- I had T5 (@TTTTTsd_) on my stream recently to talk about MAX Mode in KOF 2002UM and how you should go about using it! It's quite complex, and it doesn't work the same was as XIII's Drive mechanic or XIV's MAX Mode, so it's worth going into. This footage has been lightly edited for brevity.

No joke, I think this video is going to save my 2002UM experience. I've been having a ton of trouble coming up with Max Routes for Terry, but now I know a Power Geyser finish for my point character might actually be optimal. Cheers mates!
I played alot of KOF wing and KOF Howling blood 2, just that sound effect alone (3:55 ) hit me with alot of nostalgia it's bizzare

I really got into KOF when I visited Tokyo in 02. There was an arcade near the Tokyo Dome. There were some dudes playing KOF2000 and they had skills.
Great video bro i just got this game and 14 was my very first kof. I love this one more but can you do a direct tutorial on clark's hsdm? He's my favorite character and i didnt think itd be this challenging 😂

This game is awesome but I will stick to Guilty gear+R because honestly I kept spamming kyo 236A into 236B during normal max activation for two hours and couldn't get the cancel for the life of me
I wish this game was more forgiving in execution so that not every combo need an hour in training mode
I came here to learn not to fall into the kyo clone propaganda machine that i now believe in
Is there a guide on how to use the COMMAND function for 2k2 UM/ 98 UMFE? I know you have to use a 2nd controller but idk what the different features do.
I’ve been playing this game for 8 years and I never knew quick max uses two 2 bars. I’m so fucking blind. What is wrong with me
Same, been trying Bao for about a week just to get used to doing max bypassing, and I was getting pretty annoyed that it was only coming out 10% of the time in matches when it's as easy as pie to do in practice mode. I didn't even notice I was spending 3 bars in matches when I was ending the combos with level 2 supers. I still wouldn't know if I didn't see this comment.

There’s a point early on where I adjust the game volume (which I cut out for brevity), so it does get quieter. Sorry! 02UM is a very loud game

Thanks for the vid. But how the hell do you run so fast after maxmode action from a normal. I know some characters are just difficult todo but I see people running as fast as the auto run in 13 and 14
Ps: I'm just trying todo 2C max 2A with leona. Doing it raw is easy but the full combo is way more difficult. I'm able to do the full combo only not consistent. If I see leona players Who do the same combo do it they run much faster than I do. I just dont know what Im doing wrong here (been a leona main in all the games and could always do all the hard stuff with her)
@@tyronedierksen3780 it’s really just a matter of practice. you can buffer the run during the max activation, as long as you cancel during the hitstop of the normal (so you don’t accidentally cancel into another button). It’s tough, but just keep at it

19:00 i'm not able to use max mdoe bypass on my game... is there any tips on how to do it? Nothing comes out
best way to do bypass is to input your special move motion + BC slightly after your attack hits, and then hold the buttons down so you buffer it the whole way through
I have been playing this game a lot lately and am having issues with doing max mode run from a normals, specially if the character that am using have a ➡️B command normal that I don’t want(ex Iori). I play on a ps5 controller and I have a trigger button for max mode. Can you give any tip normal into max M. run more consistent?
so what’s happening? are you trying to do normal into max mode run but you’re getting f+B instead?
yes, am trying to do C into Max.M run into C, but for the most part I get C and ➡B(not in max.M) am using a micro for B,C
You gotta max activate faster. Slow activations will result in lk coming out
How can you do the Max Run?
it’s just manually inputting a run after a max cancel. there’s not really a secret to it, you just have to get used to the timing and practice it
How do you reset your position in training mode?
when you go into the pause menu, you can choose what your select button does. it's normally set to show the command list, but you can change it to "restart" and it'll act as a position reset
This video would be so much better if you turned the inputs on

So basically, Max mode is just for flash and scaling makes it mostly worthless.
i believe that they wanted to explain a lot about it in great detail, as you can presume from the lenght of the video, what did you expect? and there are timestamps for the video and you can just skip to whatever the fuck you want
