The Ugly TRUTH About Being An Influencer in 2024
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.Месяц назад
A year ago, I went mega-viral on Instagram. Today, it's just not the same. For some, going viral is a sought-after thing - it means money, fame, and a life of frivolous attention to the online world. For others, it's a rude wakeup call to the reality of how we communicate, and more importantly, why going viral on short-form platforms simply isn't worth it. #instagram #selfimprovement #advice Br...

I remember getting into cardistry and magic cause of your instagram videos especially that catalyst flourish you usually do. Time flies!! Never got a chance to learn that since your website idlehands is down. Would appreciate if you can guide me to the tutorial cause what cardist would I be if I fail to learn the move that inspired me to do cardistry in the first place! Love from Africa.

I liked this video. It's interesting to see what each person takes everywhere. For me, it's always my phone, wallet, keys, headphones, glasses (if driving). That's really everything I need on a daily basis. Maybe my power bank if I know I'm gonna be out all day, but that's really it.

Point A: You're funny, charismatic, and well-spoken. This gave me a couple of chuckles; I enjoyed it. Point B: As a woman, lemme say that dudes have it so goddamn easy when it comes to actually setting up and keeping a minimalist wardrobe. Not just the societal pressure on women to Wear All The Things, but also the fact that sizing for women is bananas. B. AN. AN. AS. [thanks, Gwen] Seriously - if you don't fall within a 3-size range, a) minimalist clothing is SUPER expensive, b) minimalist clothing that fits well is HARD. TO. FIND. and c) SUSTAINABLE options are nigh on impossible. I just want to acknowledge other women who want to try reducing their footprint in general - on the planet, in their wardrdobe and in their lives - I know it's hard, I see you, and I agree with you. Let's get a glass of single malt together.

This was lovely. I say that in the true sense of the word "lovely". It was informative, visually engaging, useful, and absolutely adorably well-shot. Just...nicely done, my guy. Nicely done. On the content side - I appreciate that your stuff looks used. Like, ACTUALLY used, not "omg the aesthetic" used. Also, stuff looks like you're not going to replace it the second a new "season" starts. I want to give you an Internet High-Five for that. I'm a woman who stopped Carrying All The Things when I was a teenager in some aggressive fit of "screwn The Man, I know they won't give us pockets so we buy handbags but I AIN'T FALLIN' FOR IT" angst, and honestly, it frustrates me that people don't do it more. Why do you need All The Things? Why do you need two notebooks? Why two notebooks and a laptop? Why are you carrying your birth certificate everywhere? What's with the can of tuna? Who needs wet protein THAT urgently? Why is there a framed autographed photo of your preschool teacher in there? Was your preschool teacher actually John Cena? ...I'm getting off track. Anyway. I carry lip balm, a slim card wallet [which also fits said lip balm under the zip, conveniently], my phone, my housekeys, my NCH and my sunglasses. That's it. I'm a fully-functional Adult Person with a neurospicy brain and I survive with these things, so I don't get people who think they need an IKEA bag to catch a train to work. I am not dismissing people who have need to carry things for their wellbeing, but YOU DO NOT NEED A SEWING KIT AND A PARACHUTE. ...Though if your life and style of living means that you DO need to have ready access to a parachute, I want to meet you. You sound interesting.

Loved the video! I realized I work best when I know every single bag of.mine has the essentials! I'm pretty sicklish myself, so I have a small container with emergency meds, a chapstick, a cream in sample bags so it's easy to put everywhere and I have them in every daily bag I can take. And then I carry my phone, earphones, sometimes my tiny wallet (in my country our ID and driving license are on an app and they're perfectly okay to show as a proof) and if it's not a pouch, then a a notebook with a pen and water bottle! But last two item are my calm mind mostly Oh! Also I carry dogw poo bags in every single bag I own, so I don't have to worry too much when some unexpected literal shit pops out hahha

I absolutely have a very bitter hatred for Grammerly. With that (*(*&^( when I write technical medical and scientific words, this &**&*^* changes the words so that an expertly crafted sentence is transformed into an unintelligent garble-fest. PS Yes, garble-fest IS actually a word because I wrote it - Take THAT Grammerly!

a minimal closet only works if you have 1 job and 1 hobby. and also easier if you live in an area that only has one season (california) for example i have clothes for working on my car, riding my motorcycle, working another job, freelance labor work, etc. it also only works if you dont view fashion as form of self expression. my closet is huge because i find customizing my look a way to express myself. and i love collecting interesting things from thrift shops. i love the idea of this and admire people who can subscribe to this type of philosophy though

It’s clear from your recommendations that you’re a new Mac user who thinks they know the best software. I'm pretty sure you've never used a PowerPC Mac and don't understand how the software interacts with the operating system or what the default applications are for the Mac community. For example recommending Todoist instead of Things 3 is absurd, and that goes for half of the video as well. Don't embarras yourself. You are rookie.

Love your content, Sean. It inspired me to take a more mindful approach into how I use my phone - using it as a tool rather than a way to avoid eye contact and wiping 😅 This video especially highlights some of the things that I absolutely hate about influencer culture - e.g. the people who use these platforms to try and claim their 15 seconds of fame; causing disruptions to the public and pulling dangerous pranks. This might be the most boomer thing I'll ever say, but it's true. And this isn't to disregard creators who have a passion for creating content that informs and helps others - or even to entertain. Keep doing you, Sean.

First. I appreciate what you bring to the table. I am a small channel. Simply an older human learning to skateboard and sharing it. I get just as many videos now at 3500 subs than I did at 500 subs. View time has died with the rise of tictoc. But I will not change or stop what I am doing. I think long content is needed because of the connection with those that chose to have it. Plus I will not monetize my skateboard channel, so I can do it more freely. I stopped making YT Shorts because I refuse to feed the goldfish.
