WAAAGH! got gutted in 10th edition. Back in 9th it was 2 turns, same buffs as now but you got the melee bonuses for 2 turns and a handy +6 invulnerable You also got the SPEED WAAAAGH! which was a collection of nice buffs to ork shooting (idr specifics, I never used speed waaagh but it was pretty good) In 10th you get 1/4 of the buffs and with changes to rules (blast buff, overwatch etc) you just can't use it to its full potential it had in 9th. The lads just get wrecked in close range if you want to use a horde list for the HORDE ARMY and you get no use out of it if you use a dread mob, kult of speed, da big hunt. Bully boyz, green tide and war horde can get some use out of it but you either have no models left on the table by t3 or not enough models to get the most out of it

It's similar when playing Magic: The Gathering, especially EDH - when there are so many different interactions possible on the board, it is always preferable to be forthright with what is clearly visible, sure you may have a trick or two up your sleeve/in your hand but it's really underhanded to misrepresent your board state. Otherwise, you're quite frankly a dick.

I think an often overlooked aspect of games like 40k is communicating the type of game experience you want to have. Game balance between factions (let alone the balance of individual unit entries) has been historiclaly a huge issue with 40k but far too many players dont think about or are adverse to discussing the sort of battle and what kind if list(s) they are wanting to play to figure out of the match is going to be remotely fair. somebody wanting to being a fluffy list or using a weak faction shouldnt be the punching bag for a meta net list. Its frankly a waste of time for the fluffy player as few people want to just get seal clubbed and its also a waste of for the player with the powerful list unless they just want to stroke their own ego by doing the seal clubbing. Same goes for when experienced players go against newer players. Back in 7th, it was the wild west in terms of game balance with insane disparities between the top tier factions/units and the weak factions. With a bit of communication and the desire for both parties to have a good experience, you could reasionably come up with a matchup that gave each party a sporting chance of victory. If some balance couldnt be achived then each person can just agree to not play each other and find somebody else that will give your army a fun battle. 7th was by far the most fun edition I have played when the players worked together to ensure a good battle while being an often futile experience when both players just slap down armies on the table blind and expect an enjoyable battle to occur.

It’s continually surprising to me how many people treat 40K competitive play as an ‘information arms race’, yes the intent is to win, but fairly and cleanly, because you accurately predicted what would happen in the game, and not as is sometimes is the case because you withheld information.

I initially misunderstood the premise of this video. Intent was always attached to RAW vs RAI. I am not certain how else to could describe it though. Perhaps just referring to it as sportsmanship?

This is a great video. I think sometimes it’s hard to know how much information to divulge without giving away your strategy but this explains it in an easy to understand manner

My hypercrypt Necrons do very well with fixed. Very reliable fixed and Secret missions even vs. good screening because of the 3” deep strike stratagem. I also run stormlord so I’m not as reliant on discarding secondaries for CP.

I'm a new Chaos knights player and still learning secondaries and would like to pick fixed but don't know which ones are best for CK?

I ask furing tournaments what my opponents army does

Drop pods can do actions right? I’ve been putting 5 sternguard or Infernus marines and 5 Intercessors in each drop pod. Sending 2 from the heavens into areas I need to complete missions or steal objectives.

In the first example can the Ork split their attacks or can they only attack one of the enemy units?

This is massive, and feels relevant to me and life events for the last few years which seem to be unending as something else keeps coming along. I got into the hobby end of last year, and got more and more into it. Put in for my first RTT this month but now I'm not feeling it. Doesn't help I was playing and enjoying Deathwatch. I'm unsure whether to stay in the tournament or pull out. It isn't until 21st and the paint restriction are removed, it's very relaxed. Maybe I'll get my mojo before then. This video is really meaningful, thank you.

I prefer the denser maps with based terrain to simplify what clunts as cover. I just do local events from time to time and have had some feel bads becaise my opponent brought a gun line and decided that we didnt need so much terrain

As a marine player Im really enjoying Impulsors now. Using the shield dome for an invul makes it more survivable and they make a good secondary action unit. with a squad of incursors you are able to scout move the impulsor and then advance it and disembark squad to perform an action.

Hi, I love your videos. I noticed that your info for Firing Deck rule is not the full rule description from the app. Fire deck weapons can only be used in your shooting phase. So no shooting Overwatch with your firing deck weapons

Ofc all these tactics have value on a wtc style of terrain else you gonna get gunned easily at least some units even if you intention was to play safe

Thank you for putting it so succinctly. It helped me realise where I'm going wrong - I'm relying too much on saturation and not playing a patient enough game; I need to hide more, and make sure I trade up.

Missed using our transports/vehicles correctly. If one position their transports and land raider redeemers correctly, one can funnel their opponent.
