Windmill is very hard but no more bad guys is definitely the hardest deathwish excluding seal the deal. Mustache girl ex literally took me over 290 attempts. Nearly 300 attempts absolutely broke me but it was so worth it. This fight is so incredibly fun and engaging and is one of my favorite bosses in video game history. Windmill was an absolute menace too though.

I do agree that Goumang is prob the weakest boss fight but the aftermath of it is where the story REALLY hooked me I feel like piecing together the complexity of Yi's own motivations and morals is just as much a part of the story as the actual like current events of the plot And having him just Fate Worse Than Death one of the boss characters in such a coldhearted vindictive way is such an attention graber. Like I know these guys are a bunch of fuckers but you're kinda scary Yi.

I started playing Nine Sols after my sisters both played it and highly recommended it, specifically saying how great the boss roster was, and I can say I absolutely wasn't dissapointed. While it certainly has its low points, Nine Sols definitely has some of the greatest action bosses I've ever faced. The thing that really sticks out to me is how diverse the roster is as well, with Jie Quan being a masterclass for the classic Big Strong Warrior archetype of boss, while throwing in plenty of his own DNA (literally). Lady Ethereal is easily my favorite execution of a cloning boss ever, no contest. Fuxi and Nuwa are a super cool way to do a duo boss as well, and what can I even say about Eigong. Eigong is just a perfect final boss, and a perfect execution of Student vs. Master. Nine Sols was absolutely a highlight of the year in an already really great one for games.

Having beaten this game twice on normal mode ( I literally replayed the entire game so I could fight Jiequan without the poison ) my list would go like this , and also I will give them a tier ranking . 9 - Kanghui - E tier ( I really disliked this fight , its just a mob killing simulator and you can get overwhelmed , it can feel pretty cheap ) 8 - Goumang - D tier ( unlike Kanghui this is a SOL boss and I expected more , a disappointing fight and one I did not enjoy but it isn't that bad unlike Kanghui ) 7 - Yanlao - C tier ( a decent fight , its an ok fight just mediocre across the board ) 6 - Yingzhao - B tier ( this is where the boss quality starts to shine and definitely takes a big leap forward , a great tutorial boss , challenging for such an early boss and definitely makes sure you learned the mechanics of the game , its an early skill check similar to Father Gascoigne from Bloodborne and I am glad they didn't take it easy on you early on and showed you what to expect from the game ) 5 - Fuxi and Nuwa - B tier ( a good fight but it does have some issues imo , the first phase is a bit too easy but Fuxi definitely hits very hard if he connects , the second phase is more enjoyable and a lot more difficult in comparison when Nuwa starts using her magic flute to assist her brother but it also adds some problems like overlapping attacks between Fuxi and Nuwa's magic , good thing we have the bow and can stun Fuxi or this fight would be a lot more annoying to deal with ) 4 - Ji - B+ tier ( While not that difficult of a boss I like Ji's design and the atmosphere of the fight , it can get a bit repetitive but its still a fun fight , its a more aesthetically pleasing fight rather than a mechanically challenging fight which is fine to have a boss like that ) 3 - No poison Jiequan - A tier ( This is where the boss quality takes another leap forward , Jiequan is a challenging and fast paced boss that has some mix ups and will make sure that you use the new unbound counter ability that you learned or it will make the fight a lot more annoying to deal with , not only will there not be fire to deal with but he will be stunned giving you time to do some nice damage , at times he will try to make distance to heal so you want to disrupt that fast , p2 is more fun when he starts teleporting so you have to be prepared as he can use any close ranged attack he wants ) 2 - Lady Ethereal - S tier ( This fight takes it another step further , a phenomenal and very challenging fight , the second hardest boss easily in the game . The first phase is basically just a prelude on her attacks and what to expect , its when p2 starts that things ramp up , this phase is difficult until you learn how to properly deal with it , she doesn't show her face so you will not be able to distinguish her from the clones so attacking the clones will eventually reveal the real one and then its best to place a talisman and hit her with an arrow , phase 3 is the opposite , she has 3 times more clones and attacking them will get you hit as they are coming much faster so here she shows her face so its best to wait for her to reveal herself for you to punish her , I also like that massive red orb attack she has , you know she is about to absolutely nuke you unless you dodge it properly , I really like how you are suppose to approach p2 and p3 differently but it took me a while to figure that out , I also really like the horror atmosphere in this fight , not much more to say this boss is absolutely phenomenal .) 1 - Eigong - S+ tier ( Who else could it have been , possibly the best indie boss I have ever fought , she really makes sure you have learned all the mechanics in the game and will test you to the limit , she is the hardest boss which is to be expected but still very fair , her first phase is moderately challenging and feels more like you guys are warming up for the real deal and that is what p2 is , p2 imo is the hardest phase of this fight , she has a lot of health , will make sure you use that unbound counter a lot and will do some mix ups , p3 is the climax of the fight , she goes basically anime here with those new attacks where she blitzes across the screen and slashes across the screen and she retains her abilities from p1 and p2 , this fight truly is the pinnacle of this game and about as fitting as game can end on such a high note ) Overall the bosses in this game are excellent with a few exceptions and much better than I expected them to be before playing the game , hopefully this game gets a boss rush down the line as I would love to do them over and over again in a gauntlet .

I have yet to play Nine Sols but it looks really fun. I think I might watch somebody play it because I don't think I'll be able to stomach playing the game but this was a really fun video to watch and made me interested in Nine Sols

Jiequan cannot be beaten before the jail section. He basically doesn't have a health limit and the fight will continue until you missplay or give up.

My list goes Kanghui, Goumang, Yanlao, Jingzhou, Ji, Fuxi and Nuwa, Jiequan, Lady Ethereal, Eigong. It's absolutely insane to think this is this studio's first action game. Nine sols is a worthy Sekiro 2 for me, and criminally underrated both in gameplay and story. Exceptional analysis of all the game's bosses!

I highly reccomend Dr. Robotnik Ring Racers. Is complex and intense and get so much content like 151 tracks. Algo Nightmare Kart is more like Twisted Metal but with a bad IA and kinda less fun but not as Vigilante 8.

[Warning, spoilers in the full comment] One of the things that I found myself loving about this game's story is how it utilizes multiple villains. Zokket is intentionally a pretty one note character, but there's more dimension to him because of how he contrasts with the Extension Corps and his other minions, as well as how the threat they represent contrasts with Bowser's army. Seeing that an island Bowser captured is actually happy with the arrangement because Bowser and his minions are surprisingly nice when Mario isn't involved was an interesting setup, and comparing the way Bowser's minions talk about and serve him to how the Zok Troopers are terrified of the plans they're forced to be part of was a surprisingly understated extension of the game's main theme. It's also just cool when there are multiple antagonists that don't like each other and also don't like you. Related to that portion of the game, Buddy's friendship with Bowser Jr is like, one of the only times I've enjoyed Jr as a character in anything. It's simple and I could pretty much always tell where it was going, but the scene between them during the epilogue did get to me anyway. The rest of the comment is long enough that I can talk about Reclusa a little, now. Personally I feel like his presence completely makes up for Zokket's deficiencies. The reveal that Zokket is nothing more than a brainwashed persona that exists solely to reawaken Reclusa and then functionally dies made the emptiness of his character a lot creepier in retrospect. He doesn't have much of a personality because he's not a person at all, the perfect proxy for a being that hates people. Reclusa himself is a much more entertaining villain, and while I wish he had more time, the time he did have was not wasted. I can't help but feel like he makes such a strong impression because his manic and gleeful sociopathy contrasts with Zokket's completely stoic demeanor, though. Suddenly having to deal with such a different *kind* of evil when you weren't expecting to and all.

I don't know if I've ever been happier about a game just simply existing. This might have been my single biggest Nintendo direct pop off ever. I am just so so happy that this game is real... and I'm so so sad that I won't be able to play it until Christmas. I am ecstatic to here this is the triumphant return the series really deserves and I am going to play the absolute hell out of it once I get my hands on it. The plug system looks phenomenal and the enemies and combat look really great. Seeing this level of expressiveness in this fidelity just fills me with so much joy. This is exactly what I'd always pictured when I imagined a new, modern M&L title and I couldn't be happier!

I think that I laughed the hardest reading the dialogue in this one than I did with any of the other ones.

the story is that the new characters are actually characters in the story, what I mean by that is that the characters do actual things that help Mario and Luigi and they actually have backstories. with the exception of the villans and a few small characters, although funny, in the previous games characters are only there to tell what Mario and Luigi have to do to save the day

The button mapping is tied to A. The DS games and 3ds use A for Mario and B for Luigi. Hrck, Baby Mario and Luigi use X and Y. And know Luigi moves all alone and plays as a NPC. Why change it now?. If its falling as Luigi just make where he doesn't as long as Mario don't . long time fan here . Noobs can play like the first time.

I think Brothership is pretty and a grower. I wasn't expecting much with certain critiques shared with the game, but I did find some aspects to be the opposite of what they said. I think the humor is just as good as the previous M&L games and the unique setting and character species helps freshen the game. I think Brothership has the best quality of bosses and puzzles, which is really nice and I didn't expect myself to love the puzzles this much. As for criticism on the game, I feel like mine leads to nitpicks since the game works as intended almost all the time and I keep unfairly comparing Brothership to other $60 rpgs on the switch. The only big complaint I have are the load times, but I feel like that's more of a switch problem than the game since other games have that problem too on the switch

brothership is a worthy revival of the series and really pleasantly surprised me! The writing is admittedly a step down, going from S tier with BIS to I'd say a solid B tier. It's still *Absolutely* got its moments but I agree that zokket is one of the weakest villains in the series (extension corps are best boys tho) and the writing really takes some time to warm up. The combat, however, is a big step up. This game has a downright showstopping boss roster, incredible mechanics in the form of the Better Than it Has Any Right To Be plug system, and all around exceptional enemy roster. This game didn't feel like a tired remake it scratched that M&L itch, while also feeling fresh and different! This game's still not quite on BIS's level, Inside story is still unquestionably the best, but it stands proudly alongside the rest of the series! A proud 8.5/10 from me!

Great review. Got this game a few days ago on PS3. Haven't played much yet but I was surprised that my character can talk, rarely see this in games with fully customized protagonist. Aslo the graphics looks good

I love sparks of hope so much that it is one of my favorite games ever. I would always accept Mario + Rabbids into the Mario rpg series

Kingdom Battle is a much tighter experience compared to Sparks of Hope but both have a great sense of character. The former has such fun gameplay especially in the challenges.

I still need to get around to these games sometime, or at least Kingdom Battle. These games do seem really interesting to look at as a pair because they really seem so different in terms of overall mechanics. I give Sparks of Hope props for trying new stuff and setting itself apart, even if some parts ended up worse off for it. The greater weapon variety seems really cool, and some aspects of the combat seem good on paper, its a shame that it couldn't really come together in the end. Nice to hear the dlcs really kick into high gear though. It's still surreal how well these games actually did turn out, considering, well, Ubisoft. Love seeing these kinds of series comparison vids and can't wait to see what's next!

Mario + Rabbids is very different than most tactics game, the 2 most important mechanics in these two games are movement and cover, you can go from one side of the map to the other side of the map in just one turn, and you always have to look for a cover because you are quite vulnerable without a cover, but this also applies to the enemies. Some games copied that formula, for example Persona 5 tactica

For the Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe There was also The Expanded Mini games with Merry Magoland and the Reason why Metal General and Landia didn't get a Refight in Magalor Epilogue is that Metal General already has a Extra Fight in HR D3 in Extra Mode the Hard Mode for Kirby return to Dreamland and the Rampaging Doomer are the Same amount as Landia 4 Dragons/ 4 Doomers (Also that Super Kirby Clash Already had Landia Landia EX and Palleral Landia (Being Landia being Corrupt by the Master Crown and Looks Lot like Magalor Soul) along with the Masks you can wear of Many different Kirby Ailles and Enemies that are fun Cosmetics and some have there own sound effects and there is new Lore Once You Talk to Magalor in Extra Mode after Getting All 120 Energy spheres and talk to him a third time Magalor Admitted that he Lied to Kirby about a Lot of things mainly being Halcandra is NOT his home planet but when there for a very long time and reveal Magalor true Goal was want to give people Joy and Wish to Make his own Amusements Theme Park and First want to Make being a Shop keeper want to make Weapons and Gear Along with All the Boss Fight (Main Extra and Magalor Epilogue) having there own Pause Lore Descriptions also Magalor in Magalor Epilogue with the Skill Trees as Voice lines for each and ever Level of his Abilities and that not mentioned the True Arena not only has Extra Mode Bosses and all the Bosses Form Magalor Epilogue to play with Kirby and the Other But also Made a Hard Mode Version of Magalor Soul with a New Version of his theme form Magalor Fight with Morpho Knight form kirby Star Ailles 2 Pause Boss Lore and and Attacks Making it the most Dangerous out of any True arena to Date with and new Phase and attacks and a different defeat animations

Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was definitely one of the best boss fights I've ever fought in a video game. 🙂

It's personal preference...but honestly I ADORE Sand Ruins. It might just be the OST that does it for me, but man I love playing on that stage. It's just got an aesthetic that I really really love. The grind rails for Speed class characters give the player a lot of choice as to where they can go. And to be fair to the pathing, Power characters in general are the weakest of the bunch in Riders. It's probably just nostalgia for me, but most of the Hero Side tracks are huge favorites of mine. ...I do agree though. Ice Factory? Miss me with that.
