honestly, the fact that conservatives defend child marriage and argue for a younger age of consent while calling someone a pedophile for acknowledging a transgender adult is why I don't have conservative friends anymore. Even the ones who seemed to pass the vibe check align themselves with people who think pedophilia is okay But trans adults are bad. Even the most normal conservative agrees that it is woke to teach children about consent and how to protect themselves from sexual abuse, there's a reason that conservatives believe that sexual education needs to have abuse reporting removed, consent education removed, and we need to bring back abstinence only. They know that child sexual abuse has been statistically proven to coincide with poor sexual education outcomes and conservatives see that evidence and think it is a good thing. It is a feature of their ideology that sexual access to children is expanded. When I say that trans children are valid and sex should be between people who are of age, I get called a pedophile but when conservatives say that the age of consent needs to be lowered and trans people are pedophiles, there isn't a pushback from anyone who isn't left leaning.
