@@adventureandrepeat OK thanks for confirming. I was pulling my boat for the first time. Everything was going well and I was like let me get out and just check everything. I saw a bunch of water leaking down and a chicken noise on the pipe. I thought my transmission line or transmission itself had busted. seems to be a odd place for a drain, especially with on top of the hot exhaust.

@@Intwodeep902 I'm assuming they built the t1 chassis around the Duramax. And there is no exhaust there to drop on. I had concerns at first too then I dug into it. I guess it's one way to keep EGTs down haha

Very cool! Thanks for sharing! That's very interesting that it would only burn during that event. Is there something that made you want to check afterwards like low oil pressure? Or just general preventative maintenance?

@@adventureandrepeat I'm guessing it might have been due to the cold or the higher average RPM? Oil pressure has always been steady after warm up. I take it from MN to WY every winter. Always just check the oil before heading back because it's 1,000 miles in 1 day. I have the older 6 speed transmission. Wind was strong enough when you turned into it the truck would shift gears pulling only 6k lbs. The oil burning was this most recent winter which was the 4th trip like that it did. I will be checking it more frequently to see if it was a 1 off or not.

@@thatsmynatty I can see high rpms causing some windage and burning up some oil thru the pcv system. It's a big crank flying around so that makes sense

It's an 89 sundowner. Very similar to a liberator though

This truck does not have blind spot monitoring. Our 2015 Tahoe does have it and it was active even when towing. I doubt GM would have changed how it functioned since then

Yea it seems to be across the board with these trucks. No idea why other than hubs were installed dry and it lost a quart backfilling the hubs

@@sjupicudacuda898 I have not heard anything about the half tons having the problem. But it may not be a bad idea just to check it anyway. You made an investment in the truck, 5 minutes just to check and verify it will help keep your investment in good condition.
