Warning Flashing light, the camera unfortunately picked up the led flash. There is no use in people saying to get rid of it, you can't without redoing video. After hearing reports of Water in the Subframe I decided to investigate my own bike. I show taking off Subframe bars and treating them . This is to prevent rusting in the future.

Ready for some summer adventures 😎👍
A bit of Aussie swearing never hurt anyone. That looked like a right ol bugger Bazza! I'd probably forget the lower crash bars if using the uprated bash plate...
@stevesanelli90 I am actually thinking about taking bottom crash bars off. There is too much mucking around, and I think bike will get stuck in ruts.
Thank you for the video, looking at doing the air filter. Thanks👍
@verbalwidget7267 cheers, I'm glad the video helped you. It's not too hard a job.
I might have missed it - what footpegs did you fit? I am after some wider ones but not sure what will actually fit on the bike
@cyphertheory they are pivot pegs copies off uncle wang.
Odd... Once a fun bike, now an over bloated sinker. Me personally I'd leave it standard & go have fun. Crash bars & Bash plates 🤔 🪕🎵🎶 WeeeeHarr 🤠
@Tubed-i5n you need at least a bash plate if you plan on going on rocky terrain . The original plate bends so easy.
Great video Bazz looks good
@dynamadnessadventures205 Thanks Darren.
Great looking unit Barry.
If you loosen the rear bolts near the footpegs on both bashplate frame rails the job becomes so much easier. Screw the bolts out about halfway and you can manipulate the rails to make the bashplate holes line up
@mrlemonadesandwich thanks for the suggestion. The bash plate lined up ok it's just trying to get lower crash bars on that was tricky. Cheers
It looks very good and solid.🦾
@@allandavidgonzalez5641 it is solid. Thanks for watching.
Each to their own and all that but to me, the bash plate has made the crash bars obsolete
@markhills3922 you don't really need the bottom ones but seeing how I played for them may as well use them.
@@bazz6670 I thought that might be the case Baz.
Bash plates ae fun aren't they
@FlatBrokeAdventures oh yes, have to take it off to service bike also.
@@bazz6670 Yes I'll have to too with the factory unit I think
A cheap bike has suddenly become expensive with all the add ons only joking hope to buy one soon.
Yes it is now an $11.000 bike 🏍 Good to hear you are getting one. On a good point, you could pay $18.000 for a bike and do the same thing. Cheers
No locktite
Not yet I only have high strength and will need to take bash plate off for service soon. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@bazz6670 if you could keep just one bike to do it all would you keep the tiger or the 450
@jackchristodoulou197 definitely the 450 mate. The tiger has heaps of power but on dirt all I do is spin the back wheel and its a heavy bike. I always have a smile when on the 450.
Can I ask what pannier rack you have, cheers.
These are modified drz400 racks. I bought them off ebay for $75 au
How much weight do you reckon you've added with the crash protection and bigger skid/bash plate?
The bars are 6 kilos and bash plate I estimate about 4. Racks about 4. Protection is worth it.
Thanks for the video Bazz, I have crash bars, high seat and bash plate all coming from Uncle Wang, so your videos are really useful.
Cheers David, looks like you will be prepared. Enjoy, mate.
Looking good!
Thanks Ian, 😊
👍. The flag is flying the wrong way. lol. Hasn’t B&B released there’s yet?
I’m supporting B&B 🍻
It's only flying wrong on one side lol. B@b have a fantastic bash plate, it was on back order last time I looked. I needed a bash plate now for a trip to the high country.
@@bazz6670. lol. Just tell them to hold a mirror up to it. Apart from the water in subframe. How is the bike holding up? How many km’s on it now please? Enjoy the trip 👍.
@holden3083 bike has been solid, I have done over 3000 ks now. I know that doesn't sound much. Will test it out in the high country soon, nothing to extreme, but .
@@bazz6670. Good to hear. I do expect the bikes to be fairly solid with not much going wrong with them. At least till the 15 - 20 k mark. Do they have a 5 or 10 k service interval?
Another great video 👍did you do a video fitting the bark busters? Thanks
I did but I had corupt footage so unfortunately I couldn't make one. Cheers.
Did you end up lowering the bike after installing the tall seat?
@nevillegreg1 I did. There will be a video soon. Cheers
Bazz, you mentioned the pivot pegs. Also bought from Uncle Wangs?
@Hark3n I was given them by a friend, I'm pretty sure he got them from unclewang. They feel good under foot and take a little to get used to.
Looking good mate
@chicoadv cheers mate.

It could be bad if you get freezing water in.
Taki sam stary bajker jak ja , wie co dobre , pewnie wcześcniej jeżdził GS -em który jest najdroższym Café racer-em na świecie
I was wondering what the difference was between the 2 seats.. I think you should lower the bike now. Be mindful though that lowering the bike makes the side stand seem longer and the bike doesn't lean over as much, so you'll have to be careful using t on uneven ground
@@FlatBrokeAdventures thanks I will give that a go.
hiya Bazz ,could you give us a bit of info on the app upgrade , coudnt find clip , figuring you took it down due to strobing ..cheers
im findind the std low seat custom built for my legs amd shit to , but im gunna go a hi seat as well , you sorta get vertigo goin from standing to seated with the low rider cheers

Hi Bazz, Love your vids but should pay more attention to lighting. In this vid the subject (Moto) was back lit and quite hard to see. Keep up the good work 👍
Yes lighting is so hard when working in a little shed, I do try to avoid it. Thanks for watching.
He definitely won’t be in this years golden globe awards, he needs a lighting and sound team if he ever wants to be nominated
@@slakk5093 you guys are so harsh. 😃
@@bazz6670 that was sarcasm 😉 RUclips isn’t about high production values, it’s about information, and you’re doing that well 👍
Seen this guy's RUclips page? He has an answer for those seat rubbers. ruclips.net/video/BR4XtT6ErD4/видео.htmlsi=IcHPUCOTGFT4k1MD
That seat looks much better. I'll have to have a sit next time we catch up. I did find the standard seat a little off putting.
Yes you will like it better, might even get some bar risers yet. That will put you in a better position if you want to take it for a ride.
If you drop the rear shock to the low position, you may want to lower the front by slipping forks thru the same amount. Otherwise the geometry will be affected and bike will understeer and push the front, especially in the dirt.
@@Rowan-i7c Thanks for the tip. I'll see how it feels . Cheers.
Bazz, I was surprised to see the height difference with that new seat. Geez, my DRZ400E Seat Concepts seat was double+ that price. I'm impressed what the 450MT offers with the thought gone into the design. We have something in common, I'm the same height as you. 🤣
@bobdrakeford5731 G'day Bob, yes 30 mm makes a big difference. I'll lower it sometime and see how it feels. I'm pretty impressed with the bike it has lots of great features.
Try with your riding boots on. Might make it a bit more easier? Some riding boots have a thicker sole.
Yes this is true, thanks.
I modify my seats (DR650, KTM 500/690, Vstrom) and this seat looks excellent. The seating area is relatively flat and wide, which is what you want.
I used to modify my own as well, but it's so great not to have to with this bike for the price.
@@bazz6670 yes. CFMOtO is doing everything right. Bike seats and screens are the worst design elements of all bikes, especially adv bikes and I have heard good reports re the 450 screen too. As you would expect, I make my own screens from either modifying other screens or fitting appropriate ones. I am currently fitting a superb Aliexpress screen to my 690, same as the one I fitted to my 500. I fitted screens on a Husky Terra, BMW Xchallenge, DRZ400, DR650 as well.
@grayl5514 I've had attempts of making screens too but now at the price I just buy them . It's good you can do your own. The tall screen is pretty good on my bike just gets in the way a little when off road, I also just wind it up and down when needed.
How do you repair the problem with the water
Hi, if you are referring to subframe I have a video on that. Cheers.
@@bazz6670 yes my friend how did you repair that?
@robinmendozagomez8647 I flushed tube with fresh water then let dry in the sun for two days then you can treat with rust converter let dry and then I used fish oil or cavity wax then sealed holes with polyurethane. Or you can drill holes at bottom of subframe.
Would you happen to have the link there by any chance mate?
I ordered my parts through the cfmoto site and then they send order to local dealer.
Awesome. I had a seat on one and even for me the bike is very low!
Be a great bike for you, Andy. The low seat height was a great point to buy this bike for me.
Saludos desde España 🇪🇦 como se va a quedar, mi like
Hello to Spain, seat is good much better for long rides.
What side pannier frames are they please
Drz 400, modified to fit. I bought them off ebay.
Nice one Bazz, looks like the new seat is much more comfortable for longer trips. I think if you use the lower link you will lower the bike 20mm so it should be more manageable foot down wise. I think I will put 150/70/18 Motoz on mine as it should only increases the height by 7mm compared to the 140/80/18 which increases the height by 14mm. I am still waiting for my raised seat.
Hi David, I will give that a go in another video. Good idea about the lower profile tyres. Seat feels great.
Hi Bazza, have you lowered the link to the low position? That theoretically should give an 850mm seat height from the deck but being the tall seat will give you a less acute angle to the pegs. Cheers.
Hi Steve, I will be lowering bike. It feels good to have a little more leg room. Cheers.
Can you order the bike with the high seat or do you have to buy a second seat ?
No, I did ask when buying a bike, but you need to buy it as an accessory. Cheers.
Great video Bazz ride safe
@dynamadnessadventures205 Thanks Darren
How are you getting parts for this thing? Everywhere I look it says on back order.
Depends a bit on where you live . It did take nearly 4 months from ordering mine to actually get them.
Anyone know what is the torque of the front sprocket nut?
@David-m7f3g is it in the book that came with bike, I've misplaced mine so can't check
I dont think so @@bazz6670
Hi Bazz, Thanks for taking the extra time and effort for making this video. I think everyone will change the gearing. I'm curious to see in future if someone keeps the 14 tooth up front and drops 1-2 to 45-46 at the rear as a bit compromise to ensure suitable gearing for off road use. Time will tell.... Thanks again Bazz
@adrianwhite7251 Thanks for watching and commenting, you could easily do it that way. Front sprocket is just cheaper.
Great video, explains all the possible pitfalls. I've ordered a 450, delivery in March '25 so I'm stockpiling your videos for my' to do' list. Thanks again
@@adrianwhite7251 cheers mate , I'm glad the videos help you. Is that how long the waiting list is now.
Yes mate,,,, FISH OIL IS WHAT YOU NEED !
@chrispulham4779 thank you, there has been so many mixed comments about what to use and do. Bars are not rusty as yet. People seem to overreacted.
That oil won't help. You should dry the frame and pour in rust converter instead. Seal the hole by welding and paint the welded area.
Great video Bazz. Ride safe
