I'm not, the Camaro is better/same performance and half the price. New BMW's are overpriced if you're looking at just track performance.

Yeah, they even do their testing in colder conditions which should yield better times. I wish they posted data of ambient temperature/humidity, cloud coverage, time of day done during the test.

@@SpyderRacing thanks! Up state NY, not too far from Lime Rock Park, about 50 mins away. A lot of hidden gems in the area. When I can get my finances in check need to get back out there for sure. Did just under 1 minute with the car when I went to LRP a couple years ago. Stock just brake fluid. These cars have insane amount of pace.

Learned from you, I'm a lot more aggressive at trying to find pace now. Doesn't help when you only get 1 warmup session before TT.

Thank you, I originally bought the car as dual street/track purpose but there are no good roads near me so I never drive this on the street. Almost all the miles on it besides break in are track miles(12k now). I think as far as a 4 door sedan that is good on track you would be looking at one of the new M3's but they are so expensive compared to this car and not much faster in stock form.

Yeah there are a few turns like that. I actually think turn 1 is faster if I stay in 3rd and get on throttle more aggressive. Turn 5 through 9 in 3rd is not bad either but I do think 2nd is slightly faster out of 5. Then turn 3 you can do in both 3rd gear or 4th. Lot's of options, gearing is a bit longer with stock 20" wheels so in that case I think 2nd for turn 1, 3rd, for turn 3, 2nd for 5, and maybe even 3rd for turn 10 might be best.

@540chevhell9 thank you, that's a friend of mine in the supra, he was running tt2 that weekend but his car was still under development. His acceleration was faster to top speed than me but his car was still lacking top speed for a TT2 car.

I wouldn't even recommend changing suspension, the stock suspension is great for the track, especially on street tires. The only thing I recommend doing to start off is getting a track alignment with max negative camber up front you can get. Get castrol SRF brake fluid and you can even use stock brake pads to start off but then I would upgrade to DTC60 for the track.

@@griffinreid3627 the 1LE comes with "MRC" Magnetic ride control, so you can set the suspension softer(road use) or stiffer(track). Lots of information on the camaro6 forums. The difference from an SS to a 1LE are the suspension, wrapped hood, NPP exhaust, Lip aero in the back, brembo 6piston brakes/larger rotors, larger tires/wheels.

@@SpyderRacing so for the 1LE you don’t recommend really any other parts to help it corner better. Just tired and more aggressive stance. I still want to daily drive it that’s why I haven’t made the stance change. Don’t want to shred tires.

lol yeah trying to reduce the weight on hillclimbs is pretty important. Always try to minimize fuel on my faster attempts.

@southernstablesauto thanks, I'm not sure I understand everything you're saying as some of the acronyms are not familiar to me. I'm going to revert the car back to stock at the end of this year(and sell it) and go with a more track focused setup. Not sure exactly what yet.

She's a 1LE ...all theexpensive parts are already there....and don't let her hear you talking about her either....she has crazy-eye syndrome like most of the other girls who are fun to party with and you don't want a "rabbit in the pot" Glen Close moment where she knows yo're gonna dith her. Just sayin, sometimes we're surrounded by everything we need and we just don't see it for what it is. She seems plenty fast to me, now just smooth the rough edges:)

No issues at all, just oil changes, brake flush, rotor changes, pad changes, diff fluid, trans fluid for almost 3 years now. About 10k track miles.

@@SpyderRacing that's great to hear. how often are you changing trans fluid/diff fluid? Also have a 1LE.

@@klidijosifi7401 I am following the manual. It's 15 hours for the transmission and 24 for the diff. Trans fluid always comes out really clean so it's probably fine to do 24 hours for both. I think the oil is the most important. Brake fluid I'm only doing about twice per year (castrol SRF)

Thanks, maybe I just had the pressures a bit too low but I think the tires just need to be in the perfect temperature range to work well at west bend.

@mansooruddinahmed128 the track itself doesn't care. It depends what event you're going to and what rules they want to enforce. Some organizations would delete your lap for that, some won't.

​@user-sc3hw2ig6e yeah I think the most important part is the mic. I have a countryman b3 mic attached to a zoom H5 recorder. You could probably just hook the mic up to a gopro though and it would be just as good.

@Gchang54 the porsche has better power to weight, more downforce, faster gearbox, but it really shines in the braking zone. The advantage I had in the camaro this weekend was tires. The gt3 was on really worn 200TW tires. On equal tires the gt3 is probably 2 to 3 seconds faster if I had to guess. It's better than the camaro in every single metric except for $ to performance. So in a way the porsche beats the camaro hands down, until you realize the price difference, in which case it's hard to justify buying the porsche.

@@SpyderRacing thanks for your feedback, I have a bone stock 19' SS 1LE with a GM wickerbill extension on a 280tw tire. Just thinking to myself how it would do agaisnt a 991.x gt3, but there's still a good difference between the two.

@NengnengYu aim2 solo DL plugged into the OBD2 port. Not all cars put out this much data. If you have a camaro, then it will have everything I have here and more.

I did but it was wet so I'm not sure what it would run. The car can go a lot faster here and I plan on trying again this year. I was running really old R7's here and had not been introduced to A7's yet. If I had to guess I think the car can do 2:03's here on stock tires (just basing off how bad the R7's were and what I was able to do at VIR stock). I think with new A7's the car can go sub 2:00 just like VIR (that's the goal anyways).

Id say after you get the car lifted about 15 to 20 minutes per side if it's your first time. About 1.5 hours including everything? No idea, it takes me 3x longer to do everything when I video but I've done this so many times now it takes me like 5 minutes per side.

Yes, DSSV doesnt make the car faster in any way. Id argue it might make it very slightly slower on 200TW tires. DSSV is better for hoosier A7's though, can't use stock suspension for A7's(Unless you use the DSC controller maybe?). Car rotates nicely with square setup and max camber up front.

CRSV2's are the best 200TW tires I've used, they are a little faster than A052's and SC3's. It's not a day/night difference but they are faster by a little bit. But all 200TW tires are junk compared to Hoosier A7's. CRSV2's is probably slightly slower than Hoosier R7 and SC3R.

@@seanosborne SC3 is a really good tire, probably 1 second slower. Mainly because of the OEM 20" wheels being heavier overall.

It's a great event, there is plenty of time to find. Super Sport now runs as "Sport Max" but my car here was nowhere near the limit of the rules. I was on street tires and my car is stock powerwise. Id say there is about 3 seconds from tires alone and another 3 seconds from adding power and dropping weight.

I can only tell you that i've been using castrol SRF for over 2 years now without issues.
