Props to Volunteers Of The Los Padres for cleaning up the punch bowls and removing the tagging, looks beautiful! Beware of Poodle Dog plant in our mountains, it's a mean one.
This is great - I've always wondered what's beyond the slide as well, but am never prepared for it when I do my annual hikes there. Likewise, when you take the dirt trail to the campsites before the 1st falls, you could explore upcreek where the trail ends. I'd likely do that only if I were camping just to have a jump start on time.
Thanks for watching 🙌 We were so tired once we got past the waterslide, we will return and go further soon, and check out the stream you referenced as well, a lot of nice pools up that way. One of our favorite hikes of all time.
I have been hiking the Santa Paula canyon since the 1970s the last swimming hole is the punch bowl the swimming holes before the punch BOWL are called the tea cups the rock the Santa Paula creek carved through is called moon rock and on a full moon night you will see that it is a perfect NAME, then if you go up past the punch BOWL the next swimming hole is called Jackson hole and there are more holes farther up and water falls in the upper WATER holes there is also golden trout and at the top of the canyon you will end up on Topa Topa plateau above Ojai
Oh wow we gotta explore deeper in the canyon. We were curious how much further is Jackson hole / falls from the waterslide ? Did you go through the canyon past the slide, or above and around the canyon ? Thank you so much for sharing 😄👏🏻
Thanks for watching 😎 I’m sure you got our recommendation for bringing rope, there are some metal ties at the beginning of the entrance that you can tie into. Hope you make it to the slide next time, it’s our favorite part of the hike 🤩🙌
It was a blast but it is a long difficult hike ! Yes there are water snakes but we only saw one small one lingering around the rocks in the water they are harmless. We did run into two rattlers on the actual trail so watch out for those guys! Thank you for watching😀😀
Thank you for sharing ! Yes ! the life straw is a life saver👍👍This is one of our favorite trails , we always have so much fun and adventure here.. it has it all!! 😀😀
What an awesome place!! Do you guys ever backpack? Because further up you can make it to Jackson Hole, and very few people go there but I’ve seen videos of that and is on my list of places to hike. Awesome video 😎
Thank you so much! We’re going back 🤩, I carried Heidi’s back pack much of the way and it exhausted me, she has a bad back. The canyon is very steep with bouldering after the slide, pretty hard to get around, and you can’t see where to go for the rocks are so high, to go 1/4 mile took 40 minutes, plus looking at all the sights 😃😅
Yes you can There used to be a rope to get down but last time we were there it was gone . You would have to bring your own rope. The swim holes through the canyon are amazing!!! Thanks for watching😃😃
Hi so glad you are watching! 😀😀 We came up the back way . We used the Waze app for the alternative route. The landslide may be gone by now. Hope you can make it out there!!
Thanks for watching 🙌 we appreciate your time. Let us know if you enjoyed this video? 🤩

Had that cave pool slide area completely to ourselves this spring. It was epic.
It's an incredible place and so nice to have these pools to yourself!

I haven't been here for a year, but is there no longer ropes already there for you when you're entering the canyon?
Thank you for watching, They are no longer there. Bring rope for sure 👍🏻
With my luck I’d end up on one of David Paulides missing 411 episodes doing that hike 😂
We started to feel that way 🤣🤣🤣 that's why we headed back
How did you guys get up there because there's a landslide that just happened a month ago the streets got blocked off of Ojai Rd
Hi so glad you are watching! 😀😀
We came up the back way . We used the Waze app for the alternative route.
The landslide may be gone by now. Hope you can make it out there!!
