There has been a lot of backlash from this movie and I can understand why. I saw one guy say it was happy death day with an until dawn skin put on it

You can really tell super massive had nothing to do with this it's sad because they could've made this so good

I feel like this movie is like if someone watched the trailer for until dawn and thought that's everything the game is about 💀 You're so right when you said the only issue is that it's just not until dawn. I'd probably be excited for this movie if they didn't advertise it as being tied in to ud 😭

I'm still wondering what in the world the whole masked monster thing was about?? When did that EVER happen in Until Dawn??? And the dialogue is so... ???

If the Wendigo weren't part of the original Until Dawn's story, the events of the game never would've happened. That's how important they are.

This could actually be a really good movie and make this version of the wendigo huge but it's still NOT UNTIL DAWN

I wanted to comment about the following in the previous video, but I'll fo it here: time loop, even if not related to the content of the Until Dawn game, it does provide something we would otherwise miss in a movie with mostly the same story - the deaths, and thanks to the time loop we can actually see these different deaths for each character. As for the story - I wonder if it's Sony who didn't allow to recreate most of the game, or is it the actual creators of the movie who used the creative freedom given to them to steer in a different direction. As for now, the only thing I'm disappointed is the absense of snow (really could help with the vibe), and I wonder if they actually included similar to the game drama (Hannah and Beth; Josh with medical neglect of him and such) I really want this movie to be good (as a movie at least) - not great, there are really miserable chances for it to be a great adaptation, but that time loop is a bonus that can compensate in some way as only in games we can look how the same character can die differently

They should have saved this death loop idea for a Dark Pictures game. Looks like a good movie but it just doesn't look like Until Dawn.

I cried when the game ended and i felt lost for atleast a week but was happy that it ened happy and i feel a real connection with clementine never felt this atached to a game. Whole new perspective on life now.

So, I know there’s a lot of discourse of this movie saying “it’s not like the game”, which I thought AT FIRST, but now thinking it through, I actually do think it’s faithful when you look into the details, and I’ll give you two reasons why: 1. First off, in the original game’s mechanics, they use “the butterfly effect” where it’s up to the player to choose which is the right decisions to keep the characters alive at the end of the game until dawn (pun-intended), while in the film they do faithfully adapt that concept in a time loop, where now the characters know they’re in this time loop everytime they die and (to an extend) know what they’re getting into, it’s up to the characters to make the right choices to survive the time loop until dawn (pun-intended again), just like in the game. So in a way, not only that it’s faithful to the “butterfly effect” mechanic, the time loop is also an expansion of the original game’s mythology (which they also revealed that this movie takes place in the same universe as the game). 2. People have pointed out of being upset at the film being “a killer in a mask is killing these people”, but that’s what it was originally marketed in the original game as that’s what the original premise at first glance, because the marketing for the game never revealed any wendigos, purposely telling the audience that it was just gonna be a slasher game, than half way through, it changes genres from slasher to creature feature when the wendigos do show up, so when the filmmakers are telling us that, when the characters do relive the time loop, they are transported into a different genre of horror, so they might start off as slasher and survive a killer in a mask, but then the new threat comes along from the different time loops like the supernatural genres and survive from ghosts, in the zombie and survive from zombies or maybe even just like the original game, wendigos. So in way, the fact that it switches genres on you in the movie, is like how they did it in the game. Now, I know it might be a bit of a stretch for people who were turned off by the idea of what this new Until Dawn movie, but I wanna address to my thoughts on why they are faithfully adapting the original games mechanics while putting it in a different setting. So, I hope that people understand where I’m coming from.

I agree with a lot of people in the comments section. This movie sounds like a Dark Pictures Anthology kind of game. Honestly they could have made a title like calling it a Dark Picture Anthology movie, then having a subheading title like Survive the Cabin (of course titled better I just can't think of anything right now). That would leave them open to do more stories in a franchise, and not pushing away fans of the series by claiming it's Until Dawn when it's clearly not. We could then have stories that are better explored in video games and ones in movies.

I'm actually so angry that sony just slapped the until dawn name on a completely unrelated movie. There's no time loop in UD? There's no suburbs?? I'm so mad I can't lie 💀 I think the only thing relating the two is Peter Stormare, and even then Hill won't be the Dr Hill we knew cause he was in Josh's head 😭 The fact they had the nerve to have a voice over about how they want it to 'expand the game' and gave us this. I can't. It feels like a slap in the face 💀 Oh well, at least we have the og and the remaster. I see people say this should be a dark pictures thing but honestly? I wouldn't want that at all. a) cause sony doesn't yet own DPA like they do UD thankfully, and b) we unfortunately wouldn't have the curator, who's literally the main part of the series. Anyways. Season 2 of Dark Pictures anyone?

“Questionable” is putting it nicely. The way it sounds like making a game based on Superman video game, but the movie turns out to be a cheap version of Indiana Jones. I can’t say I can’t believe they would do this; but I’m honestly not. This is maybe one of the worse video games to movie translations ever.

This absolutely looks like a movie my sister and I would watch, which isn't bad. It's just that there's no point in claiming it's an adaptation of _Until Dawn._ Whenever it comes to streaming, I'll probably try to watch it with her. It kinda reminds me of _Abigail_ so far, so that's great.

It annoys me that they’re bringing Dr Hill back like he’s going to connect a whole franchise of until Dawn movies. He’s not the curator from Dark Pictures. He was literally Josh’s real life therapist/dr.

A different title with From The World of Until Dawn would have been a perfect name for a movie just like other spin offs.

If they wanted to do something different but keep the interest of at least some fans, why can't they make it 'in the universe' of Until Dawn... They want a killer instead of Wendigo, ok, then make a psychopath so fixated on the story of the OG cast that he wanted to recreate the night... It still won't be exactly what people want, but it's at least somewhat connected...

Why not do this for all the Dark Picture games aswell? Is it just because there isn't a compilation of all the cut voicelines/scenes? There is an insame amount of cut dialogue with cool implications for them

This could've been such a smart idea if they made it in a snowy icy mountain and them being hunted down by JUST wendigos I also don't like how there adding a supernatural element to until dawn because there "continuing" the "universe" and the rewind thing is verry dumb because the thing about the game is the deaths are permanent

They could've saved this idea for the dark pictures anthology this would of made a really good game
