    My one screen is completely went off and it won't turn on. Is there anything i can fix it?

    • @sierracoolsvegas
      @sierracoolsvegas День назад

      Typically if the screen went blank it lost the 24v from the furnace that powers it, or an internal safety has tripped. You can check to ensure your FAU/furnace breaker is on. Depending on location of the furnace you can get to see if there is a light switch (service switch) in the area that might have been turned off by accident. If these do not fix the problem, reach out to a licensed and bonded HVAC contractor.

    It is January and cold. I have my upstairs thermostat set at 68 and the downstairs set at 66. The actual temperature upstairs is currently 75 and 66 downstairs. Three days ago I replaced my upstairs thermostat because I thought that the old thermostat was broken because I was getting similar readings. I’m going to turn the thermostat upstairs to 70 and the thermostat downstairs to 64 and see if the temperature up and downstairs will equalize.

    • @sierracoolsvegas
      @sierracoolsvegas 8 дней назад

      I would recommend having a licensed HVAC professional check the system as there is an issue with airflow or insufficient heating. If your filters are located upstairs, you can turn the fan on the downstairs thermostat, this will pull the warm upstairs air through the system and back downstairs without heating anything else up.

    My electric bill is high .In order to lower my bill should i just turn it off when not needed OR use the economy leaf.Am i still drawing electricity with the leaf? Are thermostats supposed to run 24 hrs?

    • @sierracoolsvegas
      @sierracoolsvegas 17 дней назад

      When it comes to electrical consumption there is a hand-in-hand act between cost and comfort. As you increase comfort you will increase cost, as you decrease comfort you can save in cost. There are some factors of where you live and what time of year, however while you are gone you can use the eco mode (the leaf). This will reduce your electrical consumption. During the harsh seasons it is never recommended to turn off the systems as it can cause damage to the home in the form of warping drywall or cracks appearing. The system should not be running 24 hours unless in the peak seasons. If it is running all the time check your fan option, it may be set to ON. Auto is default setting.

    This happened to me with my new just installed $145.00 PRO1 T855iSH Went opening the lid to program and from the holes on the side to my finger tip got a static shock now the display will not show room temperature only says "LO" It was showing room temp before the static shock. My humidity is low 10-20%

    • @sierracoolsvegas
      @sierracoolsvegas 24 дня назад

      The 'Lo' or 'Hi' indications on the display mean that the temperature cannot be measured because the temperature is outside the temperature range. Press the on/off button to switch off the thermometer. Check if it is correctly positioned, press the on/off button again to switch it on, and re-start the measurement. There is a possibility the static shock caused a malfunction of the thermostat. be sure to check your warranty.

    I don’t think I have a disconnect switch? If If I do it’s not a simple flip lid. I have to unscrew 4 screws to take the cover off. Is that the disconnect? That’s the only thing I see around.

    • @sierracoolsvegas
      @sierracoolsvegas 24 дня назад

      The style here is a very common disconnect here in Las Vegas, different variations may be used around the country or varies by age of the home or system. If unsure, we would never recommend opening electrical panels that are secure. Having a professional HVAC technician take a look would be a safe option.

    My house is freezing!!!! Literally set it to 81 Fahrenheit and my house won’t warm up past 69. It’s like -10 degrees outside and I can’t warm up my house to save my life. Like what is going on?!!

    • @sierracoolsvegas
      @sierracoolsvegas 24 дня назад

      We are so sorry to hear that your system is not keeping you comfortable. Unfortunately, its rarely the thermostat causing the discomfort, this could mean something is going on with the system itself. If its -10 degrees and your system is a heat pump, utilizing Auxiliary heat usually will close the gap. I do recommend getting a licensed HVAC profession to your home immediately.

      This can be super frustrating, sorry to hear you are going through it. When changing the temperature there is a hold option on the second button from the left. Press this till "Temporary hold" shows, this will follow your programmed schedule on the next scheduled time/temperature setting. If you are raising the temperature with "Permanent Hold" on and the temperature is not raising inside the home, you may need to get a licensed HVAC professional to fix the unit.

    • @sierracoolsvegas
      @sierracoolsvegas 24 дня назад

      I am glad you asked, this can be very different from each technician/company. The best thing to do is have a licensed HVAC tech conduct a static pressure test with the different filters. this test will tell how well your system of "breathing" with the different MERV ratings. The usual cause of failure in components is not changing the filters often enough. Here in Las Vegas, we recommend every 30 days, especially with the higher MERV ratings. Higher MERV means it collects more particles, causing the filter to "fill" faster, even if not full of dust.

    • @MrPir84free
      @MrPir84free 17 дней назад

      Use a MERV 8 filter for the AC. And get a very good multi-stage air cleaner to run in the house. Something with 5 or 7 stages, and at least some sort of washable pre-filter . Change out the HVAC filters on a good schedule; and pay even closer attention to the multi-stage air cleaner. You will not want to go cheap on the multi-stage air cleaner.

      There are 2 possible codes for this thermostat, older models are set to 1234, newer models use the last 4 of the serial and add 1234 to this, for example if the last 4 are 4342+1234= your PW is 5576. The serial is located on the back, simply pull the face of the t-stat off the wall, on the back you can look near the top right and there will be 4 numbers isolated, those are the last 4. I really hope this helps.

    WTF…have to know the exact time to set for 30 min or 1 hr? That sucks big time. My HVAC person installed a new central until with these thermostats in several rooms, supposedly with zoning, had to adjusted as the zoning didn’t work initially. Now I don’t see a way to quickly set in for 30 min or so. I initially wanted mini split units in each room, but he said this was better. I have 1 mini split in my BR and love it. With a remote I can set it in seconds to 30 min, 1, 2 hrs etc. up to 24 hrs. I think it’s a cheaper unit, but works so well. It cools IMMEDIATELY. The central unit works but setting in on heat it takes quite a few minutes for any heat to arrive, and meanwhile I’m freezing. Annoying! I’m sure I’ll get used to this but don’t like it much yet, plus I think it will cost more to run! Even if only a single room is getting heated or cooled, the whole unit is firing up and all electric. Gas is cheaper. This will raise my already high electric bill. 😮

    Device is for Heat/Cold and Fan. Temporary Hold VS Hold: Temporary hold is defaulted, some customers in the 2000s wanted to have their thermostats change temp in their house while they aren't home or sleeping, This mode allows you to set temperature by date and time down to the four categories of " Wake, Away, Home, and Sleep". 4 times a day your temperature can be set at different intervals without you having to change it. Hold is to override all previous information mentioned above. Hold allows you to set a temperature and the device will make your house pump heat or cold constantly or automatically turning on and off the heater/cooler to maintain the set held temperature. If you are waking up at 6:30am and are cold in the morning you could set a TEMPORARY HOLD so that "Wake" is set to 6am. Every morning, you will have heat pumping at that moment and in the every morning to follow starting at 6am. Or: If you wake up at 6:30am and are cold in the morning you could change the temp and set it to HOLD and the device will keep your house that temp until you turn it off which is back to Temporary hold aka your scheduled 4 different intervals as mentioned above. Setting up the a temp for all 4 intervals "wake, away, home, sleep" is the recommended way to use the thermostat to allow an opportunity of "piece of mind" that you don't have to constantly change your temp manually from a dial. HOLD is acting like a dial style thermostat, the downside being you could be using more energy and costing more money over time by keeping your house a high or low temp depending on the season and power consumption. Hope this helps an old video.

    To be honest, I'm scared when it comes to electricity. I think it's much better to call an electrician coz lack of knowledge is dangerous. Right now the compressor unit or condenser as what my research indicates is very noisy even when AC is turned off and the office told me to turn off the breaker because there was no one available to come over until Monday, but im not confident turning off the breaker.
