I brought this to locals last night and got to fuck around with someone else, and man, nevermind the blocking shit, autotargeting the closer of the two characters was awful.

14:40 That moment when you realize Camo/Verde is essentially the Climax Hero version of MK's Reptile... Right down to the invisibility move. I mean I get that he's a lizard, but still... uncanny.

Another broken thing about the tag style, is that you can use any form that you like by default, that includes Rider's Ultimate Forms.

Man. Learning so much about this game. I gotta set myself up to play it one day.

Gundam VS are fighting games since they are basically Virtual-On, 3d arena fighter with fast mechs and usually lots of zoning since almost everyone has a multitude of guns (which in some cases could be considered a 3d shmup-fighter mix, kinda like Senko no Ronde, Acceleration of Suguri and such)

I'll be honest, depending on how many original AM2 guys are still knocking around working on this theoretical VF6, I'd be pretty hyped about radical design changes. If it's a bunch of AM2 veterans that know VF inside and out, I'd be happy giving them free reign. Who knows better what works and what doesn't in a VF game than AM2? Fuck it, if they put super arts and special cancels and EX moves in the game I wouldn't complain. They'd find a way to set a new standard for the mechanics in the whole genre, let alone make the mechanics work in VF. Imagine doing a super, your opponent getting hit, and then they do a specific input in a precise window during the super animation to cut the animation short and turn your super into their super for even bigger damage. While I doubt such a thing would *ever* be implemented, that is the kind of expectation I have for AM2's design decisions; batshit, interesting, and different from the way everyone else does things, but not without very good reason.

I hope the backgrounds are like vf3 but more interactive. Like fighting in a bar and you can interact with the tables or crowd and you can break through the front or back door and fight in the street or alley. So many cool stuff they could do. The wrestlers could fight in an actual wrestling ring and interact with the ropes and turnbuckle and maybe fight in the backstage area of the arena. I hope the characters show more personality too like showing torn clothes and bruised bodies and being more talkative. I have high hopes for this game.

My favourite part of Virtua Fighter eSports at EVO 2027 is when Akira used his Virtua Meter to perform a Virtua Low into a 45 second long super that gives him plus frames right after, allowing him to use his Virtua Dash into a Virtua Mid to take the round. Good to see you upload again, Sleepmode 🔥

the main reason so many climax heroes games feature the ryuki cast is because they were literally built off of this game's engine.

Been playing Street fighter for years, finally got into 3D fighters with Tekken 8 and it’s amazing being a beginner again, game is like crack. But. It’s bittersweet because it’s made me think of the 3D fighting genre in general. I love Tekken but let’s be honest it’s the only game in town. Yes I know you can play VF5 but as you say it’s platform locked and the online is terrible. Yes I know you can play Soulcalibre or DOA 6 but again; they both have massive issues and with Tekken 8 being so good why would you suffer that? If you’re into 2D fighters you have so many options, so many styles to choose from, SF, KOF, anime games, tag fighters etc etc.’ The 3D space needs something new. Tekken needs competition, we need VF6

I think climax Heroes and climax heroes w has short gap is probably because w is already being recorded while decade is still in pre production.

Watching fighting game videos and stuff about Inoue takehiko creator of Slam Dunk manga and Vagabond led me here. Had no idea this game existed. Take one look at inoue’s non vagabond manga and this kind of game fits the way he depicts intense defense and one on one in his manga. Makes me wonder if that inspired the studio to take this route with the game.

It's such a shame. VF5US got me back into Virtua Fighter in what seems like forever. I have note that I live in the Netherlands so VF5US's online functionality is actually ok here, but it hurts that SEGA just lets this game linger on without giving it any tlc and ignoring the chance to bring VF back in any big way.

Uhh... why is Super Climax Heroes "infamous"?

I'd like to see VF 1 or 2 arcades ported to current consoles. I know they ported 2 to PS3, but I'd like to see SEGA at least plonk them somewhere accessible so that I can give it a go.

What's the BGM at the start of Part 2: Fundamentals? It's very familiar to me, but I can't remember whether it's a King of Fighters or an Art of Fighting... EDIT: Now that I've got to Part 3's music... I LOVE that Fighting Vipers 2 gets a cameo! EDIT 2: Saw that there was already another comment... I totally missed the lower thirds with the song title. KOF 2001, that was my suspicion. Great choice.

I had his game and I know very well how Enkenfu, her throw and dive kick are so overpowered, but her unlockable, jab and her defense bug are mind blown to me, I played it for years abd I didn´t knew about it.

To be honest even though it revolutionized in the earlier times. It's just not going to make it in this new market and new generation of people. Couldn't imagine something like VF surviving the 2020s. The Microwaved/Easybake oven kids post 2015 will not care or appreciate VF like us throwback heads did. Nevermind the fact Sega has been consistently shooting themselves in the foot business wise like a Hanna Barbera cartoon.

Dude. This video makes me sad. I mean, I'm so happy for the state of fighting games in general. The big three, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Tekken are putting in the work but Virtua Fighter is seriously lagging behind. And it's sad because one could make the argument that Virtua Fighter is the best and most important fighting game of them all. It paved the way for 3D gameplay, has seriously deep fighting mechanics, and refuses to sell or give into the gimmicks of so many modern games. But it's seriously lagging behind the others in terms of marketing But I refuse to give up hope. This series is an important part of my childhood. This and Tekken were the games I've got the fondest memories of. I have faith Virtua Fighter will one day come back in a big way. We just have to be patient and enjoy what's available now.

Thing is Vf needs to spice their series up. End the repetitive gameplay.

I'd say military tech has done about a gazillion more useful things than a computer game, bud. I'd rather Sega take their time and do VF when they have something new to say, rather than force one out.

UNPOPULAR OPINION. Virtua Fighter with the Dead Or Alive system/fluidity is Freaking AMAZING!!! I loved my VF characters in DOA5.

The netcode isn’t that big of an issue as VF5US gives you a sizeable input buffer to compensate for any delays, meaning if you buffer in a move it can still come out instantly after a different attack

REally don't understand why Sega not releasing VF6....

VF has always been under rated because people want flash and gimmicks and not true game mechanics. VF is the only true 3d fighter, everything else is flash.
