It seems a lot in the comments are confused. I'd suggest reading the description and paying attention during the first few minutes of the movie where it describes what the situation is. The first few minutes of dialog (around where a press unit is talking to the Finnish troops) should also clear up some of the things people seem to be confused about as they mention the use of the swastika and how the Stug is different to a tank etc. They went out of their way to include these are plot points to help us understand what is going on. A minute or two glacing at wiki for the Winter War and Continuation War would probably clear up most questions. It's nearly two hours long so I think it's worth spending two minutes finding out what it's about.

Things that went on in Sobibor and other camps were much more grusome and demonic than the movie shows. This movie is too soft (no hate on the movie, just reality was a million times worse, like babies and children being thrown in the ovens to burn alive kinda things)

Great film. I saw this movie back in my ninth grade year in the fall 1999.

The hatred is a demonic force that resides within man. It incites man to inflict great cruelty on human beings, even having pleasure in it. The Germans had demons in them.

Very good movie! In 2020 someone in germany found rare photographies showing life of the nazi guards and the sobibor camp. In a german documentary from "arte" , experts describe it just like it's presented in the movie. Very recommended to watch!
