Make sure u monitor render latency in nvidia alt z menu it really shows how resolution and game settings makes games feel increadibly slow
Great video. Im happy w/ my 13600k for 2 years and I will keep using it for a long time (together with the 4070ti)
I have an asus prime b350-plus. I plugged it in. I turned on my computer and there’s no sign of the device. I do not have a cd player in my pc. I don’t know what to do.
why’d you cover the fivr under volt ? was curious about that. anyways i just raised my all core on my 13600k to 5500mhz and its running pretty cool after an undervolt ! thanks for the guide !! on a nzxt n7 z790 (asrock board)
With newer ASRock BIOSes the voltage/frequency curve changed, throwing the values of this video way off, that is why that part was blurred out.
@ oh i see thanks for the response ! cheers from los angeles
1:33 frequency ~ 2800MHz 6:47 920mV lowest recommended value for UV curve
2024 and still this guide just hits the spot. My gpu is now 8-10degC lower in full load 🤯
i do not understand why you stopped at -40 did it became unstable or you started to drop performance because of CEP ? I have asrock b760m with 12700kf and undervolt gets me half performance after a certain threshold, depending on the benchmark, Geekbench 6 even at -30
I stopped at -40mv because it becomes unstable if I drop the voltage too low.
@@Superior85 thanks for the info!
Thanks I tried the -40 mv on my gigabyte z790 mobo and it appears stable.
is it stable ?
yes
do u recommend to update the asrock bios to the latest update ?
depends on your sitaution, which bios version do you currently have? which cpu? are you also overclocking?
@@Superior85 Hello, thanks for the video. I ask you the same question, I have asrock with a 13600kf and I want to undervolt + overclock, the board is new so it has the latest microcode 0x12b Bios update. Is it a serious problem?
Awesome video, I’m running mine at 5.3p 4.2e 4.7r with 4000 full tunned b die Great cpu
Nice👍I was running that exact overclock previously, but since I downgraded to an air cooler, I ended up turning each of the clocks down 100MHz, and lowering the voltage.
@ there a great cpu for sure, my 240aio still runs hot tho voucher hitting 85 still in r23
Good
Thank you! ❤
Thank you very much. Can you please tell me if is possible to choose the maximum GHZ i want to the CPU?
A new BIOS update is available; could you please examine it? In my case, if I use the performance profile, it consumes more wattage. From my experience, this BIOS update uses more power than before.
i just tried the new bios (20.01) and for me it uses the same power as 19.02 in both default and performance profiles on my 13600K, when testing multi-core in cinebench 2024.
@@Superior85 Thank for making new video
Can i try this with 4070 ti?
yes
Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I have the Starfield Edition X/S controller and it paired great for awhile (played through all of Hollow Knight with it) but now it won't stay connected for more than 10 seconds at a time. Even after updating my bluetooth drivers and updating the controller firmware with the USB-C cable, it constantly disconnects. I'll keep looking for a solution and I'll reply here if I figure out a different fix.
why when I tried it gpu started blowing so hard it nearly exploded I had to shut down pc so fast
i have rtx 3060ti asus dual mini but my power limit 107 only
Just to you know/compare Im runing an msi Z690-P whit an 14600kf ,this combo can do dynamic overclock , 5.5ghz all core 5.8ghz 2 core , 1.143v when 5.5 all core in , e-cores 4.4ghz , Cinebench r23 26800 175w . Using an Thermalright PS120 air cooler. Still can tune this a lot better ,but its go to 194w and is a lot hotter and only 27150 on cinebench23 . Im still not even at 0123 microcode bios. Planing in upgrade bios because tuning Samsung ddr4 4000 is a memory training HELL! Need almost one setting at time waiting bios training reboot ....
995mV at 2.8GHz on my Asus Dual 4070 - Played Forza Horizon 5 at 1440p max settings and had no crashes. Temp never exceeded 52C and power consumption was around 150-160W down from about 185-200.
I don't get it how does that improve performance? If I just increase core clock from stock my GPU can reach 2050 Mhz and that yields better performance. Sure power consumptions is more but does it even matter?
My GPU also boosts to 2100mhz however it soon heats up and begins to throttle. The undervolt improves performance as less power = less heat, so ultimately the GPU will sustain a higher clock speed overall. for instance stock may boost higher but will start dropping and may drop to say 1800mhz continuous. The undervolt will not thermal throttle, use less power/heat and maintain an overall higher clock such as 1900mhz continuous, along with the slight bump in memory speed this is better FPS overall as the cards ultimately running faster overall
Just installed this today on my i5 13600k with asus rog z690e. Sadly it only improve by 2-3℃ and not 10℃. Idle is around 38℃ and gaming 68℃
My Xbox controller can't reconnect to my Windows 11 PC via bluetooth, once the controller is turned off. I'd have to re-pair the device and restart the bluetooth. For now, I think updating the firmware fixes this issue, and I can seamlessly reconnect my Xbox controller. Life saver!
does it have max brightness mode? is brightness too low in sdr? (200 nits)
Are you still using it? How did it run so far? It still keeps PC cool? What are your temps like?
I'm using an updated version of the cooler since I upgraded to 13600K a few years ago. Works great still. Temps are good enough for me. Mid-30s in idle but it can get up to 70 in some CPU demanding games, on an overclocked 13600K.
@@Superior85 that's really cool
@@Superior85 what's your average room temperature
How's the updated version of the cooler look like? Have you made any video on it or link to it?
@@Superior85 but how was the performance of the hyper 212 black. Are you talking about water cooler that you upgraded to or 212? What were the temps with the 212 and what was the CPU you were using with it and how many years that lasted you?
RTX 4070 is efficient GPU. Why would you ever want to undervolt it? Just enjoy your graphic card, losing -5° of the temperature at the cost of the performance is merely not worth of it.
It's efficient when you undervolt it. It has pretty bad diminishing returns on the high end. But more importantly it runs quiet after undervolt.
@@iyaramonk something what is efficient from the beginning, can't become more efficient. Once again, RTX 4070 is not something you should bother undervolting.
Is it possible to set below 80W for RTX 3060 Desktop GPU?
What would be the power consumption if the clock speed was set to 1320MHz or below the Base Clock?
How do you find out a certain voltage number and how do you know the max mhz value aswell?? its kinda random
Would have been an amazing video if you hadn’t mounted the cooler wrong, you’re NEVER spouse to put the tubes intake/outtake to the radiator on the bottom ALWAYS on top please no one follow this steps he did it’s a big rookie mistake but mistakes happen
i've got this comment a few times on this video but it is incorrect. the way i mounted it in the video is one of the correct ways to mount an AIO. Gamers Nexus shows this as one of the correct ways to mount a radiator in their "Stop Doing It Wrong: How to Kill Your CPU Cooler video from a while ago...
Can you guide me to optimize on CPU i5 -13600k on my asrock b660rs pro motherboard ?
I have an Intel Core i5 14600K. I made some changes in my motherboard settings. I've changed the CPU Lite Load setting and i adjusted the power limits (PL1 and PL2) to a Intel recommended values at PL1=PL2=181W and 200A. I also was able to under-volt my CPU at around -0.130 V resulting in my voltage staying at around 1.12 V. At best I have a mid-tier MSI 360 aio cpu cooler and with all those tweaks my temperatures stay at around 70 degrees celsius while doing cpu stress testing during a hot day. All this without a contact frame, which i plan to buy anyway except the temperatures are fine, but there are some occasional temperature spikes to around 55 degrees celsius while doing some desktop related stuff like browsing the internet, especially RUclips. That's why i want to try a contact frame to see if it will eliminate those spikes at desktop. Also i have to replace my thermal paste because i used some cheap solution like Arctix-MX2 which is not good enough in my opinion.
I was just looking for some mayby more better improvments ... All i find its exacly the same setup that i have alredy done by my self :D ! hahah Thanks still for video for letting me know its maximum what i can get ^^
Could not update using the Xbox accesories app on win 10. But was able to update the firmware connecting the controller to an xbox with a usb cable. Works in windows now too.
no words can describe how thankful i am to you, i almost sent it in for repairs. I hope and pray you achieve everything u want in life.
Best way to have stable undervolt with low temps is to choose core clock and voltage u want to use for example 875mv at 1875mhz seems stable for me atleast so then u just put core clock all the way down in afterburner then open curve editor select 875mv point and drag it to 1875 mhz then press L and apply. So in the end im using about 50-70w less with around 2-3% performance loss but u can counter that performace loss by overcloking memory to 700mhz and u will get same performance as stock with way lower voltages.
this did nothing but completely destroy my system. not one single thing runs like this. not one game, obs has problems. davinci resolve has problems.. fallout 4 crashes every single time... just no.
sad to here it, the OC described in the video works on my Founders Edition in many scenarios. also, I doubt your system is actually destroryed, unstable yes, remove the overclock/undervolt and you're back to normal. i've had many crashes by undervolting too low in the past and never once destroyed anything.
@@Superior85 of course its not physically destroyed. it destroys ALL functionality. i dare you to try this with a VR headset... dont open your eyes.
@@Glassboxgames in the video I showed a +150 MHz offset, which could be on the high side, but it does work in many scenarios for me. i.e. didn't destroy all functionality. I don't remember having issues in Divinci Resolve like you have, but every GPU is different, not all can reach the same clocks at the same voltage. If I get to a point where an undervolt crashed for me, I wouldn't run around saying "it doesn't work!", I would lower the clocks or increase voltages till it did work...
your voice is too loud i cant hear the song
I know I'm late to the party but THANK YOU for the video. Been experiencing this issues for years with multiple controllers and multiple PCs.
I am having Z690 PG Riptide, I have to change BIOS back to 9.03 like you, the lastest 17.03 reduce my Cinbench R23 from 20K+ to 17K+
I have a Zotac 3060ti, modified into a single fan GPU. Before undervolting the fan was whining at 100% at 75-80°C during gaming, even with a fan curve. Now, it's a tolerable hum at 70% and about 65-70°C during gaming. My settings are: 1900mhz, 900mv, +500mhz Memory Clock, and down to about 120W
How do you find your desired voltage ? Is the 995 arbitrary?
Good but the key of stability its good motherboard, great efficient and stabiliti 12v section of power supply. My msi z trio lhr got 1785mhz with 800mv and oc vram 1000mhz 0performance difference about 65-70w less than stock. My next gpu probably 6950xt and undervolted about 2100mhz at 0.95mv maybe i think good efficient. Over 200watts only on gpu its too much for me.. heating, noises, and others. And not good for longlife gpu..
Hi. what kind of bluettoth do you use? I have generic usb 5.0 bluetooth dongle. I made the controller pair with bluetooth device manager, only once. But cant get to connect to pc via bluetooth afterwards. I did usb-cable firmware update recently but cannot make pc recognice the xbox series controller via bluetooth (i press the damn small button 3 seconds, and so on).
this undervolting is more stable than other undervolting tutorials. I achieved even better performance than stock GPU settings consuming 30w less. Getting 50°C in cyberpunk and mantaining 60°C of the VRAM is insane, cuz I was around 65°C at stock settings. basically 15°C less with even more fps. This is insane
65°C is not critical. My card in sotck setting got like 81°C with hotspot @ 91°C with undervolting and oc i got like 50°C in gaming...some games 64°C and hotspot is under 75°C wich is cool
6:45 me chilling with my 1660 super at a 875mv stock clock speeds.. max power draw is down from 125W to 93W and max temps from 78 to 65 and its completely stable
I did my 4070 Ti from 950 2490 MHz to 900 same speed and my power went down by a good 60 to 80 watts and temps came down 8 to 10 degrees.. the 4070 is a great card to under volt while keeping the stock speed MHz
Would this work with the 4070 Super?
Yea Method 2 definitely helps with "effective clock speeds" which is super beneficial.
