📝 What's the Difference between These Czech Words?
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.День назад
In Czech, some words have two (or even three) variations, and the interesting part is that sometimes the longer version is more formal, while in other cases, it's actually less formal. My video will help make this less confusing. 🎬 Take a look at the related videos I have mentioned: VÍC, MÍŇ: ruclips.net/video/_Fj2RQKM-hY/видео.html ZASE/ZAS: ruclips.net/video/U8hocfqEmy4/видео.html JAK/ZASE: r...

    Hi Zuzka ! I find your videos very informative and informative but in this particular clip I’ve seen a few grammar mistakes , one was mended but the other wasn’t ( water is an uncountable noun so you have to say one glass of water or a bottle of water but there’s only one exception when you go to a bar and order water you can say a water)

    • @CzechbyZuzka
      @CzechbyZuzka День назад

      Thank you for watching my videos! I appreciate your comment. I'm aware of water generally being uncountable and when I was giving an example of the feminine noun, I meant "jedna voda" as "one glass of water" (but didn't say that...). In Czech, it would be the same thing, we can only count water in recipients. "Koupím dvě vody" would most likely mean buying two bottles of water. "Objednám nám dvě vody" would be understood as ordering two glasses of water. But I know, I could have translated that better (as well as "garlic" and "butter").

      Díky za komentář. Ukazovací zájmena, to je specialitka... V tomto (nebo v tomhle) případě _ten, ta, to_ nejsou úplně synonyma k _tenhle, tahle, tohle._ Samozřejmě, že v hovorové češtině se ta pravidla vzdálenosti od mluvčího trochu míchají... Zájmeno "tento" je o písmenko kratší než jeho hovorová varianta "tenhle," můžeme je tedy přidat k tomuto (a tomuhle) videu!

    As a German, we learn those (4) German cases with the appropiate questions in school as well. We named them at first "Erster Fall", "Zweiter Fall", "Dritter Fall" und "Vierter Fall" and later in fifth grade we began to name them Nominativ, Genitiv, Dativ, Akkusativ. And to this day I use those questions in my head, it helps a lot to look after the right case. Now I am learning Czech and I find those questions helpful, because we can easily find the right case, sometimes I use the German questions rather than the Czech questions.

      Interesting! I learned Gernan very briefly, I really didn't get to learn cases well, although I'm aware there are some. But it makes sense that you would use the same "method" in German. It's good this logic helps you with the cases in Czech as well.

    Zajímalo by mě vědět víc o slovu "snáz(e), proto nikdy jsem ho neslyšel. Protože existuje alternativní forma "snadněji", mám podezření, že existuje taky adjektivum "snadný", a je pravděpodobně spojení s adverbiem "snad"? Každopádně moc děkuju za první video nového roku!

    • @CzechbyZuzka

      Ano, adjektivum "snadný" je synonymum slova "jednoduchý." "Snadný" je více formální než "jednoduchý," stejně tak je adverbium "snadno" formální alternativa slova "jednoduše." A zajímavé je, že existuje substantivum "(ta) nesnáz," čili "problém, potíž," ale "snáz" jako substantivum ne! Takže se lidé _dostávají do nesnází,_ ale do "snází" nikoli...
