As always I enjoy your layout. I still want to shrink myself down to 1/87th scale and walk around it!😊 I have a Scaletrains SD40-2 that just dies, then comes back on. I emailed Scaletrains and they think I have lubricant on my wheel contacts. They said it’s and easy fix and gave me instructions. I have to basically take apart the locomotive and unsolder wires. I’m thinking, this is an easy fix? Needless to say I haven’t fixed it yet.

You techniquea are sound however the tecno type of music you selected was distracting, I muted it in order to watch you video.

I had a similar issue, which was some invisible gunk picked up on the wheels. Once cleaned with IPA it ran like a dream. If not that, you should check the pickup wires, as they can work themselves loose.

bill.... i am not really sure what it is, but the first thing i would check is the wires that power your trucks. some manufacturers solder them in place, but others just connect the wire to the metal receiving post with one of those little, black, plastic caps. its possible that even the slightest vibration can cause a poor connection, causing your engine to go off and on like it is. i am prayin' for ya !!! denny

Learned, Non sanded grout and matt medium. Been using IPA and school glue. and what ever dirt I could find. I guess both work fine.

Ever thought of making a model of the railways that go over the glens of Seneca lake? Once I have the ability that my goal in N-Scale, such as Watkins Glen, Rock Stream Gorge, Glenora Falls, and Silver Thread Falls in Lodi. Maybe also some on the Cayuga Lake as well.
