Hi, from UK, do you know of someone who could help me refurbish a pond yatch in the UK, please Martin
I just could not choose which is best.... so I ordered one of each set of plans! lol
if some factory can manufacture this boat ,it will be great.
Thank you for the reply sir
Brilliant work, she is gorgeous. I hope to find the plans for her. 😊
Just starting. I know nothing. ❤ it already.
Wow, what a superb video. I'm an aeromodeller, about to make hatches for my first ever RC boat, so this tutorial is super helpful! Thanks, from the UK.
Gorgeous!
What do you seal your wood with?
After assembly, I seal the wood with "clear penetrating epoxy sealer". Several epoxy companies sell this type of product .
Mám ANNIE jedí skvěle..
Nice and agile boat, congratulations
Hello Gery, some of my friends said I should look for something to do for my upcoming retirement and the coming winter months and recommended that I build a sailing ship. Me and ships, not a good omen *ggg* So I just did some research on the internet out of curiosity and only came across your channel by chance and have watched a few of your videos so far. Unfortunately I don't really understand your language (I can't speak English) but I was so fascinated by your ships and building skills that I gave you my subscription. 2 days ago, I also ordered 2 construction plans from you "Anni and Irene". Since I first have to familiarize myself with these plans and translate a lot into German, it will be a while before I dare to tackle these projects. I have already looked at the material. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions and issues, e.g.: bending shape - length and angle of the Pelikan pins, but there are forums for that. Keep it up, let us continue to share in your projects and I wish you good health and success with your channel. Regards Anton
Thanks, good info. FYI, lobster fishing we only put 3 tucks in our rope, never let go. I sometimes tapered to 2 then 1 strand more.
Thanks for that input. I suppose the type of rope used makes a big difference. Cheers !
@@sailtails2775 your splices looked real nice, nothing wrong there. 😊
thats video inspired me search my favourite ship plan and cut frame parts to hull. one meter size LOA endeavour J-Glass race boat, little modificated own size and not to race. next need buy 4mm plywood and cut my DIY cnc machine all parts out off plywood.
I first saw your videos about 3 to 4 years ago when the dark age of Covid and lockdowns kept the world in suspense... thank you very much for your videos, which brighten up my days
This all has to be sorted before I move on to sorting the deck & hatches out. Thanks for the video.
Good mother Mary's chickens! I think we've hit a reef!
That was beautifully explained again. Very enjoyable and full of information. Thanks. Tom (from France - now subscribed)
That was a beautiful video - you explain things so clearly! And Emma is a very pretty boat. Many thanks. Tom (from France - more of a plane modeller, but thinking of turning my hand to a wooden yacht).
Ein wunderschönes Modell. Vielen herzlichen Dank für die tollen Pläne. Grüße aus Deutschland 😊
I have built some of these ship models years ago and it is good to see that there are people still about who can build models like this, in a world where instant “entertainment” seems to be all that is tolerated now. Well done. At one time most local parks or otero open spaces had a model boat pond and they were regularly used by model makers with all kinds of craft. Nowadays all people seem interested in is tapping on a computer keyboard.
Just wondering what weight of cotton poplin you prefer?
As I understand it, cotton poplin normally weighs 110 - 130 grams per square meter. This about like a common bed sheet or pillow case. Not much variation, but choose the heavier if there is a choice to be made. Stick with "cotton poplin".
3:30 that is such a clever way to do it!
Bravo Zulu.
Beautifull
I love your videos !!!! Thank you for sharing your techniques and wood working skills !!!
Great to see you again Gary! Tool boax is more work than I need but I’m sure you enjoyed building it. How about more how to videos?
What a beautiful vessel
I enjoy your work and videos, there not loud and cut with a bunch of 2 second scenes, anyway thanks I'll keep watching and waiting for your next helpful and enjoyable post.
I'm enjoying your work and videos. Thanks
Helpful indeed! Many thanks, I took a lot of notes.
Very interesting, thank´s
So how does one fix this? bigger ballast? smaller sail? I've never built a sail boat, but I;m getting curious... About 2/3rds done building a 1/4 size replica of a small boat the PM-38 available on Svensons, and thinking of the next boat already
I love the size of emma but prefer the design or irene. Do you think its possible to resize the 147cm plan size of irene to 100cm just like emma?
This is possible, though boats perform best at their designed size. See this video from a fellow who built his 'Irene' at 80% size. ruclips.net/video/P0nS7YAosCs/видео.html
I love the design of irene but prefer the size of emma :(
I love your videos! I've got a problem with the winch line set up. Where and how do you hook the sails up to the sheet?? Please help. It's driving me crazy. I got it all set up like you do but you never show how to hook up your sails to the sheets. I would be so happy if you could make avid in that. Thank you.
There will be many variations of this depending on boat's arrangement and sail plan. Generally, in the case of sails fitted with booms, the sheet will attach to the boom. My schooners are set-up so the sheet has a two part advantage over the boom. This video shows how that is set-up. ruclips.net/video/f93MWmfWSeg/видео.html

VERY NIFTY INDEED!
What would happen if you added some led shot at the bottom of the rudder? Will it damage the rudder in any way?
Hello Gary, thank you for showing us such quality content and helping people like us to get into the fantastic world of boat modelling. I was wondering if you could suggest me any reliable website to buy RC sailboat electronics to start with my first project, or if it's possible to convert a normal servo into a winch by somehow make it rotate several times instead (which would save me some time and money) Again, thank you for your attention. Warmest regards Fernando (from Spain)
Tapering masts and spars is easy. Chuck one end in drill and a pointed end nail sticking out sticking out of vise or a piece of wood. Push the spar against nail and turn on drill holding with one hand. With other hand roll the sandpaper around spar and hold. You just created crude lathe. Might have taken me 30 minutes to do all mine for Emma.
Sir can I get one sailing boat a from mnaipur
Superb explanation Gary!
Beautiful workmanship.
Neato!
Hi Gary, and yet another success from bearospace technologies, I love to see your creations. I'm still building your/ my gaff rigg cutter, she's been on hold a little while as we're getting married very soon and I've been real busy building lots if accessories for the big day, bit I've promised Debbie that after we're wed I will be going back to finishing the build of Ziggy, you mentioned a while back that you do a hints and tips for building the ballast keel, I wonder if you might have something in the pipe line, I've never done anything like that before so any help would, as always gratefully received. Love and best wishes, from Martin and Debbie.
