Great video, Sean! I’ve been minimalizing my wardrobe for a few years now. The pandemic certainly accelerated that. Now I wear a few comfortable things over and over again and honestly life is simpler. It was a nice reminder that this probably frees up some of my decision making bank too! You could almost say that you are “dressing mindfully” 😂😉

Point B: As a woman, lemme say that dudes have it so goddamn easy when it comes to actually setting up and keeping a minimalist wardrobe. Not just the societal pressure on women to Wear All The Things, but also the fact that sizing for women is bananas. B. AN. AN. AS. [thanks, Gwen] Seriously - if you don't fall within a 3-size range, a) minimalist clothing is SUPER expensive, b) minimalist clothing that fits well is HARD. TO. FIND. and c) SUSTAINABLE options are nigh on impossible.
I just want to acknowledge other women who want to try reducing their footprint in general - on the planet, in their wardrdobe and in their lives - I know it's hard, I see you, and I agree with you. Let's get a glass of single malt together.
I personally love block pastel colour long sleeves, they pretty much work with everything and add a splash of colour. Choose one colour palette and stick with it and you can just grab stuff out of your wardrobe and it'll work. Nothing wrong with grey scale but if that's not your bag you can still be minimal.

a minimal closet only works if you have 1 job and 1 hobby. and also easier if you live in an area that only has one season (california)
for example i have clothes for working on my car, riding my motorcycle, working another job, freelance labor work, etc.
it also only works if you dont view fashion as form of self expression. my closet is huge because i find customizing my look a way to express myself. and i love collecting interesting things from thrift shops.
i love the idea of this and admire people who can subscribe to this type of philosophy though
I am a maximalistic minimalist, I have 2 wardrobes.
1 minimalist one which I use during the week as a developer/programmer.
And the other for getting out in the weekend or when playing shows with bands.
Sorry if this is off topic, but I came across this video while I was looking for minimalist clothing ideas and your face looked very familiar lol. I think I was subscribed to one of your old youtube channels when you were younger where you used to make beats or talk about random stories in your bedroom from an front facing or high up angle. I'd love to hear a female minimalist wardrobe perspective! This is fabulous to put into practice and get going. I've already started, but I'd love to hear from the female -identifying side of the clothing world, what are some staples to have with versatility? I have a business casual office job, so I have a couple of slacks, a gray skirt, a couple button ups, a blazer (that matches a pair of slacks), two sweaters, and a couple nice blouses. This is separate from my non-work clothes, but they are mixed sometimes.

Hey that's really cool, but it wouldn't work for me I am a maximalist (on style) I love picking out outfits in the morning (or the evening before). It did inspire me to look in my closet and get rid of things I don't wear :)

this definitely would not work for me - I adore dressing for specific holidays, seasons, bright colors, and new fits! it’s one of the things I actually enjoy picking out. On the other hand, I can use the same idea to streamline other areas - it doesn’t bother me to eat the same meals just about every day, so if I know I have the exact same thing on my shopping list every single week - well that certainly makes deciding what’s for dinner incredibly easy.

It has been really difficult for me to lose the clothes which are not comfortable enough or which I don't like anymore because a lot of them are still new and my mother would kill me for wasting.

when I got the tees, they were $14 per tee. The hoodies are around $50 on sale, and the pants can be between $60-$100!
It is worth noting that I've had most of these for multiple years, so investing in quality is key!

What if you sweat or get dirty?
the moisture-wicking properties of the tees definitely help with that. That being said, I probably won't wear a shirt more than twice if I'm working out in it!
