"Innesti" is an ambient project that focuses on ethereal, drifting soundscapes.

CONTEMPLATE // INNESTI // Ambient Object
CONTEMPLATE is an ambient sound + art object, designed, programmed, and crafted by Innesti.
As an ambient art object, CONTEMPLATE features a light display that slowly ebbs and flows, fading in and out again in a soothing, peaceful manner. The LED colors can be adjusted via several Color Modes.
As an ambient sound object, CONTEMPLATE can be used in one of two ways. In its Interactive Sound Mode, it can be used as an interactive, touch-based sample player. Touching one of the four corners of the design panel will trigger a sample at random from the currently selected Innesti track.

I've been diving into a lot of new and old music these past few weeks, looking for something to help me concentrate... and some tracks from your albums have made their way into my playlist... It made me want to revisit some of your videos... I still remember the first time I came across them... Sounds awesome! Would you say it is easy to get to the softer side of the spectraphon? Or are there only a few sweetspots and it is usually hard to tame?
I think it is pretty hard to tame, to be honest. The module thrives on rich, slightly over-driven harmonics. I love it overall, but don't find it very useful for breezier ambient work.

I'd love to hear more about this piece of music too, how it was created.
There are three pieces here, mixed together. In the first segment is GENERATIONS controlling a few brief samples from some Innesti sessions. In the second one, GENERATIONS is playing a few instances of Una Corda, a Kontakt instrument that is loaded in my DAW. GENERATIONS is triggering the notes, and is also modulating the pan, attack, and effects on the piano sounds. In the final piece, GENERATIONS is triggering a few samples from an Innesti track, "An Ordinary Pause." I don't think I added much modulation there because I liked the atmosphere right away. With samples, GENERATIONS triggers those at "random" times and at random pitches on scale (unless those pitches are modified in the menu) and plays those through to completion polyphonically. With instruments (e.g., Una Corda), it triggers notes polyphonically via traditional Midi On and Midi Off signals, again with notes to the scale selected or the scale created by the user. The interval between note on and off can be adjusted globally, but not on a per note basis.
