Started caching my timeline recently, supremely complex edit and timeline for a music video and it would typically take my m4 mac mini about 30 minutes or so to render it. The FX and layering was so complex however that it actually kept crashing at 44% (5 graded clips layered over one another with dissolves) and I thought surely caching the clips would've helped. Googled it, found your vid and ticked the option. Took 1 minute and 35 seconds, didn't even stutter. What a game changer!! Definitely going to continue using cache. Helps playback quality and I didn't think such render times were possible. Literally flabbergasted.

This is not true, it took almost double the time to render when I clicked use render cache. I did a simple sample clip, I used NRAW clip made no changes exported it in mp4 4k @ 60fps and it took 38sec, when I clicked the box it took 68 seconds, almost double the time

Starting 4:21 you can clearly observe systematic compression artifacts: Every 2 seconds, there is flashing on the left end of the dark gray rectangle of the stabilizer timeline. If you're compressing this with DaVinci Resolve: I think turning off "Frame reordering" is essential, and maybe you also have to increase the amount of key frames or the compression thoroughness overall (e.g. "Full" for Two Pass).

I really appreciate this video. This is exactly what I have long looked for. I learned how to stabilize in the Edit and Cut pages. But those features (virtually the same) cannot eliminate the movement effect of camera on a gimbal. The technique in the Color page that you share in this video deals with that issue head on. Your explanation is clear and concise. I cannot thank you enough!

Workspace -> Switch to Page -> Edit. I don't know why the default seems to be "Cut" or whatever but the button will never appear in that view.

Bit depth = quantization. Glad that he didnt mention 16 bits as it DOES NOT EXIST. Many manufactures confuse consumer by saying 16 bits on their specs (it is ADC not quantization). Bare in mind, 12 bits can only be displayed on very very expensive video monitors. Good video. Keep up the good job.
