G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000 - Low Latency Champ
G.SKILL's Trident Z5 Royal NEO aims to provide the best performance for AM5 platforms by offering a moderate speed bin with a low CAS latency of CL28. This kit is more than about performance however, as it is part of the ROYAL series, that feature crystal diffusers and polished metallic heatsinks. These are arguably one of the best-looking DRAM kits money can buy right now.

X870E boards are plentiful on the market, but there's one that stands out in terms of cost efficiency and that's the GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WiFi7. It costs less than many vanilla X870 boards, while featuring more, including dual USBv4 ports, supports up to three Gen5 M.2 drives simultaneously and DDR5 8200 to boot. It may not be as tricked out as some other boards, but for what it is at its...

Thank you for this detailed and informative video. This is exactly what I was looking for!
I was about to get the MSI MPG X870E Carbon Wifi when stocks ran out. Wootware has them again now but the price has jumped R2000! Sigh. Might get this one instead. Really wanted the MSI board though.
Xtx gigabyte gaming oc, sapphire pulse or merc 310 black, is there any significant difference out of the box or just design
Just design. Buy the one that bets serves your pocket. I'd not even bother about the factory OC
@TheOverclockerMagazine like all 3 are at 750$ +/- 10$
What’s difference between this and the E?
A bunch of features that I personally don't think will matter to 99% of people 99.99% of the time.
Well nobody will buy 13th 14th for half the money now they admitted quick degradation issues.
Numbers say otherwise as 13th and 14th Gen continue to sell. Don't mistake YT comments and forums as representing the entire market. Less than 5% of people had issues with their CPUs. Moreover the issue has been mitigated now. At the reduced prices 14th and 13th Gen represent great value.
@@TheOverclockerMagazine Lucky guy I am I'd win that lottery.
性能很不错的,大概340w 14900K压制在100℃以内
Sadly, only 2.5GbE.
Fair enough, but most people still only have 1Gbps connections so not too much of an issue I think
does this motherboard have built in wifi ?
It's in the name, so yes it does 😎
Thanks for Clip 👌👌
I think No need to think about x870 mobos for the 9900x beast. B650E-F is more than enough. Thank you for beautiful video.
Great video. Do you think that 4x24GB CUDIMMS of this model can run at 8000Mhz or at least 7200Mhz stable on a Ultra 9 285K? I need at least 96GB on my system for heavy creative tasks
96GB @ 8000 is possible for sure, just depending on the IMC and it's capabilities
@@TheOverclockerMagazine So, it depends on the Mobo itself then. It's an ASUS ProArt Z890, not an OC Mobo you are usually using. I am asking for your experience, since it's a lot of investment to get 2x kits of Kingston Fury Renegade 8000Mhz DDR5 Limited Edition, which are very expensive in Europe. I think that they are the only 8000Mhz 2x24GB CL32 kits on the market. The CL is also very important for AI apps as well, on the contrary the 8000Mhz speed benefits the 3D apps a lot (V-Ray/Corona/C23 etc). Thank you
@xarisathos They are CL36. Rather check the QVL of your Motherboard for supported speeds at those capacities
@@TheOverclockerMagazine I always do and the 2x24GB kit is mentioned on the QVL page of ProArt Z890. The manufacturers do test only the available commercial kits like this one, but never the combinations that users want to make. There are 4x48GB kits (from Corsair) but at much worse speeds and CLs (5200Mhz@CL38), since these aren't CUDIMMs. I am totally inexperienced on CUDIMMs and I am asking you if now, because of the on-board controller, the 4x24GB DIMMs will be stable enough at the advertised speeds and latency. It's well known that once you populate all 4x DIMM slots, the advertised speeds drop a lot. For the Ultra 200 series the speeds drop at 4800Mhz (for SS)/4400Mhz (for DS) and for Ryzen 9000 at 3600Mhz (I think) as it did with Zen 3. I have seen a video about Ryzen getting 192GB (4x48GB) @6000Mhz from the original kits of 6400Mhz, considering the fact the Ryzen have worse IMCs than Intel in general. Please enlighten me, because it will be a huge sacrifice for my workflow to get only 96GB (4x24GB), instead of 192GB on the 285K, but if I can reach 8000Mhz@CL36 it will be a great trade-off for frequent Handbrake transcoding and AI training apps that are very memory sensitive workflows, as you have shown on your videos. Thank you in advance for your time
You know how mf hard to find this video? I had the same CPU and I was looking for 14700K cooling. Thank you for sharing the results.
Well you should grab whilst there is stock ;)
This is true
Can you do a video of your 2x32GB overclock bios settings with asus mobo on the 14700 please?
Will do. May not be these same sticks, but they will be dual rank A-die ICs so should apply to universally to some degree.
@TheOverclockerMagazi oh yes that works for me. I'm using vengeance 2x32 3800c32 kit. Thanks!! You got a new sub
hey does the Gigabyte Z790 GAMING X AX mob have a good vrm count? u cant find it anywhere.
This is a budget board using what I think are 60A power stages in a teamed setup, at least for the CPU cores. So essentially an 8+8 design. This should be more than enough for regular use and overclocked settings (barring LN2 overclocking). I'd not stress too much about it unless if you are indeed looking to do some LN2 overclocking with an i7/i9
@ thank you
oh man.... the site and manual both clearly stat that the 8 pin PCIE connector on the board is not for the VGA or GPU overclocking.... literally its for whatever USB-C port you plug in will get data but not give the proper output power (fast charging) unless you plug in the that 8 pin for more power to the USB-c.. good luck to you and your followers man
I'll have to update the video description to reflect that. Thanks for the heads up!
yeah man you really do know your stuff about the board ! like a lot that people do not understand. but just be aware of the nitro path boards and what does not have that
great review but the nitro path tech is really only present in the 4 dimm boards... not the 2 dimm.. like the apex.. which is all the review talks about so yeah. just to let everyone know the nitro path does not come on this board
That's true, Nitro Path is a 4-DIMM feature. I should have made that clearer.
won ASUS TUF GAMING AX4200 better upgrade ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000??
Nah, unless there's something specific you want in that model you're good
Omg finally a good review, the ram setup, ultra settings in games while keeping low res to avoid gpu bottleneck... Thank you!!! I hope you make more reviews like this and find success. Maybe some max OC comparisons 14900k vs 285k vs 9800x3d? 😇
gigabyte aorus waterforce x ii 360 ice vs gigabyte aorus waterforce ii 360 ice
The "II" in the name means it's the updated version. Much better than the first in performance and screen function
How did you get the OC 5600 memory setting on that board? Was it an option to pick or was it manual settings?
Manual. Most decent to good Adie should do this easily
Ty for review, I got the Mobo, can u tell pls how to activate the rgb logo?
It doesn't activate per say, that's an optical effect. There's no RGB lighting there
I just built a 245K and so far it works well. It overclocks great 5.5P's and 5.0E's without a lot of voltage or heat. It runs DDR5 7600 @ 8000 cl34 however the best latency I can get is 67.1. It does 27K R23 multi. and it does all of this and stays cool. I understand that Intel is working on the short comings of this series and should have a fix very soon? I only play an older game that is unaffected by all of this. Chiplet latency is costing about 10% and I hope they addresses that...
We need more reviews of this style! Well done, thank you
Thank you for the kind words
Awesome review! What's the biggest difference between this board and the Hero if building a 4k gaming PC?
This is meant for pushing peak performance, whereas the hero is more focused on the quality of life features. Hero won't necessarily make the same DRAM speeds either, while the Apex is almost tuned for this. In everyday functions though I'd take the apex
On Z590 Gaming X i dont have Advenced Profile and no igpu overclocking options :(
That sucks. Sorry about that. I never did use that motherboard ever
@@TheOverclockerMagazine its good MB but lacks some features, i dodnt expect that, maybe its because im using i3 cpu ?
@ViperBenchmarks what are you trying to do? For instance, high speed memory is difficult with non K SKU CPUs especially i3. The IMC is generally weak, so memory may struggle with 4000+. But there shouldn't be too many features you are sacrificing versus an i5.
@@TheOverclockerMagazine just add some mhz for igpu, mem oc works fine on i3 [im using 3600mhz ram and dont need more]
Ive owned this board for about 6 months now and it has been rock-solid. Makes for a great ML workstation with tons of options for fast storage.
That's awesome to hear! Glad you're getting a lot of use out of it! 👍
what do you put into the radiator?
You're not supposed to put anything into the radiator. It's an AIO, and needs no servicing of the coolant
Good reviews friend. Right now I have doubts regarding a pc that I am assembling in pieces, I am still on it and the processor I have chosen is an I7-147000kf + 4070 Ti Super + 32 Gb ddr5 + WD Black SN770 2TB SSD Disk 5150MB / S NVMe PCIe 4.0 M. 2 Gen4, I am missing the box that I have located, the source that will surely be an 850w Bronze and I am missing the motherboard, this is where I am having quite a bit of doubt. Taking into account the prices I can get, do you advise me for that configuration? MSI MPG Z790 Edge TI MAX WiFi (253 €) or Gigabyte Z790 AORUS Elite X WIFI7 Motherboard (252 €) or MSI Z790 GAMING PLUS WIFI (200 €), which one would you recommend? Or do you have a better option for those prices? Greetings.
Apologies for the late reply. I'd go with Gigabyte as I've not used an MSI board in almost 10 years so can't speak to their quality. However I do use Gigabyte boards often, so that's where I have info. I say go with GBT from my end. Great specs BTW, really nice 👌🏾
Does anyone know where there’s the gold version of this in stock? Can’t find it anywhere
Yeah seems these are far less common than the silver modules in many regions

Love the video bro
Appreciate the kind words! 🤝
Does it actually affect input lag ?
No, not at all.
@ lol then what is the point of low latency?
wow I knew it was bad but I didn't know it was this bad. What a shitty product my 13900ks on 3800 bdie looks like a stud compared to this shit lol. Thanks for the review I was looking for the aida data
Can you show on mainbord setting your configuration for 8200 frequency?
It's just XMP with the ratio set to 8200 instead of 8000. Nothing fancy. Usual trefi at 131071 etc. Basically what Asus gives you if you select XMP tweaked
This looks sexy
Mouse is not butter smooth for me in the bios. Its horrible laggy! Have you tried the latest bios? I updated to most recent one because i am pairing the 9800x3d
Not used the latest BIOS. If it has lag now that would really be unfortunate.
@TheOverclockerMagazine mouse and keyboard totally won't respond to my keystrokes for the first 30seconds! Then it will all come in at once
Is this better than the gigabyte aorus white mobo ? Similar calibar
They are identical. The ICE edition has the exact same specs as this model

What, for real? I had no idea they had different SKUs for different markets ok this board.
That sounds like the Wifi model and not the Wifi II
@@TheOverclockerMagazine You're right! Wow I didn't realize there was a WiFi II Version. Black Friday pricing is already starting in Canada, so the WiFi 6E version is $500 CAD after taxes (~ $6500 SAR), and the WiFi II is $530 CAD after taxes ($6850 SAR). That sounds like such an in incredible machine. Actually it is the fastest gaming setup money can buy. Should be an incredible experience
I paired this with a 7950x3d, because Micro Center offered it as a bundle deal and I can't decide if it was a good idea or a good pairing since these were made for the 9xxx generation of CPUs. Already having some problems w/ memory compatibility and stability....unsure of what to do.
At what speeds are you have memory incompatability? 6000 and 6400 should not be an issue whatsoever even for 7000 series.
Is it RGB?
Nope. No RGB anywhere
it's great to see a South African perspective for PC enthusiasts!

I bought it and it says 6000mhz with cl30-40-40. does this mean i have cl30 or cl40 kit? (sorry i am new at pc builds)
That's CL30. If anyone writes 6000 CL30 they are usually if not always talking about the CAS Latency. So you have a CL30 kit. Which is the good wine with great IC's. 😉
