Hi, my name is Stephanie and I've been working with fabric since I was very young. It's one of my favorite mediums. Of course I also enjoy a great bargain, so thrifting and upcycling has become a fun way to create affordably. I've always wanted to share this fun with others and that's why I've created this channel.
So I'm going to B.Stephanie and you b.you.
Let's have some fun. ;)

Do you mean the waist? I’m afraid I didn’t do a video but sewed in a little bit of wide elastic to help with the size. Sorry. I am working on another tie project though 😉
@ No, this got posted on the wrong video, sorry🙃!
@ 😜 that’s cool
Thank you for the inspiration. I upcycled my jeans with Christmas ties. Bring on the holidays.
Great idea!! Love that 😉
I recently found your channel. I've watched a half-dozen video maybe. All the projects were things you made for your own wardrobe. As you give instructions for this shirt I heard you refer to "just like I did for my granddaughter's dress", I don't have any idea what you are talking about. I know this is an older tutorial, so perhaps you are better at narrating your content now. I only bring it up so that you can improve your content. Another thing I want to point out is your volume could be higher. This comment isn't meant to be critical just to point out small improvements you can make. The lace and chambray look great together.
Thank you and yes this is an older video. I’ve fixed the volume issue and hopefully gotten better about my how I talk about the project. Please check out a newer one from the last couple of weeks and let me know what you think. I appreciate the feedback 😉
Thank you. I picked up a really nice men's shirt a couple of months ago, I love the pattern on the fabric, but I had no idea where to start in making it over. Genius using the other pattern piece to get the armhole right! Thank you.
Happy to help! Have fun with it 😉
Beautiful
Thank you
I think it looks slimming with the elastic. Great video, as always!
😊 thanks
Excellent 😊🇨🇦
Thanks 😊
Its cute. Regarding the seams. I would have ironed the jean seams over half inch, then place on top of the striped dress where you wanted it. Then top stitch the demim with 2 lines to make it look like a typical blue jean flat felt seam. Then, cut the striped dress off on the inside.
Good idea! Thanks 😊
Very cute!
Thank you! 😊
❤
😊
Nice! I have some of that fabric too😊. FIESTA🎉 🧵 🪡
It’s fun fabric 😊
Great items
Thanks
You still can totally rock the elastic under girls!! But thanks for the heads up....great tutorial
😂😂😂 Thank you!
Ke the idea of denim and lace.. interesting companions! Thanks for the idea.
You are so welcome!
You're SO GOOD
Thanks 😊
It’s a very cute top.
Thanks 😊
Very lovely! What type of blue market do you use?
It’s a washable one but I’m not sure what brand. You could even use a kids washable marker. 😉
Love what you do...IM TOO SCARED TO TRY ..I MADE A LUCY DRESS FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER...SO I KNOW HOW TO SEW...ITS JUST WILL I LOOK RIDICULOUS...SMH
Don’t be scared and use inexpensive thrifted items to get your practice in. You can do it. 😉
Well done. Appreciate the short
😉
If you could have made it longer, it would have made a beautiful dress. It is a cute blouse. However, I don't look good in black. You do look good in black (lucky lady). Thank you for the free lesson and video.
Thanks. I thought about the dress idea when I saw how long it came out. Even thought about shortening it. 😊
Very cool! Great idea❤
Thank you! 😊
❤ ❤❤i like. Super cute idea! And great use of six items that would have been discarded. Now we know what to do with left over ties and sheets! 😂😊 I love the ties on denim. Looks so retro! 70's vibe. 😎 Fabs!! Tfs.
Thank you 😊. It was a fun project.
Hi Stephanie, My name is Judy. I am new to your channel. Love your content. Thank God for Utube...that's all we watch. Television is sooo bad these days. I appreciate all you do for us, just love learning how to sew again. Thanks so much❤
You’re so welcome. Thanks for watching 😊
Cute!❤️
😊 thanks
I think it's very pretty
Thank you
this is a great idea and they turned out so cute
Thanks 😊
Cool idea. I have thrifted a bunch of jeans which all seem to be to small in the waist/hip area. Like you I really do need to be wearing my glasses when I shop. I'm looking for a way to get them to fit, but I'm not necessarily wanting to add any flare, some of them have enough of that already. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.
Well you can add some small wedges to the waistline without taking the fabric all the way to the hem. I haven’t tried it yet, but maybe I’ll work it into a project 😉
@@b_stephanie Would love to see that project.🙂
You can also unfold the ties and remove the facing. Then you have a pure silk stripe.
I have some plans for that process. I think it will make the project lighter and more fluid too. Thanks 😊
Adorable!!!
Thanks
Love the idea about the interfacing. Gives it a tailored look. The dress at the beginning of the video I own one too. Are your armholes on that dress huge? Mine are, can see my bra there when I lift my arm. So its another idea for a video - sewing up panels for armholes that are large?
Yes! Thank you! That’s a good idea. I haven’t noticed mine being larger on this dress but I have others I could fix. 😉
@@b_stephanie thanks! something that drives me crazy lately.! And just trying to figure out an easy way to remedy....can hardly wait if you come up with anything
How tall are you? But great idea...
lol, I’m 5’2” on a good hair day 😉
Your results are look awesome. Thank you for showing us. ❤
You are so welcome!
I'm so glad I found your channel. I like the way you explain how to do what you are doing, and I like your style of presentation. Thank you! Can't wait to try this!
Thank you so much! 😊
I love the look of pressed cotton.
Me too 😉
I bought a lot of old ties at thrift shops to use the fabric - only the tie fabric; I was amazed at what was inside ties! - for the lining of a rain poncho. You have given me another way to use ties - to increase the size of jeans. When I`m thrifting, the size is what it is, there are no other sizes. If I like the colour, fabric and other details, I can work with it. Even if I thought it was awful as a tie, it might be great down the sides of jeans
I’m glad this helped. You have fun with it 😉
Loved this project
Thanks
Hola me encantó el cambio que le diste. Ese arreglo quedó genial. Me gusta lo jovial que eres. Muy alegre . Un beso desde Uruguay
Thank you so much 😊
2 Ties are to much, big flare pants will not last long in style 1 is enough
That’s the beauty of these projects, completely customized!! Have fun with it. 😉
I love this. Great job!!!😄
Thank you! 😄
Very nice
Thanks 😊
Can you do a jacket that's more simple ....even folkier?
👍
Cute jacket! Too new fangled for me. I am not that patient.
I want to do something easier. I’ll be working on something
I love this idea. I have been trying to figure out the best way to attach my dad's ties to a T-shirt quilt and this technique of adding them to the backing fabric will do just the trick, I think. I started by opening up one of the ties, which ended up being too flimsy for a quilt top, but with a backing fabric, I think that might work for me, too.
I love the quilt idea. I saw someone use them on throw pillows too. Go crazy 😉
There is an almost felt type lining in modern ties. Open the tack stitches and you can pull it out easily without harming the tie
Yea the vintage ones has something that looked like muslin. But I didn’t open them up. Might with some others.
Love it
Thanks 😊
Love it! Turned out great!
Thank you! Cheers!
That light flare and the contrasting colors is gorgeous with the dark denim and the top completes the look!!
Thank you so much!!
Terrific
Thanks
I love the red top you have on…me-made? I love the ruffle.🇦🇺💕
Nope, but maybe I could give it a try in the future. It’s really just a thick tank top with a ruffle. I’ll think about it.
Very cool!
Thanks 😊
