Building on this theory, the split in the timeline is proof that this is not the first loop of this massive time loop, it has happened at least three times, eachtime the events are slightly different but they always end at the same place. My theory for the next game is that Demise is going to realize hes in a timeloop, and either try to break it and fail, or successfully break it. The latter of which would create a very interesting story.

You have so many details that put together what I always assumed was kind of hinted at in game, but people online said contradicted Hyrule Historia and other information about all the games. I truly think that given how Skyward Sword was ported to Switch, as well as many of the same people working on BOTW/TOTK, it was not a coincidence. I really believe whatever new entry comes out in the Switch Successor while confirm this further. There’s NO reason they ported Skyward Sword for just funsies. (Maybe they did, but I feel like making the effort to put it on switch as a motion controlled Wii game versus just porting Wind Waker and/or Twilight Princess was definitely A Choice™️ and my copium is there’s lore reasons why and they wanted to make sure players knew) Very entertaining video!! this is a solid theory honestly. it would answer alot of questions i have had about not just botw and totk but also many previous games like tp with the oocca. supposedly the dev team for the zelda series have a secret timeline amongst the higher ups that they refuse to show to anyone and they have said the timeline outside of a few minor things is still in full swing and everything is connected but there are so many questions that its hard to ever imagine they really do have everything connected but if this is a true factual bit of information then i can definitely get on board with this. my only real issue so far is still the split timelines and the fallen timeline being more of a what if timeline rather than an actual timeline.

Amazing video. The editing was especially very well done, as well as the theory itself. I am definitely one of the pessimists you mentioned at the start. I loved breath of the wild and all the Zelda theories that came after made me really excited about the timeline. It all made so much sense to me. I think the reason TOTK made me and many others disappointed was the lack of connection to even breath of the wild. First it was the NPCs not recognizing me, I mean hello game you got my horses back, why can’t you look at what quests I completed and give some characters even slightly different dialogue? It would have showed some extra care in would building but no. Next it was the Shiekah tech, where’d it go? No one knows! Focus on the new, cooler ancient civilization, player! Finally it was just the lack of explanation of some of the main story. Where did the sky islands come from? Does the game even explain other than “the upheaval caused it”? I get the caves and chasms came from the upheaval’s earthquake but like that should’t mess with the sky right? Am I insane? Anyway I’m rambling. Amazing video, you tied up a lot of the main story connections I had a problem with, and now I’m just that much more excited for the future of Zelda. I just hope I come across another video that perfectly explains the other stuff I mentioned lol.

This argument, up until about 12 minutes in, works just as well for placing ToK's founding after SS, at, you know, the founding of Hyrule Kingdom found in the rest of the series. The connections with the Sheikah origins or the Gerudo grasslands are the weakest arguments in the video, so I don't think anuthing big is lost, either.

I am only seeing this now, and have been loving learning about all the Legends of Zelda lore. This video is by far my favorite and most solid piece of explaining the overall stories and their connections to each other. Very good work, this will continue to be my head canon!!

I've never put much thought into the poem at the end of Minecraft before. I've always either skipped it, or looked much too deeply for secrets or metaphors I wasn't understanding. Hearing you retell it in this video, I decided to just listen. No analyzing for some hidden deeper meaning, no trying to figure out who the two voices are, no looking for some strange mystery, just listening to what the game has to say. I cried, and I breathed a little faster and deeper, and I began to dream again. I wasn't expecting anything grand from this movie. I wasn't expecting it to be anything more than the kind of turn off your brain adventure that all movies have been recently. But thank you for showing me what we could have gotten.

Best Zelda video I've seen for months. I think that Groose too (dude looks like a Gerudo, there are videos about this) is very special for Hylia's plan. She sent Gerudos, maybe from the royal family, in the sky just in case now that the Ganondorf thing was settled (the gloom Ganondorf).

Ok, one thing I’m convinced of the idea of is that the ToTK temples were the places that Hylia used to protect the four races from demise, and that the Rito stayed up there, which is why we don’t see them in the games until Windwaker where they have evolved into bird people because they were in the sky for so long. That is genius This is the kind of thing that I really doubt that Nintendo planned out but it lines up so well that they should just make it a thing now

I don't really get the leap in logic when talking about Ganondorf looking for the triforce in the depths. Zelda and Link find Ganondorf's corpse below modern day Hyrule Castle, not Rauru's castle. They tell you that they built the new castle on top of his body specifically to stop him from being found or revived, so it doesn't seem like exploring the depths was ever part of his plan, or possible at all, as far as we know. This theory is interesting and is the only decent explanation for the ouroboros in the title, but I think you put a lot more effort into the story than nintendo did

This is exactly what ive been waiting for from zelda youtubers. They wede doing this for botw, but because they got caught up in what people's opinions on the game were they didn't care to do this for totk. Everything made sense and i hope we can get things clarified in the official games.

Nintendo should throw us a curve-ball and make a deal with Namco to add all Link's Soulcalibur II buddies to TotK as DLC. Put Raphael in Castle Town, Seung Mina in Gerudo Town, Yunsung in Kara Kara Bazaar, Taki in the Yiga Clan Hideout, Talim in Rito Village, Yoshimitsu in Korok Forest, Cassandra in Goron City, MItsurugi in Tarrey Town, Xianghua in Zora's Domain, Ivy in Kakariko Village, Kilik in Hateno Town, and Maxi in Lurelin Village. That would do some fun things to the lore debates.

I think the twili, the ancient tribe in MM, and the demons spoken of in SS are all the same. The twili have a clear resemblance to Demise with the red hair, black and grey skin, and deep red gaze. Demons and monsters are also refred to as two seperate things if you look at the recount of the first invasion by Demise. There is also the visual similarities with Ganons ethereal form in TP and the twilight tendrils from the fused shadows in addition to the fact that Ganon used the power of the fused shadow to grant himself another body.

Really great video ! Although I don’t agree with everything, your theory and story telling is really good ! I also think that the Zelda community just gave up on tears of the kingdom. After getting a timeline in skyward sword, people forgot that we didn’t have any official answers on the whole story of Zelda and jt stayed like this pretty much since the beginning in 1987 to 2011. So what I am trying to say is that I really enjoyed the fun and optimism you are bringing to the timeline debate and theory landscape. I personally stopped watching zelda video because it was just about hating on TOTK and how it was better before and how BOTW and TOTK ruined zelda… Your enthusiasm was a breath of fresh air. Um im pretty sure the Stormwind Ark is explained in game, i can't really remember the specifics but it was built by the zonai to help the rito for some reason. RIght? Or did i just make that up

the is the best video i ever watched it explains so much like why the title of totk has an oroboros and i think you literally solved all of the lore in zelda it all makes sence (ngl after this video totk feels like an arg that you the player have to solve) and also to the people that say totks story is a letdown youre wrong

I really like this theory! I think it might be the best one I've heard so far on RUclips, and it certainly makes more sense to me than it all happened at the end of the timeline. However, I DO think you could equally argue that these TotK events took place just AFTER Skyward sword and argue that Zonai tech is based on the tech Hylia made and later, Sheikah tech is based on that. Either way, I totally agree this stuff happened early in the timeline.

Saying that ganon from totk is not the source of calamity because he uses gloom instead of malice is ridiculous. Like, it's clearly meant to be that one is just the stronger version of the other. Ganon broke free so his corruption became stronger. And the fact that ganon was sealed under the castle, so calamity was occupying that same castle?
