My bank account and my sanity are thanking you for this video! Seriously though, this is such a practical and fun way to approach fashion. I can't believe I used to think I needed a different outfit for every day of the week. Time to say goodbye to those impulse purchases and hello to a more intentional wardrobe! ️
I started doing this last year and can confirm it is a game changer. Also, when you stop caring about wearing the flashiest, coolest clothes you realize that no one else ever cared about what you looked like either🤷🏼♂
I am a maximalistic minimalist, I have 2 wardrobes. 1 minimalist one which I use during the week as a developer/programmer. And the other for getting out in the weekend or when playing shows with bands.
I like this idea. I also have 1) work minimalist wardrobe: easy very casual work. Another for labor type work, and a weekend or going out wardrobe all 3 include 10 items or less.
Great video, Sean! I’ve been minimalizing my wardrobe for a few years now. The pandemic certainly accelerated that. Now I wear a few comfortable things over and over again and honestly life is simpler. It was a nice reminder that this probably frees up some of my decision making bank too! You could almost say that you are “dressing mindfully” 😂😉
Dude, you are gonna blow tf up. I’ve never seen someone with such low publicity and professional, well developed videos at the same time. Can’t wait to see you with millions of subs one day, keep it up!
This is for sure my favorite wardrobe vid because it’s simple and that’s where I’m starting to go without watching this. For me lately its been what can I throw on that makes me comfortable. Appreciate the extra tips also.
I personally love block pastel colour long sleeves, they pretty much work with everything and add a splash of colour. Choose one colour palette and stick with it and you can just grab stuff out of your wardrobe and it'll work. Nothing wrong with grey scale but if that's not your bag you can still be minimal.
I'd love to hear a female minimalist wardrobe perspective! This is fabulous to put into practice and get going. I've already started, but I'd love to hear from the female -identifying side of the clothing world, what are some staples to have with versatility? I have a business casual office job, so I have a couple of slacks, a gray skirt, a couple button ups, a blazer (that matches a pair of slacks), two sweaters, and a couple nice blouses. This is separate from my non-work clothes, but they are mixed sometimes.
Hey im leaving a comment. I like seeing your content and i have the same philosophy about clothes. 🎉 thanks for being here and taking the time to make this video
I totally agree! Your take on fashion really resonates with me-it's all about expressing ourselves authentically. If you're into this vibe, you might enjoy some of the content I create around style and self-expression. Keep up the great work!
Hey thanks! Lost 100 lbs and had to donate all my fat clothes was freaking out on what to do for a new wardrobe this video helped a lot. 25 more pounds to go then I’ll figure out my sizes and order your recommendations and try them out!
a minimal closet only works if you have 1 job and 1 hobby. and also easier if you live in an area that only has one season (california) for example i have clothes for working on my car, riding my motorcycle, working another job, freelance labor work, etc. it also only works if you dont view fashion as form of self expression. my closet is huge because i find customizing my look a way to express myself. and i love collecting interesting things from thrift shops. i love the idea of this and admire people who can subscribe to this type of philosophy though
Loved the video! Great explanations and nice outfits. One of the first videos of this kind that I watch without using baggy pants or super wide ones, which in my opinion look awfully in men.
Point A: You're funny, charismatic, and well-spoken. This gave me a couple of chuckles; I enjoyed it. Point B: As a woman, lemme say that dudes have it so goddamn easy when it comes to actually setting up and keeping a minimalist wardrobe. Not just the societal pressure on women to Wear All The Things, but also the fact that sizing for women is bananas. B. AN. AN. AS. [thanks, Gwen] Seriously - if you don't fall within a 3-size range, a) minimalist clothing is SUPER expensive, b) minimalist clothing that fits well is HARD. TO. FIND. and c) SUSTAINABLE options are nigh on impossible. I just want to acknowledge other women who want to try reducing their footprint in general - on the planet, in their wardrdobe and in their lives - I know it's hard, I see you, and I agree with you. Let's get a glass of single malt together.
Sorry if this is off topic, but I came across this video while I was looking for minimalist clothing ideas and your face looked very familiar lol. I think I was subscribed to one of your old youtube channels when you were younger where you used to make beats or talk about random stories in your bedroom from an front facing or high up angle. I'm like 90% certain their name was Sean too; was wondering if that was you haha.
These seem great for outside clothes but what do you wear at home? I often wear the same clothes indoors and outdoors since I wear "athletic" materials, but the list you gave seem to be a bit more premium materials that I wouldn't be comfortable wearing down by sleeping in for example
Hey that's really cool, but it wouldn't work for me I am a maximalist (on style) I love picking out outfits in the morning (or the evening before). It did inspire me to look in my closet and get rid of things I don't wear :)
It has been really difficult for me to lose the clothes which are not comfortable enough or which I don't like anymore because a lot of them are still new and my mother would kill me for wasting.
this definitely would not work for me - I adore dressing for specific holidays, seasons, bright colors, and new fits! it’s one of the things I actually enjoy picking out. On the other hand, I can use the same idea to streamline other areas - it doesn’t bother me to eat the same meals just about every day, so if I know I have the exact same thing on my shopping list every single week - well that certainly makes deciding what’s for dinner incredibly easy. good video. Thanks for giving me something to think about!
Still these brands like H&m, uniqlo r too costly...if anyone can suggest me a site where i can find cheaper minimalist outfits, I'll be grateful...thank you❤
when I got the tees, they were $14 per tee. The hoodies are around $50 on sale, and the pants can be between $60-$100! It is worth noting that I've had most of these for multiple years, so investing in quality is key!
the moisture-wicking properties of the tees definitely help with that. That being said, I probably won't wear a shirt more than twice if I'm working out in it!
You aren't a true minimalist unless you live in the park with just a backpack lol. No shoes or underwear allowed either. But seriously I'm done wearing light colored clothing. I'm clumsy and always spilling stuff and staining. I also have 400 unwanted clothes on sale on Poshmark ugh. WTF

love to hear that! you'd be amazed at how much mental clarity it frees up

Love your channel man
Grateful I’m not crazy for wanting to consciously narrow everything in my life down to be as simple as possible
great video. “Simplicity is the highest form of sophistication.”
you talk about that it just has to be simple, but your outfits look great! :)
Thank you for the great inspiration
This video really clarifies everything I wanted to know, so thanks for that and keep up the good work !

Great video bro, I’m also looking forward to sort out some clothes of my wardrobe and donating them 🙌
donating is a great thing to do!

Fantastic video. Thank you so so much!
This wardrobe is also called a “capsule wardrobe”. I suggest you add that word to the description and hashtag ❤
Love this one Sean!
Thank ya! glad you like

I have 21 orange shirts, 4 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of 501 Levis, and 2 pairs of running shoes. That’s it.
You don't ware pants and shorts😂😂
What about that suit jacket your wearing in your picture?
@@jamiewin5214old and gone.
Overall, it's good, but it may not be the best choice for one-bag travel. I would consider this factor when setting up my wardrobe as well.
Game changer! Thanks for sharing 👍
The tech overlords and lizards of silicon valley 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I need this exact guide but for someone who works out twice a day.
Just what I need🔥
amazing, I'm glad to hear you liked it!

Glad you like it!

not necessarily wasting if you donate them :) totally get that though
@@SeanOulashin yes you are actually right, it's time for me to get new clothes and get rid of the old ones.
What about washing them to keep it nice for long? Frequency and detergent?
this definitely would not work for me - I adore dressing for specific holidays, seasons, bright colors, and new fits! it’s one of the things I actually enjoy picking out. good video. Thanks for giving me something to think about!
totally get that! great job on applying these concepts to different parts of your life.
Why does your video look so sharp even though I just watched it in 1080p
shot in 4k, exported in 1080! 🧠
Awesome video
Really good
Thanks!
you don't need any kind of clothes for work or anywhere that requires a bit more formality?
Are your abc pants the slim or skinny version? Love the video dude!!
My best descision today was watching this video 🙃
I'm so glad you made that decision!
I’m gonna have to get the ABC pants just for the acronym
seriously!
I've been looking everywhere online for the Abercrombie black flannel shirt but I can't find it, are you sure it's definitely Abercrombie?
I hope this video helps in fixing my wardrobe.
small steps!
Great video 🕺🏽🕺🏽
Thanks 💯
Still these brands like H&m, uniqlo r too costly...if anyone can suggest me a site where i can find cheaper minimalist outfits, I'll be grateful...thank you❤
I start trying to do this and then buy pieces I don’t need lol
gotta be disciplined! haha
We make 35,000 decisions a day. Reducing your wardrobe removes 5 of these. Congrats
Nice video
i like your humor tho, nice video
haha thank you :)
How much was the budget would you say for the things mentioned in the video? Thank you!!

It is worth noting that I've had most of these for multiple years, so investing in quality is key!
This year 2025, i want minimalist style 😊
where can i find the flannel ? i don’t see it on the website
Hey Cole! That flannel was from a few seasons ago. They've got some great options up now!
niceeeee and cleaann
You the best
no YOU the best!
What if you sweat or get dirty?
the moisture-wicking properties of the tees definitely help with that. That being said, I probably won't wear a shirt more than twice if I'm working out in it!
