Fake Point Light Material in Unreal Engine
I’ve found what might be one of the best methods for creating fake dynamic lighting in Unreal Engine… with a few small caveats. In this video I will show you how you can create this material for yourself and create you own dynamically lit materials.

FABRIK flickers when you move using World Space. I can't find a way to fix this.
Hello, When I connect Meta Quest 3 to PC, Hands tracking not working at all and only works with Controllers, So I cannot do any interaction via hands in PCVR in desktop, Unreal Engine, etc, all settings I read across internet are active and configured but immediately when I do Meta Link only works with Controllers, What should I do? I use Windows 11, Meta Quest 3
For anyone using this now, Setting the Interp Speed to 10.0 made it much better for me, So give that a shot if your not getting good results. Also if you can't grab the cubes refer to @sabertoothpaste9183 's comment: "all you have to do is add the "get player controller" node and connect the return value to "enhanced input local player subsystem" and lastly connect that as the target to the "add mapping context" node and set the mapping context in the dropdown to "IMC_Default", and then connect the execution of that node to happen after "set current location" that happens after Event BeginPlay. This setup of nodes can also be found on the VRPawn BP that comes with the built in VR Template."

Hello and thank you. We are Using UE 5.4.2 and Meta Quest 3. I need to user able interact with bare hands not Controllers, how we could do that? for example with point finger click on some elements to user pawn jump there? Thank you.
After creating the gesture how do I create an event for the gesture, like trigger an event like moving forward when I do that gesture? How do I assign actions?
I followed your tutorial and managed to make the lever. However is there any way that i can rotate the lever in 2 axis (x and y). I intend to make a joystick.
Does this plugin raise the elbows when looking at the wrists. Like a watch or pip-boy?
A little late to the party, but happy to see you back!
My issue is I have a full body "pawn" collision capsule around the player. The grabbable cube has "physics actor" collision. If they just barely touch the movement freaks out or the cube randomly shoots off somewhere.
Can mocopi be used?
The KatVR Loco S is a 3 sensor setup. I use it for locomotion in Fallout 4 VR. It allows you to walk in place. It works well once you find the settings sweet spot.
For those of you who are here 2 years later in Unreal Engine 5.1, after playing the sequence, you need to set the playback position to 0; otherwise, you will be stuck with a black screen.

For anyone running Unreal Engine 5.4, Axis and Action mappings are now deprecated. That means you just have to manually map in all the controllers instead of them being there yourself.

What technique would you used to do gliding without a button, but with arm formation? So player makes t pose to glide and can pilot themselves around?
So what would be the best practice for actually implementing this in a larger game, to turn the character BP into a Cpp class and use the same logic with event tick there? To put checks in front of the time dilation so its not running constantly? Wondering how to optimize this further.
When I pick up the bow I start flying around in what ever direction I have the top of the bow pointed to. Also cant drop the bow once I pick it up, can only switch hands.
Running 5.3.2 here. I got everything set up fine but when I run it in VR preview the Mannequin body doesn't show up. Just the normal VRPawn hands. Not getting any errors. Anyone got any ideas as to what's going on?
I do not know what what I am doing wrong, but as Action Mappings are depreciated I also create two new inputs for triggers and after added to the MCI Default Mappings list. Can you give us a file whit it? Thanks!

Maybe a dumb question but will this put fake lighting on objects that are default lit or only to other unlit materials
Actually I think I see how it works probably won't work then. I wonder how this could be used to make a fake flashlight. Could be super helpful
Im personally think what clamping at the end are not the best idea. Better to add a constant value to the shader which will represent an "ambient light", the same way it was maded in old games. Alternatively, since we by ourselves calculate dot(N, L), we can use an old trick - "Half Lambert" (sometimes its called "Wrap Diffuse"), which is basically = dot(N, L)*0,5+0,5. Results will be an light "wrapped" around object. Such trick was used in INSIDE game to add a feel of something similar to global illumination. And originally (probably) came from HalfLife2 where they use it to more evenly lit a character models.
That's a very interesting method! how about baked lighting? I think it's another way to add perfect lighting with no cost since the light will be baked into the texture it self.
Baked lighting is way better however baking is inherently static. That example scene he used was an awful scene to showcase the method since both lights were not moving and would have looked a million times better as just static baked lights. The advantage of this is that it's dynamic so they can move around and are not limited by the 4 dynamic light maximum that you could hit when targeting a mobile platform. A WAY better showcase would have been space guns shooting hundreds of glowing colored lasers around a scene so that we could see the lights illuminating the things they pass in real time. Honestly I think that's the best possible use for this method. Fast moving lights that affect a small area. Larger lights like headlights or static lights which he used in the example scene would be way better off just using the built in static light baking system.
