I just haven't gotten around to it due to irl problems weighing me down. I still plan to port as much as I can to Wii one day.

He was created to be a test enemy early in development before other enemies were created. (Bumblebee was the first character created for the game, so they tested a lot of early mechanics using only him) The fact that something from such early development was leftover is surprising, given how most other things from that era of the games development no longer exist. Story wise, he doesn't really have a story other than just being a mysterious enemy who appears, so you can pretty much believe whatever you want to believe about him.

That mod wasn't made for 2.0, so there is no fix. I need to make and upload a custom version of it (plus a bunch of other extra mods) for 2.0 specifically before you'll be able to use special abilities like that with the mod loaded. (Updating the extras folder is something I've been hoping to do all year but haven't had the time to do it yet. Hopefully soon)

@@DigitalArctic Ahh ok I see, also I didn’t install the whole alternative mod into the 2.0 mod. I just took the extra mods folder which had the special abilities and placed those into the 2.0 mod. But either way I didn’t know the special abilities pack from the alternative mod wasn’t compatible with 2.0. The only reason I asked if there was a fix is because I’ve seen Barricade24 play with the special abilities even after he installed 2.0, not sure how he did that but would love to know.

It's a folder often excluded from pirated copies, but it contains no files used in the actual game. (It's just legal documents, the license and the game manual.)

Never made this mod for the Wii version, so no. (It could be made to work on Wii though, this mod just forces the game to load all of the already existing BlackoutTran data like any other level. That doesn't push the game since it's working within the games normal limits, unlike some of the more wild campaign Mods for the PC Version that edit models, cutscenes and dialogue, something that isn't possible on the Wii version yet.)

That means the default folder was given special protection by the installer. That happens sometimes and is normal. You can circumvent it by opening the Transformers: The Game folder, copying everything inside, creating a new folder on the desktop and then pasting all the files inside there. If done right, you should be able to proceed with modding without issue, as the new folder won't have the protection.

Well, it took a while to get the missions functioning properly so out of necessity I had gotten pretty used to using the Emulated Controls. Every time I tested these missions I played them without cheats to make sure everything was working properly, I don't remember how long that testing period lasted, but it was probably a couple months of just playing the same missions over and over again. (Roll for It in particular gave me a lot of trouble. Testing that mission was the worst, I think that first month was spent entirely on that one mission) For Showdown, I usually try to use melee to damage Megatron in robot form as quickly as possible so he turns into his jet Mode. (I don't bother trying to use Objects against Megatron. The game has dialogue that recommends it, but I do not find it helpful in practice) Once he's in Jet Mode it's a lot easier to safely damage him with guns, as most of his attacks can be safely dodged by strafing, strafe jumping (if timed right the rockets will fly right past you rather than hitting the dam or Optimus) or just blocking if you don't want to take any risks. As long as the bulk of the damage being dealt against Megatron is when he's flying around, the fight usually ends fairly quickly.

You're playing in Low Detail Mode. (Fun fact, those are actually the original models the game was developed around, since it was made for PS2 primarily.) To get the higher detail models, you need to go into the options menu, and turn on High Detail Mode. If the option is greyed out, you might be missing a file called Transformers_Hi.DAT. And you'll have to download it off the net. (I included links to commonly missing files on my old modding tutorial vid if I remember correctly. You should be able to get it from there)

Qatar has always been a very badly optimized and generally unstable level on the PC Version. On some computers it works without issue, but for others the level barely runs.... And that's just the vanilla game without any modification. Mods can sadly make it even worse, pushing things over the edge. Normally I'd recommend checking out the 2.0 Extras folders and installing the "Reduce chance of crashing in D1C2/D1C3" mod from the Crash Prevention folder, but if the level is crashing on Chapter 1 (or just crashing immediately after the loading screen, so you've never even had a chance to set foot in Qatar) then you may be experiencing far more severe instability. You can still try this to see if it helps though. The best thing I can recommend, is that you grab the original non-extracted Transformers_Lo.Dat file and place it back in your game folder temporarily. That will ensure the game loads the vanilla data without anything from 2.0 that might be pushing Qatar over the edge. Try to complete the Vanilla Qatar that way. If you still experience crashing even on the vanilla version, you may have to try playing in Low Detail Mode. You can switch to that from the games Video Options menu. Then when you finish Qatar, you can move Lo.Dat back out of the folder so the other levels use The 2.0 Mods data. Absolute worst case scenario if none of this helps you, install the Debug Menu Mod from the Extras folder, load your save data, then go into Options and load BarricadeTranquility/The Hunt for Sam Witwicky from the Debug Menu. You can play any level in the game that way. (There's also an "Unlock All" option that will let you play any Chapter in any order, if it were to come to that) (Edit: There is also a decent possibility this issue comes from not installing the mod properly, though you've gotten through the Autobot campaign without issue so I'm not sure about that. In the end the above recommendations are just the simplest way for you to move forward without having to worry too much about troubleshooting.)

He dies offscreen at the hands of Optimus Prime in the Autobot campaign, because despite the Hoover Dam levels being unused they're still oddly canon. (Because they were cut so close to release) His fate in the Decepticon campaign is unclear. He never appears again in the story after Airbase as far as we know. Since the Decepticon Hoover Dam cutscenes are lost media, we have no way of knowing if he appeared in that levels cutscenes or not. It's possible he did, and died there, but it's also possible he doesn't appear there at all.

A leftover from early development. Bumblebee was the first character created, and in the early stages of development they needed an enemy to test fighting mechanics against. Since they didn't have any drone designs finalized yet, they just did a quick repaint of Bumblebee and used the "evil" version as a test enemy. It's kinda shocking Evil Bumblebee stayed leftover in the files for so long, as there are plenty of other known prototype models that were purged from the files before release. Despite knowing the truth behind Evil Bumblebee now, I still like to include him in the mod as an unused character. Plus he's the perfect candidate to load all of the unused Bumblebee animations that I can't use for normal Bumblebee. (Due to Bumblebee being the first character made, he has way more animation files than anyone else, most of which are alternative versions of final animations hence why I used them for Evil Bee but couldn't for normal Bee) Despite however unintentional and coincidental it may have been, Evil Bumblebee is a lot like AoE's Stinger. I suppose Evil versions of Bumblebee with a red paint job are an oddly common but popular idea behind the scenes.

The mod only supports the languages included in the game by default, which unfortunately doesn't include any Russian options. There is a fanmade Russian Translation out there, but it's incompatible with 2.0.

Well, assuming all steps were followed correctly, early changes that show the mod is active include: The Autobot logo that appears for a split second on startup glowing. Level Load Screen changes. You'll either see a screen with a character bio or a picture of the environment you're about to play in. (The game normally loads random pictures from the CGI intro cinematic on PC) Character portraits will have glowing eyes. (The game normally uses early control art for the portraits, which didn't have lights on the eyes unlike the final designs)

The mod was made for the PC Version of the game on Windows. Generally if you have a computer that can run the game, it will run the mod without issue.

You must already have a copy of Transformers The Game downloaded and installed in order to install mods for it.

Those channels and videos did exist, as I've seen several over the years, but they usually get removed by RUclips sooner or later. Despite the game being abandonware that isn't sold legally anymore, RUclips still doesn't seem to allow people to link a copy of a full game that was once sold. More than that, I don't even know a place to download the game from, as I only ever got physical copies of these games way back in the day. I recommend that you try asking other people who make mod videos for the game, (since most people download the game these days) but I can't really help you here. As for the Mods, most mods are made for the PC Version, and only the PC version. The PC Version is the most moddable, so generally everything is done on there. (The only reason most modders even touch the console versions is to mod HooverExt on Wii/PS3. Likewise, the only mod on my channel that isn't on PC is Hoover Dam Edition because that's a HooverExt level mod.)

Thank you very much for that information I really appreciate that so I'm guessing my best course of action is to find a physical copy for the PC.

Yeah, the Mod requires the game. I can't link the game itself despite it being abandonware, so you'll have to find a copy of the game yourself through whatever means work for you.

Sounds like you either have a bad copy of the game, or it wasn't installed properly. Is it a digital or a physical copy?

I'm not sure I understand your question? The level was meant to be part of the main campaign, but was cut because the developers didn't have time to iron out the issues. As is, the level remains playable on the Wii and PS3 versions through modding, but are very incomplete and broken. (I made a video showcasing those too, but that's not this video. This video showcases a special modded build of the game that only has the fixed version of these levels, it's linked in the description and meant to be run on emulator. This video was uploaded before I originally released it.)

Strange. Maybe it doesn't have permission to run? It's supposed to open a file explorer window so you can select which script to load.

It's a false positive, it's especially common to get that with exes or scripts for programs to execute. Most anti virus safety measures will either warn you or simply deny anything not made by a verified company or publisher, regardless of the content within.
