I do always think, if not doing a hybrid, it's always a crime not to do these kind of rackets in 1 piece string...
can you tell me the length of strength cut for the main and the crosses?
I cannot. I do not measure with a tape measure. I pull string based on arm length
@@HerbBaird okay, so how many arm lengths for the main vs the cross?
@@doanhtran For me I pull 3 arm lengths plus about 6 inches for the mains, and 3 arm lengths minus about 6 inches for the crosses.
@@HerbBaird thank you
Still think this racket is born for one piece, why it's even not any video to do it in one piece.
Any chance of doing a Vid stringing a racquet using this Drop weight? Cheers
@@Phoniq i do not own the machine. It was left with me to clean. I only had it the one night.
@@HerbBaird ah ok. All good. Thanks
It’s a job watching this vid, what stringer is that?
@@jackieliu1232 wilson Baiardo
This video is a lifesaver. Thank you
I was thinking you would show us one piece from throat to head. And it's doable according to babolat's string chart. And also prefer this also done by one piece around the world. Hahaha. I do play this racket 5 years and I always do it one piece. I do string mine rackets so I would use ATW before i still use higher tension for 55lbs. And after i drop tension to 45 lbs i just string it one piece from throat to top.
How much weight did you put in Mains and crosses?
@@VladimirZhenko 52 lbs
Does this machine have a manual brake?
@@michaelthomas9243 yes
Ohh radical mp 2022 the head of racket is orange are you sure this is 2022version?
Good video. Thanks man.
Thank you so much! Helped me solve my confusion about Yonex Tennis Raquet as it does have a different skipping pattern.
Which head size is it?
@@Maz-i6u 97
Hello, I noticed you when tensioning the last mains with the knot function you had to use a string extender - I noticed that you put both strings that were part of the string extender at the same time in the tensioning head, wouldn't that give half tension? thanks in advance
@lutius10 no. All of the linear force is transferred to the single string.
@ Thank you for the quick reply - I see, thanks
Good racquet, I love the blue! You can use white/silver/black strings and it’ll look good but that yellow/lime would look good in that blue too! I use the older teal Elevate Tour and it’s a great overall players racquet! I didn’t like the new elevate as much I don’t feel as connected to the ball as I do with older frames
Great racquet overall. I like the colors and you use different color strings on it and it looks so cool
Dude, the one hole I'm having trouble with you covered up what you did. Geez.
@@dblbogy397 which hole and I can try to clarify it for you
@@HerbBaird I figured out what you did on the last hole on crosses. I was scared to widen that hole a little but I did what you did. Thanks.
Watched all the way through. This is exactly what I needed for my Head Radical.
glad it was useful
Which string are you using? How many kP? Any recommended strings for this racket?
String and tension and mention at the minute mark of the video. I have never played with this racquet, so it is hard to make a recommendation.
Previous model 2021? Same instructions?
@@mikesuarez9780 i think so
Hey Herb, I also have a Baiardo and the Wise 2090 calibrator. I noticed you have extra support on both ends of your calibrator. Any chance you can tell me what you’re using. I’m having issues keeping my string tied to the calibrator when pulling 66lbs and higher. Thanks
The steel ring on that comes on the ends of the calibrator stretch open and came off of mine. I am using some thin steel cable I got from Home Depot to replace the rings, then I use a sturdy S hook. I loop the string through the S hook so nothing is tied.
@@HerbBaird thank you!
Did you prefer the gravity clamp feature on this machine or the Baiardo more?
I have to admit that the base clamps are the only thing I liked about this machine. I think they are a good design and easy to use.
@@HerbBaird Do the Baiardo gravity clamps work in the real world the same way as the 700-es or did the 700-es clamps have a superior feature? Thanks
@@thediplomat3137 they work well. I just preferred the push down function as opposed to the twist action on the Baiardo. The gravity release feature works well on both
@@HerbBaird got it. I had a Babolat Star 4 or 5 in the 2000's that had a small black push button lock and unlock but they weren't gravity clamps. I think the holy grail would be fully automated clamps and I wonder why no manufacturer has offered these. Can you think why that might be? If money was no object, is there a machine you believe is an upgrade over the Baiardo?

Any tips for dialing in the string clamp fine adjustment? Not so loose to slip, not so tight to crush…
not really. Just something you develope a feel for over time.
Awesome story, thanks. I've been stringing my own racquets for a couple years, and I've toyed with the idea of stringing for side cash after I upgrade my machine. Definitely something to do only if you enjoy stringing itself.
It can get away from you really quick if you let it. I went from around 20-30 per year to a couple of hundred to averaging 1500 per year in just a few years. Make sure it is something you are willing to dedicate lots of time to.
Oops I've been pushing on the bar on my klippermate lol
Only video I could find on how to string my new #AngellTC100. Thank you.
Thx so much for the Video. I initially watched it for being sure which grommets to skip and where to knot. But I learned a lot trivial things, that speed up my stringing process so much: 1. Making the first loop of the knot pretty small makes it easier to tighten the whole knot and I can't get confused which loop to be pulled. 2. I pulled a lot of string through before giving tension to the prior. You are pulling as much as you need to give tension and then pulling the rest through the racket. I see two Advantages doing it that way, first it is much easier to have the end of the whole string in the end to pull it through the next (5s win every time), second, far less string in my way, don`t have to be so cautioned. 3. Most time saving, me was weaving parallel to the former string. U are weaving diagonal, st from head to throat, st from throat to head. The string bed is much more "looser" for weaving that diagonal way and it is MUCH faster. Got a Question about the third point: Is there a reason you weave st. from the head to throat ans st. from throat to head? (Hope it is all understandable, I'm not a native speaker)
@marcooglialoro2608 If I understand your question correctly, you want to know why I weave from head to throat on one side and from throat to head from the other. All I can think of is due to the way the racquet turns when the machine is tilted. It is nothing I am doing on purpose.
Ok, thx
Hi, I just got my Bairado L last week and was wondering what the metal washers are on the reel holder for. I'm guessing the big plastic wheels are to be in between each reel but do I toss the metal washers? Thanks!
I never did use the meta washers. The large plastic wheels go between reels as you said. It takes 2 between reels and the metal washer s to go between them.
@@HerbBaird Thank you!!
Many thanks, I'm new to stringing and you have all the videos of the rackets my family uses.
why not around the world?
V16
Thx for the video; how much string do you need for a 100 clash? Does it need to be done in 2 pieces?
@juliesawyer8534 you can do 1 or 2 pieces. Not sure of the string length. I just measure with my arms
Hi, if you don't want to use a brake with a Prince O-port racquet, you can do it like this: ruclips.net/video/fFgRAePLzVE/видео.html
Thanks for your tutorials Herb. Your chanel has been brilliantly informative for me. I am the rpesident of a small regional Tennis CLub in Queensland Australia and have recently purhcased a Gamma Proression II ELS, (2024). MAy i ask if you are using Isopropanol as your cleaning Al? we have a product in Australia called Iso-Wipes which are an Isopropanol impregnated canister of cloth type wipes. wondering if this would be the same as i don't want to damage the machine. Thanks again Mate. Regards, Peter.
@petermchugh4821 yes. I use 91% isopropyl alcohol. Your wipes should perfect for the job.
@@HerbBaird Thank you Herb.
Lengths for main/crosses?
I do not know. I do not measure with a ruler I just pull 3 arm lengths and adjust from there.
Can you do a video or have you done one I can reference on cleaning your stringing machine properly after 10 or 20 racquets? Thanks so much for your content, new stringer here!

Looking underneath it I saw that there is a pivot to tilt it, similar to the electronic adjustment on the Baiardo Top, were you able to adjust its tilt?
yes. I discuss the tilt in the video. It comes with a wrench, and there is a screw in the top. Turn the screw with the wrench to adjust the tilt.
For this racket, do you prefer a 2 or one piece? I’m considering atw
@dg903 I prefer 2 piece on every racquet
Is there away to string one piece without having to string a bottom cross right out the gate (I thought there was)? Stringing the mains then starting the crosses top down (head to throat).

I came across the quite by accident and I've watched it three times now and it's inspired me to learn how to string rackets. Itired it once back 1989 or so using my mates drop-weight machine, I did an ok-ish job but I never tried to another one. In your opinion what the the best stringer one can buy for sub 1000?
@capricornmagic63 to be honest, I am not sure. I am not up to date on current machine prices. I am not sure if you can even get an electric machine for that. If your budget is limited, just go for.as many features as you can get. Start with 6 point mounting, then fixed clamps, then upgrade the tensioner.
Hi. When you meassure on short side the last mains length 1 1/2 (from 7 to 8 1/2) is that to reach the stringer? how much length to string long side incl. the 8 + 1 mains ?
@benjaminjensen111 Yes. Don't know. The long side is going to have almost 30 feet of string.
Hi Herb. Why dont you use a starting block for protecting the outside frame and 2 cm of the string for the tie off?
@@benjaminjensen111 I do not leave the clamp on long enough to damage the string, and the clamp is against the head guard. It's not going to damage the frame or scratch the paint.
Hi Herb, do you think it's worth upgrading the old Baiardo clamps to the new ones from the Baiardo L?
@danielr.9516 can't really answer that for you. I think if I was going to pay the money to replace the clamps and rails, I would just sell the L and buy a full model. You probably have $4000 in the L going to cost $700-$800 for base amps and rails. For another $1200, you can have the full model.
@@HerbBaird At the moment, I own the old classic Baiardo with the 4-teeth clamps. I'm just thinking of upgrading to the 5-teeth clamps. Cost are around 400 Dollar. I'm not sure if they are worth the money compared to the old ones. 🙂
@danielr.9516 Everyone always asks about the base clamps, sorry. I have both old and new. I put the old clamps on the new machine. If your old clamps are still in good shape, I would stay with them. The new clamps are almost too light to release the base, and to me just feel flimsy. Might be worth buying a pair to put up while you can, but I will use the old ones until they fall apart.
@@HerbBaird Thanks for your quick response, Herb 🙂
Judt got a second one of this...and it sounds dofferent, and is much slower than my first. Anyone have suggestions?
