Stalker 2's fake A-Life is embarrassing and disappointing, events spawning in a mere 100 meters away is laughable. This is what we get with lazy modern game development and Unreal Engine 5 pre-baked engines. A-Life was never really possible on console I bet nor with Unreal 5 Engine, but they advertised it as a key game-play feature and put it into promotional material and trailers and documentaries. Then they deleted all mentions of A-Life from the Steam Store Page right before release, and had a review embargo until the final hour. Deceptive and manipulative marketing and a genuine shame to see from GSC. As someone who has played the original trilogy and mods for well over a decade now and was waiting so long for Stalker 2 I don't see myself purchasing or even downloading this game. It launched with no A-Life, and now all we get is some event spawning system that only works within 100 meters of the player. I don't think there will ever be true A-Life in Stalker 2, more a less " A-Life 2.0 ". It was all just a marketing gimmick they used to fool long time fans like myself.

Exodus is much more advanced in terms of weapon animations and handling. I wish Stalker 2 had Exodus' weapon handling.

In Metro you can insert a magazine and if you didn’t have time to close the shutter and started running or changed weapons, you just need to close the shutter and in Stalker you can completely reload.

Great side by side comparisons! I rarely see this in such videos. In my opinion, nothing is wrong with the game graphics (I'm not saying you meant that), it's just how the city and environment should looks like depending on the lore. Distance fog and color compositions are showing the dusty toxic air of the city. Mods like LUT's and "Removed Distance Fog" that alter those are changing how the game is *supposed* to look like to something that doesn't fit the story, but obviously they are great to play around with sometime and enjoy photorealistic graphics with some added Reshade tweaks.

You have to understand different between them you go to read technical papers about water splash written for it. For example bf4. The technic which is used in metro was introced firsr with bf4 in game industry. basically uses Dynamic created ripple tessalation maps for water surface geometry(black and white texture map, mostly low res)

In stalker water ripples are basically animated decals. But metro its not

Gamma is the result of the work of thousands of individuals (I mean mod creators, not just Grok) and years of work, so it's not surprising it feels so modern. In comparison to the bare game (I mean CoP)... well, let's not compare the two

I can able to play metro but not stalker 2 cause of the optimization. I want to play stalker 2 but something feels of when ı see the gameplay of this game u are in this game but the world is not live enought to keep you in and the animations too. So you are going to say that the dogs and the anomaly keeps you active and giving the open world another perspective BROOOO wtf are you talking about yes they keep you in but the movement and the animation and the backstory doesnt keeps me in any more.

This only shows that GAMMA, a jerry-rigged definition of spaghetti-code made by hundreds of modders over the years on a single-threaded old ass engine is on par and sometimes better than a AAA game backed by Microsoft itself on the most advanced engine currently available.

I believe stalker can become a superb game if only they would fix all the bugs.. but the physics and details looks better in stalker 2 imo...

I think your thunderstorms in GAMMA are bugged because mine don't look like that. It couldn't also be one of settings. Anomaly and GAMMA have so many settings and there are some on GAMMA you're not supposed to use.

Fyi., reputation system was removed for a very very good reasons.

There are many wasted stuff, like the pripyat wheel, the circus anomaly, the army Warehouse, etc. Feels kinda empty

Metro Exodus looks miles ahead of Stalker 2 while running better to. Have never seen a better RT implementation.

If Metro released today I wouldnt question it from the graphics alone Proves how you dont need ue5 and ray tracing for everything, although I understand that its easier for devs to make games in ue5 since lighting isnt done manually

Metro Exodus is good but despite all the flaws Stalker 2 has I enjoyed it far more than metro. Its just more opened and non linear, with your actions having consequences and leading to different outcomes in the long run.

You can drown in all metro games, just find a spot deep enough
