OK. I will try to explain my main complain about Norwegian company. They try to deprive you of EASY access to getting services that they sold to you. Everything that you expect to receive is really hard to get. Meals: long lines, small free venues, closed at 10 pm . Entertainment: long lines, low quality or small venues, closed around 10 pm. Boredom is a king. After 10 you do not have many choices. You may drink by the bar or go back to your room. Norwegian thinks that staying in the room, ordering movies on TV and ordering room service is the best vacation for us peasants 😢. If you have kids or diabetes and want to have a small snack after 10 pm, you have to order extremely unhealthy snack. Everything is closed (with exception for one! small restaurant). No choices. Majority of good reviews are written either by the company related people… or people from Europe. They are more tolerant to bad service. Here, in the USA, we expect a good service. Smug Norwegian wants us to fight in the lines for ship’s services or do not provide them to us at all. If you do not request, room service won’t even check your room. 😢 No wonder, more and more people prefer smaller ships with bigger venues or go to different companies.

The selection of the buffet food on the Norwegian Epic was very underwhelming on my cruise in Fbnruary 2023. It did not compare to the Celebrity and Princess cruises that I cruised last year.

Hi--- We have a 2 bedroom family suite booked for JOY/October (2024)... not in The Haven. Does anyone know if this category still qualifies for the Priority Check-In queue or did they take that away and it's only for Haven and Platinum? Silver here... I'll be Gold at the end of this cruise -- MIA - Caribbean.

No would rather see a show. We played on escape my son game in 2nd paid $25 and won a cup☹️

I have COPD so standing in line for a long time on embarkation day is difficult to say the least. Can I get a wheelchair and attendant for embarkation and disembarkation?

I'm a bit confused about the 20% gratuity. Do I pay that every time I get a drink? Or is that a flat fee that I pay on the ship at some point? This also applies to the specialty dining.

Avoid the long lines to get off! We booked a bus tour of the Miami Beach area. We went to the Breakaway theater and were met by the bus tour rep. He walked us off right to the bus for the 2 our tour of Miami Beach and its art deco areas. It also included a quick stop in little Havana. They dropped us off at Miami Intl with plenty of time to make our flight. Definitely well worth it to avoid the lines getting off the ship!

best part of cruise vacations (aside from the various ports of call) is the opportunity to try new and favorite foods both on buffet and in restaurants.

How do you know which nights the shows will be? We like to prioritize pre-booking specialty restaurant reservations, but they often overlap onboard entertainment and we end up missing so much.

I’d love more info on the child friendly offerings like the kids pool, guppies, kids camp… my understanding is that prima and viva aren’t very family friendly. I’m hoping for more from the aqua.

I’ve never sailed NCL. Just Royal and MSC Aurea Grandiosa and World Europa, We’re sailing the med in Sept … I’m counting the days, also I’ll have some + elements to compare the 🚢 food, service, and entertainment( MSC I can’t complain 🎭 💃) RC food was better, though. Thx for your tips😊

Hey Grant. You may know this. I got an offer to "upgrade" to add 2 speciality meals to my reservation for $118.80 (includes the gratuity) but I know you can also do the upgrade within the first 2 days of sailing as well. Is the price you pay if you book onboard for the speciality meals right away the same price, less, more? Someone on CruiseCritic said the pre board price is cheaper but the price they listed was the $118.80 (they said the upgrade should be $82.80 online but mine clearly says $118.80). Thanks!

Cruising with NCL for the first time in November. We got an "open bar" package basically any drinks under $15USD are available, there wasn't any notation about a 20% gratuity. The booking we made said "all taxes, fees, tuos, and gratuities included."

I LOVE the bright bold colors on the Aqua! I haven’t looked into booking the Prima or Viva yet just because I’m not a fan of the color scheme. Maybe in 5+ years after their “newness,” is gone and the prices have gone down, I’ll give them a try. There’s just nothing attracting me to those ships right now. But the Aqua… I’m definitely looking into sailings. 😉

I am cruising NCL Sun July 15. My travel partner just had to go out of town fir a family emergenCy. She is suppose to fly to Seattle for our cruise. Do you know what would happen if I show up but she doesn't. Everything is paid for

It's our favorite ship so far. In Feb will make it our 3rd time on the getaway.

You should add that it is NOT free to play. They had it on several of my recent cruises but every session was cancelled due to not enough paying participants. I prefer the games like 55 to Stay Alive, Pictionary, etc…the “free, everyone can join” type games. Just my opinion.

Found your channel right before our first NCL cruise [Pearl/Adriatic/Greece]. VERY IMPORTANT- IF Purchasing air tix with NCL, we did save us a ton (half the cost of commercially available flights at the same time- July/high season) but you HAVE to upgrade any status, WHEN YOU BOOK the flight. YOU CANNOT upgrade after that magic 'window' of xx number of days prior, and the airline will NOT LET YOU UPGRADE even seats, even if they are available for additional $$. So, we were/are stuck in cramped economy seats, and no one explained that to us at time of booking with NCL. Thank God we will arrive two days prior to the cruise, and can get over jet lag. But, I'll say this - NCL nickels and dimes you to death. Viking had no such malarkey- and we got a KING bed on our last Viking cruise, not two twins in a balcony (!) cabin...just saying.
