Im sorry, I could say the same of my city, Barcelona, but all these neighbourhoods have their own charm. C'mon, Ive seen children in la Villette, not just sketchy guys, dont let the tourists miss all the péniches, Ok, Clichy and la Goute, and train stations, you have to be cautious, but like in Barcelona or London, Ive never been robbed in the worst places, so cant be the tourists. Just open your eyes, dont be dumb, act normal. You are spreading fear. And God knows that american tourists are super easy to scare. Merci beaucoup, Alain. I had planned a visit to Paris last year, but it didn’t work out. However, it’s our 30th wedding anniversary in October, and my wife demands we go to Paris! So, Paris it will be. We have only visited once, in 2019, and stayed at an Air BNB in Le vingtieme - Rue St. Blaise, near the Rue de Bagnolet. We weren’t far from Pere LaChaise Cemetoire, and the nearest metro stop was Gambetta. We enjoyed it, but it’s a bit ‘off the beaten track’. We’d like to stay somewhere more central this time. From your guide here, I like the look of the 7th Arrondissement. I’ve saved this video so I can watch it again later because I’ll forget your recommendations! I’ll also add some of your restaurant recommendations, so I can plan our trip. Good to read comments from other visitors as well. Thanks again, from Scotland.

Yes, you were really on the outskirts of Paris. I hope you have a great time in Paris in October and that Miss Doonan enjoys her 30th anniversary gift!

Thankyou, brilliant video. One question, how can I register in the app to buy a weekly pass without a french telephone number? It does not allow my country code . Thanks

Excellent video and some of the tips are easily applicable to other large European cities as well.

Surprised to see a diner in Paris wearing a baseball cap while dining. Here in the Northern US, unless you’re eating at McDonald’s (and even then!), you need to remove your cap to eat. It seems to be different in the South, at least at greasy barbecue places.

Yes, it can happen. Contrary to what one might think, Parisians are not very particular about people's clothing. You will easily find people wearing caps in restaurants or shops. On the other hand, in a church, it will be inappropriate.

I stayed in Montmartre and I had so much fun .I took Uber so that I wouldn’t be stressed out about pickpocketing. They are leeches in society
