How I Make a Pizza Peel
In this video I make a pizza peel for the first time. For material I used cherry for the side pieces and walnut for the handle. For a small accent I had a thin strip of maple running through the middle of it. This turned out really nice and was a lot of fun to make. Now let's see if I actually use it for what it is intended for. I hope you enjoy this video and If you do it would be really awesome if you subscribed and followed along with me on my journey of learning woodworking. Thanks

How I Make: A Banana Hanger
Просмотров 6229 месяцев назад
In this video I try something new. I've never really tried making a mortise by hand with a chisel and mallet. It was really challenging but rewarding as well. The wood I chose is Sapele. It turned out beautiful when finish was applied. As far as the design of the piece I tried to do something a little different. Most of the banana hooks I found on the internet all had a bent or curved stand and...
Cheap, Easy Shiplap
Просмотров 55310 месяцев назад
This was an easy DIY woodworking project. I took and empty spot on the side of one of our cabinets and added some shiplap to the side. Not in the traditional way though, I used some thin plywood cut into 6 inch strips and glued and nailed them to the side. Pretty straight forward project but I got to use some tools so it was fun. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy. #diy #shiplap #woodwork...
How I Make: Planter Box
Просмотров 250Год назад
In this video I wanted to try something new. I saw Matthew Peech build a planter box from cedar fence pickets and really liked the look of it. So I watched his video a few times and tried my hand at making one. I got close but I have since then bought his plans from his Etsy store and will try it again. This was a fun and challenging build for me using different angles for miters and bevels. Up...
Easy DIY Storage Solutions for a Small Shop
Просмотров 226Год назад
When you have a small shop like mine you need as much floor space as possible. This is a very quick and easy DIY project to get some of that space back. My dust collection is not great so I utilize my leaf blower throughout the day. When I'm not using it I am continuously moving it out of the way. With a few cutoffs, some glue and screws I made a simple holder to get it off the ground and put i...
How I Make: A Keepsake/Tea Box
Просмотров 11 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I took inspiration from John Maleckis version of a tea box that he took from Mike Pekovich book The Why and How of Woodworking. I used walnut for the walls and detail pieces and maple for the top, bottom and inserts. I used finger joints instead of dovetails since I've never attempted either I started with what I felt would be easier. This was a really fun woodworking project and ...
How To Make EASY DIY Floating Shelves. Small decorative shelves from some scrap wood.
Просмотров 2192 года назад
This was a quick DIY project. We had some leftover butcher block that was used for the countertop in our kitchen. I just cut a few smaller pieces and used some hidden shelf brackets that I found on Amazon, gave them a pretty good sanding and used some butcher block oil for the finish. Down the road I may use some type of poly protection on them but for now this looks alright. I hope you enjoy t...
How I Make: DIY Tealight Candle Holder
Просмотров 19 тыс.3 года назад
This video is a simple DIY scrap wood project. I had some leftover walnut, cherry and maple from an earlier project and wanted to try bending some thin pieces between the larger ones to create a wavy look with the wood. I'm happy with how it turned out and think next time I might do a little more with different patterns. I hope you enjoy and if you do go ahead and like and subscribe to the chan...

What are the dimensions? How thick are the panels and what type of wood species did you use here?

    • @howimake1
      @howimake1 23 дня назад

It's been a while but I think it is about 10 inches long by 5 inches tall and wide. The sides are a 1/4 inch thick and the panels are about 1/8 inch thick. I'm pretty sure I used walnut and cherry.

Or you could buy a tin of blackboard paint and a box of chalks and then you could pass messages to each other: "Not in for tea on Thursday", "Mum called" etc. Or give the chalks to your children, for while you're cooking, I worked late one day and came home to a representation of the Solar System.
