Speed Matching Locos in DCC.
Просмотров 2875 лет назад
Observing what speed others modellers run their trains at, I decided to Speed Match ALL of my Locos with a Top Speed of 30 MPHs. Now all my locos operate with the same speed range and making it easier to double/triple head locos when consisting. Operating in 28 Speed Step mode, my NCE Procab's Speed Step reading is displaying the approximate MPH the loco is travelling at. You need to have a Spe...

The Wombat Models C30T with a Soundtraxx Econami sound decoder , an SBS4DCC 11 x 15 x 8 mm Sugar Cube Speaker and a Stay Alive, all fitted into the Tender, shown hauling hauling 9 bogie wagons up an actual 1 in 70 grade but around the 24 inch radius curve at the top of my 1 in 40 Fassifern Bank, it struggles. This performance is more than adequate from this small Branch Line loco.
NSW Great Southern Railway layout 30Apr2018

My mate Alistair did a Clinic at the Epping Seminar about his NSW Great Southern Railway layout, today we operated on it. What a fantastic layout. Alistair's Junee Roundhouse, Coal Stage and Station are phenomenal. What a great day. For more details, see Alistair's 2018 SCMRA Epping Seminar Clinic at: tinyurl.com/y8yogzr5
Signalling for the single line section on the Main North.
Просмотров 5266 лет назад
I've upgraded the Signalling on the single line between Murrurundi and Werris Creek by installing Starting Semaphores "inside" the Loops, just like what the prototype did. This provides "better" bi-directional running on this 40 metre single line section of track. Hopefully Operators will be kept apart. Operation of the Semaphores is by Occupancy Detectors feeding a Tam Valley Octopus III Servo...

Superb 😊
Looks like a rather nice Beyer-Garratt loco, might be well worth a bit more of a close-up or two. Also, the lower level, with its overhead catenary, is intriguing. It appears that that portion of the layout would certainly worth showing. Well-done catenary is always of interest.
It's great to see that Gosford isn't too far away from Murrurundi these days 🙂, it looks like a short journey now ; your layout looks awesome from what I can see of it & I'd love to come & visit you someday just to see the layout while we chat trains. Thanks for sharing your video Marcus.
I love the depot plate Marcus! 😊
Great to see a new video mate... Hope you are well.
This is why retards shouldn’t have nice things
Superb
Brilliant vid. Just on a side note in the days of steam, how did the banker cordinate with the lead loco with speed braking and the amount of 'pushing' required?
Fabulous layout. Inspirational work
Great work !!!!!
How did you do the grade separation ???
Very nice, great work
Great looking layout, where is it located and any chance of visiting please
Not sure why Marcus has not come back to you, but the layout is in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Garry does have operating sessions by invitation. You may be able to contact him through your local club.
Leg- large
Were you nervous? Bad camera shake. I find that a leg single malt before filming helps immensely.
How many coal wagons on the train
What brand of turntable at Tamworth?
Are there any 57.class steam engines left.
Fantastic model of a deb set ,I'm absolutely stunned that none of these old girls are in operational preserved condition.
Great layout Marcus.
Great layout and a very enjoyable video.
Great layout and a pleasure to watch.
Awesome layout! I really great to see those double Garratts!
I love your setup.
You have out done yourself with this layout
Brings back memories of my trips in about 1982-83 on DEB sets and even the North Mail to Tenterfield and North West Mail to Moree, plus 'Creamy Kate' HPC402 (railcar) from Tamworth to Barraba. Great layout!
Many Thanks for sharing your video Marcus , it IS inspiring to those of us rail fans out there who love the same things as you do , I've just subscribed to your channel & are now following you on Flickr as well ( as Gunzelman ) , although I'm not into DCC - I'm guessing that I shall have to learn it some day soon & I hope that you'll like my videos on You Tube & pics on Flickr as well ; If you haven't seen my "Kev's Workshop" series of videos or website as yet - there's plenty to see when you have a chance.
Great stuff Marcus.
Thank you for sharing this video Marcus , it looks like you have a good layout there but it would be great to see more of your layout with a bit of verbal description to tell other people about your layout explaining the entire idea & operation so that people from around the world can look up these actual location via Google Maps perhaps?? , great work , I look forward to seeing the scenery complete some day.
thanks mate , david and jenny
Great Marcus. Helping me get through the lockdown.
Awesome, awesome, awesome Marcus
Even more Awesome Marcus
More Awesome marcus
Awesome Marcus
Awesome video Marcus, only thing that could make it better is a bit of wheel spin as the 2 engines try to get traction :) Still awesome
Brilliant more please
Little plastic models with Diesel engine sounds coming from a speaker. Sad little men, you're truly pathetic.
G'day Marcus, good to see you putting more videos on RUclips. Keep 'em coming please mate - you have too much knowledge, to not share with others...
Where is this layout located?
superb!
Sounds awesome ! I’ve been thinking of swapping out some speakers to sugar cubes myself. Thanks for sharing. I liked and subbed to your channel. Happy new year 🎊
This is awesome.
So cool!
Don't those NSWGR 48 Class have an ALCO 254C Diesel fitted? Also there are way better horns to choose from on the ESU Select via CV48. Or use the V.0 and choose from a horn from the ESU Library.
Beautiful engines, my friend also got one and installed a Tsunami 2 decoder in it, it was a bit jerky at first but after a couple of runs, was a great smooth runner. One problem encountered was 1 of the pick up tabs somehow got bent and caught in the spokes. after removing the wheel set, rebending it and gluing it onto the small sprue it ran fine. Again beautiful engines
Brilliant layout with some beautiful modelling. Thank you for showing it to us. Must be fantastic to operate. Regards. Tony Daly.
Hi Tony Thanks for the compliments. If ever you are in Sydney, come to the Main North in DCC. email me on mammann@optusnet.com.au Regards Marcus
Hi Marcus, i have just come accross your video on the tube and i was so excited as i have started to build an Ho scale of the Junee Roundhouse, my problem has been getting some relevance into the actual measurements of the building, i have got the basics off the museum website and some footage from a drone coverage, with this i have down loaded various shots and counted bricks in the walls for height etc, but in most parts i am only guessing. i have had a good look at Alistairs Seminar clinic and i am so impressed by the detailed drawings. would it be possible to get Alistairs email and to ask him if there is any thing that i can do to replicate his building. looking forward to hearing from you. My email address is : whking@ts.co.nz Cheers William King (Bill)
Hi Bill Sorry for the delay replying, both Alistair and myself have sent you emails to help you with Junee, to your supplied email address.
Hi Marcusthanks for your reply, Alistair has sent me a lot of information, and has said that I could have some more in depth drawing etc to help out with my project. I am grateful to you both and will probably be in touch with some more requests if you don't mind. Thankyou for your time. and will hopefully send you some photos of the progress.
Crikey Marcus, I’ve never really appreciated how extensive your layout was until this video. I really like how well you’ve captured the atmosphere of all of those key locations and in a proper geographical sequence too. Very impressive work, it must be fantastic to operate. Cheers, Tony Weber
It's even more impressive in the flesh. Marcus is a top bloke too.
Hi Tony. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the nice words. I found that you live in Brisbane. Just last night, 7 Queenslanders attending the MRNSW 35 Convention had fun operating on the Main North with whatever they wanted to run. My Brisbane LTD even got a run and a D57 hauled train was banked up the Ardglen Bank and then onto Tamworth. When in Sydney contact me on mammann@optusnet.com.au. Regards Marcus
You have a great looking layout Thanks for the tour Cheers Ron
