NSWGR DEB Set Northern Tablelands Express.

After buying a 4 Car DEB Set Kit at a local Market Day, for my Northern Tablelands Express, I needed a 3 Car DEB Set to complete the Express. I installed a Diesel Econami decoder, selecting the EMD 567 Non Turbo Prime Mover sound that'll provide a "close enough" sound for the DEB Set. Two speakers used for front and rear "sound". I was very lucky to purchase a 3 Car Set, again installing the same Econami decoder,. I set up Head & Marker Lights in each Set.
With the 7 Car Set, I was able to replicate the 1965 operation of the Northern Tablelands Express by running the 4 Car set from Armidale to Werris Creek, where it joints with the 3 Car set from North West Staging and runs to Sydney as the 7 Car Northern Tablelands Express and returns to Werris Creek where the Express is split in two, with the 4 Car set to Armidale and the 3 Car to N.W. Staging, taking the Operator about 45 minutes to run.
The video shows the 7 Car Set negotiating Ardglen Bank and into Ardglen, returning to Werris Creek.

On a visit to Australia from Singapore in 1977, i had the experience of riding the Northern Tablelands Express from Gosford to Scone. It was the first time ever travelling in a train for a 17year old me. It had the old world charm of separate compartments with the passage way on the side of each carriage. it was a wintery june night and each compartment had a heated warmer placed in it. i have been wondering to this day what was in the warmer. I remember on arrival in Scone at about 12midnight, it was a teeth chattering -1C temperature as i learned from the radio station 2NM in Muswellbrook later that day. :) thank you for the video of your detailed model train set. it brought back nice memories.
