Sometimes it's unavoidable. We got caught in light rain the other day and had to quickly turn around. Thank goodness we were not too far into the hike.

@@hikebytes good thing you weren't too far. I was worried about that the other day too. I might go out tomorrow quickly morning. I'm hoping it's not too bad then. I won't be driving up the mountain though.

We are so glad you enjoyed the video and hiked the trail it's a beautiful place ! As for Slider rock if you are hiking on the trail towards the main fall it's shortly after the first creek crossing which you will pass winter creek trail . It's on the right with a sharp turn down a small slope with a cabin above .. it's easier to see it on the way back from Sturtevant Falls ..then it would be on your left. Hope this is helpful and you make it back there . It's getting chilly for a cold plunge🥶🥶

Thank you so much ! Yes it is very steep in some areas and cables would definitely be helpful where the paths are very narrow . The fallen leaves and acorns are very hazardous in those areas but certainly a beautiful hike and worth it!

Yeah, there is a lot to explore in this area, it also connects to San Bernardino Peak trail. It’s a steep hard incline the whole way, very strenuous hike.

I’m pretty sure it’s dry now, check after a very hard rain this winter or spring to early summer, one commented that spiders have overtaken the trail 😂 it’s beautiful in season

Hiking in fall season will teach you quickly, being aware will hopefully save someone an injury

Just make sure it's comfortable for your feet.

I actually slide the beast 😅I have a link to the full video on this short “Stoddard falls downstream” with a 360 camera you get to see different angles and the plunge into the pool, I show the approach to the slide as well, there many smaller slides making your way there, the landing pool was deep at that time, but you have to check the depth every time you visit before you slide for obvious safety reasons. Check it out, it was a blast.
