Absolutely. I’ve considered that myself. Just haven’t found a good option for it. What size hook did you go with?

@fishkrazed it's the VMC 7237 inline, #4 size. On Amazon it's "Rapala VMC 7237". Using those hooks on the CDE55 Rapala. There really are not that many smaller trout where I go, maybe 8" being the smallest, so the #6 hook might be good for smaller trout? Or a #8. Unsure if replacing the hook affects the lure action but I think it does not? There's also the 7237 CB, coastal black, those can be bought in smaller quantities the "Rapala 7237" i could only find in 25 or 100 count packs. Kinda confusing. I'm still new to fishing on a regular basis have fished for years but this year being the most consistent, but yea these have worked really well. And for whatever reason the process of swapping hooks out is satisfying lol

@@PittPens6866 I’ll check them out man. The only thing I could think of that could affect the action is if they take into consideration the weight of the treble’s when looking at the sink rate. I’d say it’s minimal though.

I can’t remember honestly I’ll have to watch it back and see. If it was topwater it was either a whopper plopper 60 or 90, small swimbaits, and senko’s lol

The gilded brown trout color is without a doubt my favorite lol I try to keep the rainbow on me too, but it doesn’t get used near as much.

@@FlyFishingGavin I definitely think it’s worth it. And it depends, if they’re native brook trout I’d vote no just because the treble hooks could tear them up pretty good. If they are stocked brook trout, absolutely. They’ll hammer em!

I’m not sure what you mean there, all trout in this video were respectfully released. If you mean the first fish in this video, the first fish was a creek chub. Not a trout. They are not as delicate as trout, kind of a trash fish. I just shake them off the hook so I don’t have to touch them.

Yep! That’s the one. The sink rate works better for me on the cde55 in my waters.

@@rchrdlezama2 for sure. Just look up on rapalas site for clarification about sink rate, I think it’s 1 foot per second. If that’s correct just “countdown” to the depth you wanna fish. 💪🏼 it’s tough right now. I almost got skunked this morning pond fishing. Unsure about your neck of the woods but the weather and water temps have skyrocketed.
