Apologies if there’s some wacky editing here and there, this was the first video I edited in a new editing software, and I’m still getting used to it. Hope you enjoy!
My conclusion after watching this video is summed up as: Everything else: violence and gore is used for sceptical. We revel in the violence. The blood ads impact and excitement to the action. Invincible: gore is used to show and highlight how FRAGILE everyone is. Compared to omniman, everything is a tiny little puppy with no power. No control. And that’s terrifying.
I love this show because even when its showing me over the top blood and gore, I never feel desentisiced to it. I feel the full weight of the lives being lost. Fantastic analysis. Between this and your Spider-Man video, I really love the work your channel puts in. Hope you continue to grow and get more subscribers!
I haven’t watched Invincible, so maybe my conclusion isn’t entirely correct, but if I understood the video, Invincible deglamorizes its violence not just through context, but through consistency. Every death is treated as real, brutal, disgusting loss of life, not just when it counts (like Suicide Squad) but every single time. Never once does it play the violence for laughs or spectacle, it is always real and in your face, not just visually but emotionally. Because of this, the viewer is unable to subconsciously discount or become desensitized to the violence depicted, because the show does not give any opportunity for it.
i wonder if there's a market or something with regard to military themed movies. a lot of times we watch a movie set in a war and people just run and fall down when they get shot. We (i hope) know that getting hit with a sniper rifle isn't just falling down with no blood splatter, but it is fine to watch a movie where an army guy kills a pile of foreigners as long as the movie theme is western country good, or our own morality good It would be quite another thing to watch a sniper blow off an armed combatant's leg and watch the armed combatant crawl around screaming in pain. it would be quite another to see people's skin blasted apart and burnt from shrapnel and such. even in animation I don't have an idea of this happening off the top of my head. I'm just saying we need something like invincibubbles, but a deconstruction movie or show that showcases the horror of war and imperialism. As to the actual show itself, I really enjoy it and never thought that i would. It even does a better job than the comic in highlighting that visceral brutality, which is the #1 reason I haven't finished the comicbook.
I think a lot of movies have been leaning in that direction more recently. From what i've heard of movies like All Quiet on the Western Front, we're seeing the violence of war be more emphasized and hi lighted. Would love to see it more tho!
love ur vids but for the love of god stop with the discord calls every one of these video essay ass vids always has a discord call where the dude asks his friends what they think and im like yo can we move this along 😭
as someone who is also pretty squeamish, this show fucked me up so much. ew sticky gross indeed. on a more serious note, there's no way i would've carried on watching a show that got so visceral in episode 1 if it wasn't an excellently made subversive love letter to the entire superhero genre. eagerly awaiting both season 2 and any thoughts you may wish to share on it when it happens

Props to the dude with the Giga Rex pfp
This needs way more attention than what it’s gotten.
If hes called invincible....
Then why can I see him?
I think that you may have some wacky spelling
Haven't caught an upload in a while glad you're still at it! This show messed me up and made me rethink animation a little bit lol
It does seem to have that affect on people

Thank you!
Good video. Hoping invincible season 2 is gonna be just as good
Here’s hoping!
Apparently a R34 animator will be involved who happen to be a expert on peak animation itself as well
@@Spectre2808-z9v this is true! They animated the teaser that came out a few months ago
