I think by now you know how much I appreciate your work. Just one of the things I have appreciated is that usually, unlike many other people leading yoga nidras on youtube, your yoga nidra runs for the full length of the video. But this morning, having chosen this one because I was wide awake at 3am snd thought it would help me sleep for a few hours, I was startled awake when the voice stopped and the music started at around 2hrs 34 minutes. I would be really grateful if you would consider this in your future recordings. Thank you again for your work.❤
@@Lilly-sr3db Hi Lilly! My absolute pleasure! Oh, yeah, this was one of the earlier sleep tracks. Since it's an Amrit-style one, I think I avoided playing music during the guidance, and since it was meant for sleep, I had the audio engineer add it again toward the end for those who wanted binaural beats. 😅 We've reworked some of the Himalayan-inspired nidras to have music throughout while others only have it during the beginning and end of the track. Seeing when to add music or not has been a bit of trial and error based on the comment feedback. 😬🤣
@restfulstillness2274 Thank you. Is there one that is around 3 hours or more that goes for the whole time? When I am really struggling with sleep it can take me ages to fall asleep so a really long one would be great. Otherwise, if the nidra goes right to the end I can put it on a playlist and just go from one to the other without the jolt of music instead of your voice.😀
@Lilly-sr3db Oh, I have Himalayan-inspired yoga nidras that will be over three hours long coming out soon enough, and they will have music the whole time, and I will be guiding for the duration of the track. Did you want ones that were voice only?

@@izzynelken8125 My absolute pleasure, Izzy! 😄 The level for a meditation of a yoga nidra series on the channel means different things depending on the lineage. Here, we have an Integrative Amrit Method Yoga Nidra, and the series in that style typically just increases slightly in length as I replace one or two techniques with a longer one or a related practice for a deeper relaxation effect. It's meant to help viewers gradually get used to longer and longer practices. For Satyananda-style yoga nidras, it means some of the techniques are more advanced when it comes to the recreation of polar opposite sensations or the rapid image visualizations or the visual journeys. Those yoga nidras are not only pretty long from the very beginning, but they are not suitable for total beginners who have not developed some level of equanimity of at least an inner refuge of peace and safety. Those are meant to go deeper into the psyche and purge unhelpful impressions from the subconscious mind.
I can hardly believe I managed to follow thr whole session. I tried a couple of times before and gave up, It was really relaxing and somehow I managed to concentrate till the end, which for an ADHD'er is quite an accomplishment

My older sister (the one who got me to start practicing meditations daily after dad died and part of the whole reason this channel exists) and my younger brother both have ADHD. They both find yoga nidras fairly challenging, especially those where you need to be still for so long, but they have both been able to go much deeper into their relaxation with repeated practice. My brother practices every now and then, but when starts to burn out from work he comes back to it more regularly. It's an honor and a pleasure to have you here! 😄

Stefano. You say that the Amrit method focuses on the energy body. Can you explain what that is please? I don't think you are referring to one of the 5 koshas are you? Many thanks
My apologies, Lilly. I have been under the weather these past few weeks due to the temperature fluctuations from the Midwestern blizzards, so I am just catching up on comments, lol. Yes, the Amrit method of yoga nidra focuses on the energy body. This does correspond with the pranamayakosha from the panchamayakosha model that we normally see in the yoga nidra lineages that are most well-known in the West. So, as a point of comparison, iRest tends to focus more on the vijnanamayakosha, or the wisdom body, as it uses the inner resource (a form of the Asraya technique) and several references to abiding as awareness itself, especially as we go over the noticing of opposite physical sensations, emotions, thoughts and even beliefs already present within our being. We are training ourselves to hold both opposites in our awareness without merging the two to help us cultivate equanimity. The Integrative Amrit Method (I AM) of yoga nidra, however, focuses greater attention on noticing the subtle energetic dimension of prana throughout the practice. The physical preparatory techniques like deliberate tension and relaxation have us notice energetic pulsations and vibrations after we release clenched and tightened muscles. With bumblebee breath and sound as well as OM chanting, we notice the impact of sound and vibration in our whole being. With breath holding, we can start to release even more tension. And so on. With I AM yoga nidra, we also have instructions about noticing the impact of light pranayama on the whole body relaxing as we gently manipulate the breath. Even when we are using mantra breaths, we notice the energy of the word we are connecting to the breath and how it influences our whole being. Note, the rotation of consciousness is done after these in the I AM yoga nidras as we are now primed to rotate awareness and energy around the body, so by the time we get to practices of recreation of polar opposites or visualizations, if included, we are already in a deeply relaxed state. As such, it’s pretty effortless to go deep at the eyebrow center and rest here. Throughout, we are given instructions to observe the silent stillness extending everywhere, and we’re merging seamlessly with the experience of Oneness. The guidance is focusing throughout on the subtle energetic dimensions that power the breath, surface sensations, and deep interoception. Himalayan Nidras also seem to focus more on the breath and energy body, and Satyananda ones can heavily focus on the mental and wisdom body with elaborate visual journeys and more aggressive recreation of polar opposite sensations, lol. Again, it doesn’t inherently make one practice better than the other. They have different applications and are often most suitable for different audiences.

Hahaha, these typically have music at the beginning and the end. I am glad that you liked it. The Himalayan and Amrit nidras are not supposed to contain sounds outside of my voice so that awareness can be focused inward.
This was a perfect way to start my Boxing Day. I manage to stay awake for your extended sessions when I do them right after waking. The bonus benefit is when I roll over on my side then fall back asleep again. That sleep is magically deep and when I wake for a second time, I feel like I’ve travelled to another dimension and back. I couldn’t complete as many breath cycles as described in the allotted time, but I followed the locations described. Thank you.

Awesome share! I was one with the pleasure bees find going about their day. Reminded me how my day goes so much better when I find joy in doing what most would call mundane.
