Save the last dance for me, is a song thats a 1960's product. The songs and singers of that era hold fort to this day. Doc Nirmala's initiation to songs and singing stays true to songs of poignant pleas, loaded lyrics brilliantly sung, yet again. Usually a Waltz, the song still plays out as a last dance and to have the good Doc render it with her profound mastery of the pause and fadeaway, the song rings true, far longer than it lasts on air. Never the easiest of attempts when trying to emulate the one and only John Denver. And yet, Doc Nirmala makes it sound so easy. John Denver as usual embellished his songs with simple, visually rich and a haunting melody. This song could be a tribute to ones love lost / living. The music is so minimal, especially due to the strong and endearing vocal overlay. Revisiting a masterpiece is always daunting, but when a singer does this is by habit, it's a sign of exellence. Sing on Doc and light up our lives as always.
