Bored Music
Канада
Добавлен 24 сен 2020
A music channel from A Bored Chick. Basically what happens when ya girl grows up wanting to work at MuchMusic but by the time she is grown up, it's basically gone. This is my attempt to bring back some of that joy. Throwback hit compilations, countdowns, and maybe I'll actually do a review someday...

All the Songs Played on TRL in 1998
This is a rundown of every song present that played on MTV's Total Request Live (TRL) in 1998. TRL ran every weekday on MTV from September 1998-November 2008. Viewers voted on the top 10 videos to be played each day.
The first episode of TRL aired on September 14th, 1998, so there's not too many videos for this year, but we already see the two main musical zeitgeists of the time competing here: boy bands and teen pop stars versus nu-metal and post-grunge.
Presented for archival and reporting purposes under fair dealing/fair use. I am not associated with MTV, Paramount or any record label/media company.

What’s Ren and Stimpy doing here 💀
1:01 😁
7:49 astounded… by “Bran Van 3000”?!?…. and Curtis Mayfield…. i would have gone to my grave not knowing if it weren’t for you.
Not a great year for music history
Avril Lavigne never got anything other than #1 from this chart, even for her less known songs...
Will you do 2010-2014 next??
99 was a great year, and this video made me very nostalgic for the past.... I sure do miss it
What a rough year for music lol
How'd Rise Against's "Audience Of One" get number 1? It's cool, but like...it's out there. Also weird to see the Canadian alternative rock bands like Faber Drive, Marianas Trench and Hedley get poppier because people really thought electric guitars weren't cool anymore. Good thing Billy Talent and Alexisonfire still sounded like actual rock bands.
I hate that that Billy Talent never made it big in the US. I mean, if Three Days Grace can, why not BT?
@@mesousagaby740 I know! Maybe their sound was just too heavy for mainstream US success? I’ve always found it funny that they are MASSIVE in Germany though.
@@Bored-Music So are Three Days Grace, though. Maybe BT were buried by not being emo enough due to the era?
Last Resort only got to number 4, wow. Couldn't get away from that song
I remember The Box Music station has well raised and grew up in early 2000s born 95 march
wait.... Duel of the Fates was on TRL?!? i have no recollection of this, but wow....
2005 was a crazy year. We saw Mac and the Foster's gang go bowling, Cheese make his debut on Foster's, Billy use his decoder ring he received in his cereal box to find the secrets of the universe, and yes, 2005 was also the year The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Ben 10, Camp Lazlo, and Avatar: The Last Airbender began their runs.
In 2003, we saw summer become my favorite season of all time. Also in 2003, the Fairly OddParents were hot property as well, and the episode, "Microphony", got us dreaming of a Vicky-Free summer. 2003 saw Codename: Kids Next Door first appear on every Favorite Episodes list from all around the world. One of the episodes, "Operation: T.H.E.-F.L.Y.", known for its lack of dialogue, won a Favorite Episodes Award for Best Writing.
2002 was the year Codename: Kids Next Door debuted on Cartoon Network. It was also the year Max & Ruby premiered.
2001 was the year of The Fairly OddParents, Lizzie McGuire, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Samurai Jack, and Oswald. Speaking of Oswald, who could forget the episode where he grew a "Big Banana" in his garden?
2000 - the year I was born. What a year. The Powerpuff Girls were hot property in 2000, and the episode, "Mojo Jonesin'", was everywhere. Clifford the Big Red Dog got his own television show the same year as well. Also, who could forget Emily Elizabeth throwing "The Best Party Ever" on her birthday? Oh, and also, "The Best Party Ever" features some of the best memorable last scenes ever, complete with Emily Elizabeth and her friends wearing their swimsuits.
Really... you're 24 and you like baby shows. Grow TF up.
1995 is the year that Mrs. Frizzle and her class learned about butterfly camouflage. It's also the year Gromble said television was bad. Oh, and 1995 was the year the children's live-action horror show, Goosebumps, debuted. Oh, and speaking of Goosebumps, the Goosebumps episode, "Phantom of the Auditorium", debuted, which would later appear on the Favorite Canada Episodes list 12 years later, and later reaching the #1 spot in April of 2008.
Ya perdí las esperanzas de encontrar ese video donde cantaba un hombre calvo, que aparecian imagenes de objetos nada mas, todo en un plano, con fondo claro. Ese video lo ponían esa epoca y no lo encuentro por ningun lado
1999 was the year we were introduced to SpongeBob SquarePants. And we were also introduced to the Eds from Ed, Edd n' Eddy. That, and Courage the Cowardly Dog. And two words: BUSTER'S BREATHLESS.
1997 was the year the Favorite US Episodes list was launched. Hey Arnold! spent 7 weeks at #1 on the Favorite US Episode list with "Benchwarmer". Swish! Oh, and Dexter kicked off the second season of Dexter's Laboratory by growing a synthetic beard.
2006 is the year we saw Mr. Krabs turn the Krusty Krab into a hotel, Drake and Josh pull an alien invasion prank on their sister, and many more. Oh, and three words: THE WONDER PETS!. And 2006 was also the year French RUclipsr Gregory Ferrandis's favorite My Gym Partner's a Monkey episode, "Kerry to Dance?", premiered. Gregory Ferrandis can thank "Kerry to Dance?" for its premise and writing, and for making him roll on the floor laughing when Adam and Jake fight at the end of the episode.
2017 might be the final year for the MuchMusic countdown, but it's still the year Dot., Paw Patrol, Nella the Princess Knight dominated the Favorite Episodes list. 2017 was also the year Nature Cat hit #1 on the Favorite US Episodes List thanks to the Favorite Episodes Award-winning "Puddle Pool Party". Oh, and did we mention Hurricane Irma hit Tampa, Florida, in 2017, leaving us without power for a few days?
2016 was the year we see Mutt & Stuff and Nature Cat dominate the Favorite US Episodes list.
2015 was the year of Star vs. The Forces of Evil! That's right: this Disney XD original show made audiences laugh thanks to its #1 global smash hit episode, "Party with a Pony".
2014 is the year Clarence premiered on Cartoon Network.
That show was the stuff. I love it.
@@okjeffy6581 Hello. Good afternoon. My name is Brian López. What is your favorite episode of My Gym Partner's a Monkey? Please let me know in the comments down below.
@@okjeffy6581 Hello. Good afternoon. What is your favorite Clarence episode? Please let me know in the comments down below.
2013 was the year Dora the Explorer became a superstar thanks to the Nickelodeon premiere of the episode, "Dora Rocks!".
In 2009, Johnny Test scored its highest-charting entry on the Favorite Canada Episodes list with "The Good, The Bad & the Johnny", which peaked at #2 in April of 2009.
2008. The year Skunk Fu! reached #1 on the Favorite Canada Episodes list with "The Art of Stickiness".
God I love Alexisonfire
No Stigmata/Heart Stops Beating? It was in heavy rotation back in the day.
Out of all the countdowns you’ve posted, this ones easily my favourite.
7:57 yes this one is my favourite. The nostalgia is impeccable.
I have a question. What Would you think the 2018-2023 countdowns would look like??
Why was I expecting Gitchee Gitchee Goo from Phineas and Ferb to be on this list lol??
Hello. Good afternoon. My name is Brian López. That's a good point. Speaking of Phineas and Ferb, what is your favourite The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy episode? Please let me know in the comments down below.
A legend was born…
❤
No, Diddy. You don’t need a girl after what recently happened.
The was the final much music countdown show ever before it signed off the air for good
I was 7 this year.
This is the year I was born, with Independent Women Pt. 1 being the number 1 song as of January 11.
I thank you for making me feel like I’m 9 again. :D
Thanks for making me feel like I’m 8 again. :)
RIP Much Music Latin America (1992 - 2024)
Ugh, I heard about this recently. Sorry to hear that. If it's any consolation, Much exists in name only in Canada now, the channel is just used for Simpsons reruns pretty much, no music.
Back in 96 I recall a trend that quickly took over music videos at the time and you can see it in this video. Suddenly there was a very unnatural colouring. The Bryan Adams videos are a good example of this, see around 8:55. There's this green-yellow tint to everything and you don't really see this look that much in 95. It just suddenly became the thing that everyone was doing and it drove me insane at the time. If the MuchMusic VJ indicated they were going to show a new video from so-and-so I felt I could just assume it would have the weird colouring.
Well it’s the only thing that looks good on them. (I took the joke from the song you posted the timestamp on).
6:39 I can’t believe you muted the best one on this list.
Not up to me unfortunately, the video was blocked for a while because of that song so I muted it :(
2004 rules! "Operation: B.E.A.C.H.", my favorite Codename: Kids Next Door episode, premiered on Cartoon Network in 2004! Also, the premiere of The Backyardigans was hot property as well.
This video made me Cry. 2016 was such a better year compared to 2021.
