Honestly the character comes off more goofy than problematic to me. My issue with the mod is that it feels so...forced, and it's boring. There's no stakes, no actual struggle because you'll still end up with him anyway. The way he is written feels like he doesn't have an actual interest, he doesn't have real hobbies and his opinions of the world feels out of place not to mention his own background, it just feels like 'what is the most popular opinion I give him that so he looks cooler' and eventually, you get this npc who is possessive and obsessed because he doesn't have an identity outside you

Nothing to do with the Skyrim romance mod - in the Sven and Faendal quest I'm pretty sure there's a way to make Camilla hate both of them but I could be wrong (but if I'm remembering correctly it's the best option because both of them suck)

This is a really good analysis. I'd personally change the approach through. You've stated that the world of TES has basically no gender roles, and therefore no misogyny, and when there is misogyny its due to write bias. I think that needs to be flipped around. The choice to write a pseudo-historical world with no gender roles IS the bias. An enormous bias that TES has leaned towards more and more overtime with the elimination of sex differences in stats. Including gender expectations (like Svens 'I want you to be a housewife' poem) is not bias - that's totally historically ordinary (an still ordinary in non-western societies). Also, acknowledging sex differences or having gender roles is not misogyny in and of itself. Mikael being annoying and pursuing a woman is not misogyny, its an irritating but typical sexual behavior of some males. It's not a societal construct that men pursue sex with women to a sometimes annoying extent.

I played this mod way back when it first came out and was the *only* really female-gaze-oriented mod that existed (the days when sexy mods were only REALLY made for the cis-het-male gaze) so *for it's time* it was revolutionary... but *only* in it was one of VERY few mods of its time that were made with a (probably cis-het) female audience in mind [Basically, I installed it because I was STARVED for mods for femme-presenting persons]. It still fucking sucked. I remember trying to enjoy the mod as much as I could, but the final straw that made me SO MAD I uninstalled it was Bishop throwing a tantrum at the Dragonborn for doing their *one job* in the main quest. It was written because Bishop can't come with the DB to Skuldafen★★ so the creator had to write him out of that part SOMEHOW but it was executed so poorly in favor of Bishop "being worried" about the DB that he screams at them for "doing something so stupid". I actually did this AFTER marrying him and having the kid so I was blindsided by him because I feel like the "marriage" part of the mod changes his personality WILDLY. He's not a good guy after, but he becomes less... blatantly misogynistic? Like it's still there, but much more subtle in favor of Bishop/Child interactions. But it felt like his character reverts to the per-marraige Bishop where he thinks you weak and unable to do things. At least when he talks to your son about you he actually talks about you being strong. (The bar is on the floor with Bishop). ★★Note that there was a "teleport Bishop" spell added at some point "in case he gets stuck," but it was poorly written so instead of teleporting Bishop to the DB, it actually duplicated an instance of him that would leave the DB or disappear at random, and could be found eventually back at Riverwood. If you "summoned" him too many times there would just be a myriad of Bishops waiting for the DB at Riverwood crowding up the place, and making the game load so slow because back in OG skyrim the actor limit was like 20 characters. No clue if they ever patched the teleport spell to work properly, since for my followers I now use a Mark and Summon Friends mod that actually teleports the characters instead of duplicating them. Sometimes I put this in my load order just to fuck with Bishop because it's fun, and since Nethers Followers Framework automatically puts him in that framework (bad for custom NPCS usually) You can actually turn off his commentary if you have both installed. I had him in my last run though my patience with him wore thin really quickly so even though I've barely started, I've already uninstalled and am restarting my game because I just don't have time for his BS anymore. Also want to mention back when I had this installed back in the day Solitude almost ALWAYS crashed because of all of the junk put in for the ball. If I was traveling from the entrance to The Blue Palace I'd have to throw down a save in case of crashing if I'd been to ANY other city because the memory just couldn't handle the amount of NPCS and flowers added by the mod. I remember eventually using the console to disable every extra flower and NPC entity when I'd finished Casavir's quest because I got so sick of it when I was trying to do other things in Solitude. Even then, the food was set to respawn every in-game week so even though I'd disabled the first instance of food as well as the tables, there would just be random food on the ground every week because the flag for it was to respawn so often.

Did this person make A Dance with Rogues for Neverwinter? You know the mod where one of the main romanceable companions, and said to be the most attractive one, RAPED THE PRINCESS at the start of the mod?

I know it's been years, but Casavir in Neverwinter Nights 2 does indeed spend the night with you and you don't have to convince him to do it, when you romance him. I mean it's a very tasteful fade to black and when you wake up he is in his full suit of armor again, but it's not at all that he has some vows to consider. He is in his 30s, has a life and ambitions of his own, his entire life is not turned on it's head because your character shows up. The romance isn't super passionate, but he is not a creeper at all.

It’s funny, several years ago, before I had therapy and faced some of my demons, I was one of those people who found this mod intriguing. Now that I’ve grown and learned my own worth, I see the character for what he is and while the outside is pretty, the inside is just pretty sad. If I ever run this mod again, it will purely be for Karnwyr who has better manners than his fellow

A) some people are into having a possessive lover and B) theres 2 kinds of possessive. theres the good kind which is when somone is protective and really just wants to keep a person they love safe. and than theres bishop. a total dickbag whos creator has the strangest taste in men. bet if she got into a relationship like that irl she would immediately change the mod. cause no woman wants a man whos an honest to god dick to her. women who are genuinely good i mean.

I watched a full playthrough of this mod (if I had to suffer through it i was not downloading it) and I made notes about how the story could be less... terrible. By my calculations, the mod would need almost an entire rewrite. Stuff like this makes me glad I'm a lesbian lmao

i do not play a db female chracter, but does this happen if your db is a guy or somethin or it wont work
