I actually liked the movie mostly because it probably gave us the Dr.. Banner that is closest to the comic book version. I admit I sometimes find it annoying when people say things like: "Of the (three) live action versions of Dr. Banner- Eric Bana, Edward Norton, and Mark Ruffalo- which do you like the most?" My response is: Of the (four) live action versions of Dr. banner, the one I like the most is Bill Bixby.

So some of the timeline stuff you do have to just say "A Wizard Did It", but Mystique dying in Dark Phoenix before she can appear in the original trilogy can be explained by something the producers of the films made sure to emphasize after Days of Future Past came out: The timeline change in that film makes it so that none of the films made before DoFP ever happened, aside from First Class, since that was a prequel to everything. Mystique doesn't have to survive to be in the original films, since those films never happened, and she didn't show up in the new timeline from the ending of DoFP.

i never really watched him all that much but the far from home video was just hilariously overly dramatic and his vibes are just so totally not mark levels of pretentious that i made sure to steer clear of his videos forever because of it, i get being hyperbolic is so he can make a point about how much he disliked it but there's a limit before you just sound insane, who gets ill watching a film they don't like

My favorite timeline shenanigan is the Phoenix Force, it’s Both Genes inherent unleashed ability, and a space god entity thing. It’s not a mix, it’s not one or the other, it’s both. In X 2 it’s space bird, in X3 it’s DID unleashed full potential, in Apocalypse it’s Gene”‘a repressed abilities but also some prophesied deity? And then in dark Phoenix gene has unleashed power and it’s a space bird. It’s all stupid it’s all contradictory. They can’t even decide how to show her powers, is it invisible? Does it make her eyes and veins dark?? Does she burst into flames? Is there a purple glow and wavy hair with skin cracks? 😂

Queen also has compelling character drama. I mean, one of her attacks is her yelling out "DRAMA!" and making a bunch of internet users yell slurs at each other, what more could you need

X 1 is mid with plenty of plot holes. I hate x 2 nothing happens, the whole movie is centered on figuring out Wolverine’s origin only for us to find out jack shite by the end. X 3 sucks.

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion but I don't like the Quicksilver scene in Days of Future Past. In his scene in the previous movie, he's moving normally and the rest are moving slow, but in the scene in Future Past, everything is slow and he bursts into super-speed inside the slomo, which annoys the hell out of me. Would be better if he was just running at normal speed while everything else was in slomo, just like in the previous one.

I always found it odd that they make Mystique come out naked in front of Charles and we're, what, supposed to not think it's weird she's fully naked? Are we supposed to think Charles is being anti mutant, when it makes much more sense that he's weirded out by his nude stepsister? This is why the obsession with matching the original trilogy sucks because she could've come out in clothing but nope - random nudity

I always figured the Dark Phoenix thing came out of Logan. Like Fox realized that they could make an X-Men movie that (based on title) had nothing to do with X-Men and still set it. Also I got the sense pre-release that they were going to try to make this feel more like a drama, then the production went to hell in a handbasket and the film came out boring.

As a Millenial who was a teenager when X1 and X2 came out I sincerely cannot understand your criticisms of those movies. Sure it is nice that Super Hero movies eventually started to embrace tropes, but those early movies lend a tone of believability that for whatever reason filmmakers have given up on.

i kind of have to disagree with the phoenix saga being a simple story to adapt. id say its probably one of the most complicated. not only do the xmen have to go to outer space, there is also two entire alien civilizations that need to be explained and you definitely cant rush that part of the story. not to mention professor x's alien girlfriend. not defending x3 here but id say its pretty tough to adapt by any standards.
