Yet another really informative and helpful video Chad. You have been my virtual companion as I get to grips with NINA. Thanks so much for your efforts.

So I got the recommended heat sink today and its currently sitting on top of my MeLE 3 - temp is 38-40C with my 26m in Sharpcap running in a test shot, cap on the telescope, 1600x1200, cooler running to -5C, Mono16 ULN mode. Current load is 8% on Core 0. If I remove the sink... 40-42C mark and this is nothing else running apart from Windows. So the Sink works. Whats the best way to get the sink onto the body work? Thermal paste is great for flat tiny CPU surfaces... how will it affect the bumped large surface area of the pc? Thanks for the video! Ok the temp is now 47-55C. SC off - idling at 43-44C.

If without having a perfect curve like the one you have in your example, it turns out that you have punctual and well-defined stars, how important is it to perfect this curve, I am new to Nina and I come from Asiair?

I'm a new an enthusiastic user of3.1 NINA, but I hacve a problem that I cannot solve, after meridian flip, PHD2 do not invert the guide and the mount goes towards east instead of west... in my configuration, I'm using PHD2 and ASi120 connected direct throug the cable to the EQ6-R mount, controlled by GS Server Do you have any suggestion? Good stuff! With rotation of the camera, do you take new flats (for dust) each time you rotate? Dust on the sensor would be consistent. Dust on the lenses relative to sensor will change with each rotation, no?

I have reproducibility problems using this. I polar align, start 6 minutes off (I was polar aligned from the night before), and got to well under 1 minute. Redid the polar alignment immediately, and was about 6 minutes off again. With sharpcap when I redo polar alignment immediately, or an hour later it's very consistent. If I get within 30 arc seconds, an hour later I get a similar measurement. Granted, 6 minutes isn't bad, and it's great to be able to do this if Polaris isn't visible, but for me this would be a fall back method rather than a primary method.

Great stuff. I have a question. If I am using MONO LRGB sequence do I also need to include a start up sequence ? I keep getting an error that guiding cannot start when guiding is already enable. WHat am I doing wrong?

Another Great vid! At the end, when you show your semi-permanent rig, does the power cord not overheat inside the PVC compartment? Same question regarding the Pi; it doesn’t overheat inside the PVC compartment? I didn’t notice any vents. And if you did have vents, how would you keep the rain out? Hello, but once the polar alignment has been done, how do you synchronize the mount to ensure that the coordinates of the mount itself correspond to the coordinates resolved with plate solving? Thank you

Today I bought my third type of cable, to finally be able to use my mount without the HC. I found out that this last cable that I got today is only for AsiAir.... None of the 3 cables working with my notebook. I'm very lost now, nowhere to see a solution, tried everything. Does the cable you made, will work with laptop too or only with the AsiAir?

Great video for a newbie to astrophotography. Question.. my version of NINA asks for site elevation as does my skywatcher handset. It's around 200m here in Spain but NINA gives an error that it can't reach this elevation. Do you have any thoughts/ideas. Much appreciated.

Own a Quieter3C. This video helped me a lot. I bought the exact same heat sink and everything works as expected. My Quieter3C is way cooler now and the heat sink is in the hot seat!!! Thanks "Patriot Astro".

Hi PA. I have a question about the 10:00 mark. When setting the focal ratio, are you taking into account if you are running a reducer/flattner? For example, I have a telescope with an aperture of 6.5 and focal length of 780mm. But i'm running a reducer/flattner of 0.8 which brings my focal length to 624mm. What would my aperture be? Thanks!

Thanks for the tutorial. I wonder, when running two setups with the synchroniced wait. Can I stop one setup earlier? See when there is a meridian flip, the second rig is pointing in the wrong region of the sky, so in case I dont want to readjust everything i would just stop taking pictures with that. but that also means, that any synchronize command on the main rig would wait forever for a synch as the second rig is out of the routine already. no? A workaround would maybe be that the meridian flip is a trigger to stop both routines and then only the main righ starts another imaging routine.

Two years old and still a relevant video, Chad! Moving from Voyager to NINA (and I loved Voyager for its DragScript) - but I'm discovering (as a result of your videos) that much of what I use in Voyager can be done in the advanced sequencer in NINA - conversion accomplished! I'm using 3.1 Beta.

As time passed, 2024 arrived, and NIN still didn’t have a simple algorithm - to shoot a panorama one frame from each installed plate in a circle and as many times as you indicate in the Progress line. Why then the Cycle and One after another mode? It’s a pity that this only works within one sequence, for example for mono cameras when shooting with filters, but does not work for different sequences when shooting a panorama.
