FAQ's
Q: Why do you have an FGLK loco with number 1995? That doesn't even make sense!
A: I know #1995 is not prototypical for FGLK. But FGLK was born in 1995. So there you go. It also sets the tone for my proto-freelance style.
Q: Why do you copy Boomer?
A: Because I want to improve my skills. And I want to show that you don't have to be an artist to get good results with his techniques.

First time weathering a locomotive 😎
Просмотров 86919 часов назад
I got a new Athearn MP15 loco and weathered it with Tamiya panel liner, the airbrush, and some Pan Pastels. I've weathered rolling stock before, but this is my first loco. I didn't have the skillset when I first got my other locos, and didn't want to mess up 2 Rapido engines, so I outsourced them. ✨ Link to Larry's Truck and Electric architecturalafterlife.com/2023/08/larrys-truck-and-electric/...

Always sunny in Watkins Glen👍 Super Bill
Very nice! Great video and fantastic layout. And Anthony is so talented, video recorder, throttle and running trains! Wow, I would have dropped the camera, lost the throttle and crashed the train. LOL Thanks for sharing.
Good stuff! It'd be cool to meet a fellow tuber!
Awesome video boyz
What a fun video! I agree with Mark, too - if you've got another room, I think Geneva should be next! If you don't, an addition should be next!
Nice tour. Do you have another room? You could make Dresden or Geneva!😀
I have a few "necessary" rooms, like a bedroom, kitchen, reading room 🚽😁. I wouldn't want a layout any larger than this. I love details. And the larger the layout, the longer it takes (in years) to detail it.
Great tour Anthony. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Great video. Anthony is a great guy and an awesome model railroader
Thanks, I really enjoyed his visit.
Excellent video and perspective!
Thanks Allen!
Looks real to me Bill👍
Thank you Darren!
Looks real nice
Thanks Joe I appreciate it!
WOW I liked Beutifull is Real
Thank you!
Very nice job! you made it look so easy!
Thanks! It was pretty easy, except for the dang UP logos lol.
Nice work weathering the locomotive! Number boards and lighting makes me think that was originally built for Southern Pacific.
Thank you! Appreciate the insight on the background of the model. Take care - Bill
Love the cool JaZZ … ever put in any Charlie Parker? Bird is cool.

hello, billy !!! hope all is well !!! don't ya' just love engines that are patched-out and all dirtied up ? i call them "sub-contracts" on my pike, and they really add a lot to any scene. as far as the up painted logo, i do not know what to advise you with for your next weathering job. like you, i use the various micro-sol products and even tamiyas' paint retarder with good success on decals. from the "non-removeable paint" angle, i generally paint over the original paint that i cannot remove ( in your case the up emblem) with a color that is very near the original color in a dry-brush technique, allowing for drying time. it gets maybe 2-3 dry-brush coats, then a decal of just about the same color goes over that, remembering that sub-contract companies, like ltex/furx/prlx, just want to sell or lease an engine to a customer in great running shape, not caring too much about looks !!! functionality runs the roost in this situation, so faded or "messy" patch-out jobs look really great, just like yours !!! well, my surgery is over and all went well... bills vs colts today, so i am cooking wings and beef on kimmelweck for 11 friends and will make about 100-120 wings, of which half will be your favorite KOREAN style that we talked about several months back !! bill, its just a beautiful autumn here in wny, and i am sure cny (your home area ) is about the same !!! RUN THAT LTEX HARD AND SHITCAN THE U-BOATS FOR SEVERAL GEEPS !!! just kiddin', billy !!! denny
Great to hear from you Denny, sounds like you're in a pretty good mood! Man I'm glad I don't have your grocery bill 💸 I didn't know you were having surgery, but I'm glad it went well. Thanks for sharing your take on the "non-removeable paint." Have a wonderful evening - Bill.
@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout 10-4 bill !!! u 2 !!!
I’d like to recommend that you use surgical gloves when handling the project to keep the oil and finger prints off the body.
Solid advice. Thanks Don!
Nice job
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Really nice transformation and weathering job Bill…need to send you mine 😊..
Thanks Anthony! Pretty sure you could do better. But if you're serious, send me the loco and the decals, no problem. Take care - Bill
@ no airbrush or airbrush skills…been debating on purchasing one and learning…
Great looking video, thanks for sharing this with us.
Thanks William, it was my pleasure! 😁👍
LTEX is in my back yard here in Ohio. Love your channel
Thanks! Oh that looks like a cool place. Have you ever checked it out?
I've had to renumber numerous Conrail Locomotives and Freight cars, I soak the lettering in Micro Sol let in set then use scotch tape to pull the lettering off, works great!! Love those switchers!!!
Yes, but the paint on the logos was way different. Probably could have tried a stronger solvent, but it all worked out with the patch job. Thanks for commenting!
Kyle coubett 😊😊😊😊❤❤
👍😎✨
I also like how well you hid your portal. I will be referring back to this scene when it's time to hide a couple on my layout.
Thanks, they're wire trees that I made.
Great video and perspective!
Thanks Allen!
Hit focus so we can see the detail on those engines
I know, I just figured out why it wouldn’t focus. I had the camera set to face detection instead of focus areas. That’s been driving me nuts for weeks 😦
Very nice Bill
Thanks Pappy, trying out a new video editor.
👍
😁✨👍👍
Love your op’s videos Bill. You’re my go to channel for this type of content. I’m learning as I watch so that when I finally ever “finish” my layout I’ll know how to better run the trains. Cheers, PB
Wow thanks Paul! Everybody has their own style for ops videos. You watch other guys. You run your ops. You find your own groove. 😎
nice layout thanks for the great vid you do on channel thanks lee
Thanks Lee, glad you enjoyed it!
love that 0-5-0 !
They come in "handy" 🫳😄
So realistic. Well done.
Thanks you, I appreciate it!
