantly holding our breath when out in public. Second worst thing is dog owners who don’t clean up after their pets on the sidewalk. Third is prices of cafes and small restaurants. LITERALLY everything else about this city is amazing.

    I'm going to say something controversial, I'm from Buenos Aires but the best city in ARG for digital nomads is Pinamar. In terms of prices it's similar to CABA, but you have the advantage of being on the coast and the sea, and being one of the safest and with the best quality of life in ARG and LATAM with a very high HDI. Infrastructure (several internet providers, water, sewage) and everything in a very natural environment in a city of only 50 thousand permanent inhabitants. The only thing against it is that you don't have the cultural offering of CABA obviously.

    • @jonathanells
      @jonathanells 2 дня назад

      Thank you. This is INTERESTING! I’ve never heard of Pinamar. Just Mar Del Plata. Something to look into. I would be worried if I could find certain foods and health products there, that would be the only thing. I always feel what BA is missing is direct ocean. Unfortunately, Puerto Madero isn’t a good “oceanfront” area.

      Yes I like it a lot!! It’s beautiful. We will likely return again. I feel bad for many of the Argentinos who are struggling. However, I don’t see that here in Belgrano…here it feels like the locals have much more money than I do - they spend $5000 on a tiny ice cream and $5500 on a specialty coffee. I can’t afford that! That’s much more than in Canada! lol

    You may not find it big because it was built in 1967!! As a “gift” from the Japanese community in the ocasión of the first visit of the Japanese imperial family to the country, the prince heir Akihito and Princess Michiko. Of course it is small if you consider the growth of population and tourism the city experienced over the last five decades. However it is the biggest outside Japan, and it is beautiful if you visit during the blooming of Sakuras trees🌸 If you like open and wide green areas and parks visit Parque Centenario!

    I've been training 3 days a week instead of 4-5 and I noticed a better pump overall (more glycogen retention I assume) and better workouts, more motivation also. As far as sets, I agree with what you said about not putting enough effort and going thru the motions, especially when doing low weight/high rep work, non-stop supersets etc... good point to remind myself to make the most out of it when in the gym 👍

    • @jonathanells
      @jonathanells 5 дней назад

      100% brother, I’d say that is the case. Quality > quantity for training. If you feel better with 3X per week, amazing. It’s also a sign that for 4-5 workouts per week you likely need more carbs and/or calories in general. You’re likely recovering wayyy better now. Personally, I like 4 workouts per week and a ton of walking. I appreciate the comment, let’s get it 💪🏼

Avenidas Callao, Av de Mayo, Av del Libertador, Av SANTA FE, Av Cordoa, Av Corrientes, Av Las Heras, Las Calles de Puerto Madero.Av Cabildo. etc. EL barrio de Belgrano es muy especial, con area residencial, y sector comercial muy concurrido y tienes la oportunidad de conocer en Barrancas de Belgrano la primer estatua de la libertad, ( creada por Bartholdi, el mismo autor de la de NY ) inaugurada en Buenos Aires 25 dias antes que la estatua de la Libertad de NY.

    Hi Jonathan, what's your take on gentrification? I'm talking about the fact that locals are being priced out of their own neighborhoods (or even cities) because they can no longer afford the rents charged in dollars to foreign immigrants (that's the correct term for "digital nomad"). Buenos Aires is indeed a great city, with wonderful food, infrastructure, healthcare and relatively safe compared to other Latin American capitals. However, it's not fair or sustainable in the long term if it's going to be enjoyed only by foreign immigrants who work remotely and can pay astronomical rents in hard currency when locals are barely getting by.

    • @jonathanells
      @jonathanells 6 дней назад

      Hey Carlos, appreciate the comment. Actually, foreign immigrants is the umbrella term, and digital nomads are a subset of immigrants who work digital jobs online and who typically don’t live permanently anywhere. “Nomad” is almost like “no 1 home”. There are 1.9 million immigrants living full time in BsAs and I’d speculate that a minority of them are actual digital nomads. My take on gentrification is that it’s happening in many countries due to a variety of complex political and economical GLOBAL factors, and no finger can or should be pointed at any 1 factor. The world is changing, my own country of Canada is gentrifying as well, but it’s not directly caused by the insane amount of immigrants entering the country, although many Canadians are very angry about the immigration the government is allowing. It’s happening everywhere. The world is changing so I just try not to complain, enjoy my life, and be respectful in every country I visit. The same cannot be said about many foreign tourists in every country. Not really something I choose to discuss on video either. Thanks man!

    I know this is going to seem off-topic or bad-mouthed, but I want to make it clear that enough with the use of "Latino". The real latinos are the romans who are already dead, we only adopt the derived languages, we don't like to associate ourselves with the other latinamericans and the meaning that this attaches in that they don't have a term of their own and they encompass themselves as a single identity, Argentina is a southern country very different from the historical process (although shared) of other countries. I don't want my brothers to appropriate themselves like that either, even so those in the USA call themselves Americans, taking into account that America is a continent not a country, I understand that it is their identity, I get it). It's not that we feel ‘European’, we feel Southamerican with pride, bcause we're really the south, u know what I mean, but of course this is associated with the continent, then the most specific and distinguishable term is ‘Austral’ as well as Chile and Uruguay (maybe other countries more) Why do I say this? Bcause the "Latin" is associated with warm countries, or Caribbean countries or with a cultural, economic, social or geographic hegemony that doesnt show the reality. It's not common to debate this, and it's silly, yea but as an Argentinean I dont feel identified with this term, beyond the language (in any case it is better to say Hispanicamerican, because Europe should also be called Latineurope, spaniards and stuff should be latin too, right?) If you live here that people are seen half reluctant or dubious about this topic.

    • @jonathanells
      @jonathanells 9 дней назад

      I appreciate your response, especially presented in an intelligent manner and with respect. This is something that I’ve learned since coming to Argentina that many Argentinians associate more with their European roots and not with the whole of Latin America, like most of the other Spanish speaking countries in the Americas do. I’ve learned that now. And many Latinos I’ve met who identify as Latinos from other countries often say Argentinians have a different attitude and think “too highly” of themselves, like they are better than other “lowly Latinos”. I don’t necessarily believe that to be true either, but there is an OBVIOUS identity shift here in Argentina. STILL, Argentinians share the love for football, the same types of music (salsa, cumbia, bachata, etc) and many similar “Latin” culture foods. Up North, we are taught that all Spanish speaking countries in the Americas are “Latin America” and their inhabitants are “Latin Americans”. It’s not derogatory or anything. Inversely, Latinos often call me “gringo” which can and can not be seen as derogatory depending on the tone spoken - but as long as they don’t call me American I’m happy because I’m CANADIAN. 😂 because It’s not the same and our cultures aren’t the same, only share similarities. Canada has more live European roots than EEUU. It’s like if I said that Argentinians and Uruguayans were the same… you’d both get pretty mad about that lol

    Hey buddy, nice video! You missed chinatown within Belgrano area, where you can find lots of Asian restaurants, stores, street food and markets. Another two neiberhoods that are becoming trendy are Colegiales and Chacarita. These are a bit more under, when compared to Palermo, or even Belgrano, but lots of innovative cafes and poping up there, and they have a quite interesting art scene as well. Last one, check out Villa Devoto, definately not in the radar for most people, but its worth visiting this residential area with houses from the beginning of the 20s century and a really nice cafe and foodie culture. Enjoy mate!

    Casi todo capital federal es seguro, no se dejan llevar por los que dicen que es inseguro, anda con precaución solamente, pero no te quedes con la opinión de algunos perseguidos

      ""Casi todo capital federal es seguro,"" estás completamente loco. Capital Federal es enorme y más de la mitad, diría NO ES seguro, al menos a la noche. Zonas como Once, Constitución, La Boca.... y muchos barrios del sur pueden ser bastante peligrosos.
