Hello and thank you very much for that analysis of the army, I was wondering about the demon orientated list and see if you could talk more about the pick of the Changeling. Since you want the horrors to keep coming back isn't a changecaster a better pick ? Or you just consider for 20 points more you get a better wizard. also I barely see how to use his ability efficiently as I see him as i get clsoe to my oponent for his abilities and eventually die turn ! thank you for your response

As a long time Warmachine transplant, I’m always shocked at how AoS players treat 7+ as somehow reasonable. It’s not. It’s not good odds. I wake up in the middle of the night sweating about rolling a 6+ let alone the 7+. Great video.

Wow I didn't realize that SCE's Bless Weapons prayer, with its chanting value of 6, was such an outlier.

I've struggled to see a path to victory with Tzeentch this edition. This really helped to start organising my ideas.

Incredibly helpful in 1k games when i dont have a wizard and think wtf am i going to do about unhittable manifestations. Did i hear someone say shackles? 😳

Very interesting video. Many thanks! So far, what little i've been able to glean from playing seem to lean towards fielding more two-cast wizards. Playing sylvaneth I came to learn that one lady and one drycha was far from enough to keep up with all the spells and summons and trees one needs to stay im the game. Between unlimited spells, and getting values out of mage buffs, having a couple bigger wizards seem better than saturating the board with smaller wizards like branchwytches. Especially since the smaller leaders may well have fewer regimental options. Would you agree with this, or have i missed anything about how to use smaller wizards? I may well have come to the wromg conclusion, given how i've not yet played a lot of 4th, and so still build lists with the previous edition mindset 😅 With that said, if any sylvaneth players in the comments see this, I do have one small tip to share: 🎉 Use magical intervention every turn!🎉 Wurm, or other invocations, but especially wyldwoods will be so increadibly good to get out as soon as possible. Together with the places of power Jonas describes here, some wizards will be getting very strong casting buffs. You might even (but i have not tried this) deign to summon the trees in chargeable but irritating positions, to try to goad opponents into wasting time on the tree, that otherwise may make a woodland flute wizard (forget name) cast on a +1 or even 2! Wurm has a super dangerous deep strike move which lets it jump out 3" to a enemy wizard. Useful to intervention cast in the backline and just jump in, or normal cast in the front against armies with few wizards to try and force the unbind. It's not half bad profile wise.

Loved the content because many people -including me - are overwhelmed with the new rules (looking at you Manifestations). Is the Priority Target ability (once per game) count for ranged phase and later in melee? Also like shoot-in-combat does it cover all attacks??

Recently started playing my Lumineth and your videos have been so helpful. Is stacking two units of 10 x Wardens literally on top of each other for two chances at strike first against a charging unit a legitimate strategy?

What happends with battle tactic if you don't score it? Is it change by new at the start of your turn? Can you pick it again later?

Nice review as always. With these wizard heavy factions it will be reallt interesting to see how 4th ed's new magic system with fewer spells per lore, and the new 'unlimited' keyword will interact. My initial feeling is that there will be a point after which having more casters will yield diminishing returns, while conversely having too few leaves one without the ability to capitalize on the more compact spell selection. Jusy yesterday I lost miserably with a sylvaneth force that just could not keep up with the summoning of wyldwoods required. With only two mages (Drycha and the lady) there were not even close to enough casts to get spells and trees and buffs on the table. This worked well in 3'd ed, but felt incredibly inadequate, even with the halved lore being available to all. Perhaps an errant intervention to summon the mage eating wurm on my opponent's turn 1 would have been better spent planting a tree. Especially given how i fought against the equally wizard-hating blades of khorne 😅 I can already feel the wyldwood intervention becoming almost a guaranteed part of every first turn for me! One step closer to understand sylvaneth. Thank you again for the video. Your back and fourth almost felt like a television interview, on a documentary or sports channel.😊

Great video, thanks for focusing on the army, not much or any focused content on DoT out there yet! I think DoT is strong on the back of morbid conjuration and Kairos, if morbid/manifestations get nerfed, they'll be mid.

I really love this series, have been thinking of starting a new Idoneth Army to do a different paint scheme, I will say your Black Talon analysis has given me pause because I was going to put her on the regular base as a soulscryer, but now I kinda want to leave the unit intact, decisions decisions. Awesome stuff!

Not a LRL player but on the face of it the riverblade warscroll looks like complete and utter dogshit to my eyes, so I already know this will be a good one.

I’d be keen to see a video breaking down 2-3 good Lumineth Lists. Going into detail about how you would plan to score points, how you would deploy properly to achieve that etc etc.

As an old school Harlequin player, I hate how well these represent what the harlequins should be! Right now I only get the rivervlades to score a battle tactics (which 4-8 is good) before being wiped. I’ve tried charging them but never make the rolls haha

Not sure they must always end in combat. I thought (but maybe I’m wrong) you must end in combat only if you pass through models

Again a great video and from only one experience playing 2 I can back up what you said Jonas. Take their flanks followed by take their land and if we had come to a 3rd round this game they had me scored the one with having a unit in each quarter. I bought 2 already... Even if I was heavy hit by the all the warcry stuff swapped out this edition (for me 11 units went out...) I guess with tyrion coming I rebase them and its fine. Models are great and yeah... They will be up in price but the time we have, we will use it😁

Yeah these guys are so good. Amazing utility and like you said the damage is pretty decent into the right targets.

I have enjoyed using them to assassinate low wound characters or finish off larger characters but you've got to play them well.

debating getting a box of these, but as I need to build my Lumineth army I might hold off if theyre gonna get legendsed

Thank you for the breakdown. I for one love that there doeals not seem to be any five star units that are just better than every thing else in the book. It speaks of nice internal balancing ^^ On a side note, i also like how you are careful with using the star rating system as a direct hierarchy. Listening to the ways three, or for that matter, two-star units can be fun or useful feels very much in line with how I like to play. Take care, and as somebody else already suggested, see if you can't wrap your head around the Sylvaneth. I sure haven't yet 😅🌳

Thank you for this series.I think it has really great value,especialy for someone new to the game or one that didn't figured out new ed. yet because,boy,it changed a lot imho. I really like the way those units are broken down,showing their true value in list.And I love the bonus,I was thinking about buying those minis for Lorai as alternative sculpt for soulscryer but now there can be another reason to collect Blacktalons.

Same quality I have come to expect. Looking forward to future breakdowns of other factions. IDK is my thing, but this 3 part series was so informative I would love to hear about factions I don't play or are considering down the road, just because I know I can rely on them to provide detailed videos arming me with great info to base decisions on. What do I want next? Skaven. But ultimately I don't care. The IDK series has proven to me you can be relied on for great AOS info.

I'm testing out one shark in combo with the Sylvaneth RoR. That ought to keep big models from charging at all.
