Voyager Retro Flyby

Voyager 3D model by Alexander Klemm. All Phong shading, spotlights, and shadow maps. No PBR, no reflections, no GI, no area lights. I wanted to stay as true to 90s workflows as possible and see how much quality I could squeeze out.

Planet of the Apes (1968) Crash Sequence - Reimagined - 4K (UHD)
Просмотров 568 тыс.3 года назад
This effects-laden crash sequence was excluded from the original Planet of the Apes due to budget reasons. Here I have used CGI to "restore" it so to speak. I tried to emulate the 1968 effects aesthetics to the best of my ability. Earth matte painting provided by David Ross.

Prelude to Force Awakens - Battle of Jakku - Fan Speculation
Просмотров 40 тыс.8 лет назад
Back in April after watching the second Force Awakens teaser, I was struck by the image of the crashed Star Destroyer as pretty cool. I immediately began wondering and speculating on how it ended up there. As a tribute, I made this CGI animation of an opening battle scene of the Battle of Jakku as a realization of my thoughts. Fan speculation of course, and probably not accurate, but fun anyway...

Nice Job!
Short, but so majestic.
Big ship!!!
Did they crash into an orchestra string section?
180!!! 🎯
I would expect a scene like this to actually be in Star Trek movie from the kelvin timeline. The quality and animation of this scene is better than some of the newer Star Trek shows and movies. well done!
Absolutely marvelous! Such talent you have. I love this movie, I saw in a theater in it's first release. Your tribute is fabulous. I love it too.
How much time it took? What graphic card did you used ?
They should've purchased the extended warranty.
THE ORIGINAL AND THE BEST STILL HOLDS IT OWN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS JUST BRILLANT☄️
Too bad it ended up as a restaurant sign.
My opinion; Noa and Noah seen that spaceship at kingdom of the planet of the apes. Finally original series will connect to modern series.
For some reason, I was never sold on the idea that the ship was that small, and there had to be more than that nose cone. To achieve near the speed of light and eventually have to decelerate, there's no way those tiny engines could do it, not to mention the interior suggests only a small portion of the ship is dedicated to the power supply and life support systems.
Yes but the apes had to see the ship coming in thus verifing taylors story it would change the plot but without this scene the movie makes sense
Excellent work.
The beauty of the original crash sequence was its subjective point of view. It was simple yet captivating. Yours is typical of Hollywood crap...
I always aspire to Hollywood levels of professional work. Thanks!
@dbroadwayvfx why not aspire to do better?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm, quite interesting.
It's called the Narada Incursion now
Great concept!
Too bad the writers in Hollyweird don't have the talent to come with ideas like this. They just fall back on remaking movies that were successful.🙄
Good job. "We weren't programmed to land in the water".
It’s ok, but not better than the original.
After all the re-entry stuff hitting the water like that would have ended it...not good.
That was way better and more realistic. Just based on the flight path alone.
Nice job.....saw it summer of 68....audience erupted and clapped when taylor said take your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape!
The shot where it hits the water and blows water up in the air -- excellent.
NASA's finest and they couldn't figure out that they were on Earth by looking up at the stars or the HUGE Silver Globe orbiting the planet!
I know it is fiction, and nothig goes right, but the astronauts should have been awakened, to FLY the spaceship to a landing site of their choice. "We weren't supposed to land in water!"
Whoever designed the interior did a great job.
Nice calm day at Lake Powell.
Wow! Glad the Ship landed in the Water!
Nicely done!
That looks sooo sexy
Im so glad Picard S3 brought this big beauty back and gave it the happy ending it deserved among other legends in the Starfleet Museum. Also it’s implied it got one last year in service in the 25th century since it cuts to a year later when we see it being docked at the end. (Kinda makes sense after a good chunk of the main fleet would have been severely damaged at the spacedock battle.)
Really well done, guys. Had CGI existed in 1968, this is probably how it would have been staged.
Awesome work
Tubular, dude. 🤙🏾
Looks great! The only problem is: This view of the outside of the ship only accounts for the piloting seat area and doesn’t account for the area at the back that houses the sleep chambers…that section was under water in the original movie.
As an "old man" who loves these original movies and grew up as a child watching the TV series, this is awesome, well done.
When the _Icarus_ is burning through the atmosphere, I thought I heard the reentry sound effects from _Moonraker_ of all films when James Bond and Holly Goodhead pilot the Moonraker 5 space shuttle orbiter through the upper atmosphere to destroy Hugo Drax's last two doomsday nerve gas globes.
that ship looks way more capable than prime oberth
Fantastic work definitely worth putting onto the original
Damn this was cool!
Excellent Feels like it always belonged. Detail and quality was fantastic Thanks
This is fantastic perfect new entry should release the whole movie in advance screenings in cinema 😊🚀
Fantastic, superbly done, dear digital filmmaker, creator! Yes, this sequence should be added to the original film.
When I was a child, I watched the first movie on TV. Near the end, my dad, who was watching it with me, proudly said, 'Actually, this place is ___!' My sense of surprise was forever lost. This is a memory of my late foolish father.
This is amazing and well done! But wouldn't the first shot (with the worm hole) diminish the surprise ending?
Can you tell me how I can buy this model?😊

Can you update and reimage the sequence where Taylor made his final announcement while traveling in space in which the stars passing through space what fascinated me about the original film in which the stars passing through space in brilliant colors
