- The song " The Best" is one of Tina Turner's most recognizable tunes and is often considered synonymous with her name. Written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight and first recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler in 1988 , it did not gain much recognition or popularity till Tina Turner's 1989 cover became a worldwide hit receiving a double platinum certification in the UK. It is interesting to know that the original version was modified prior to Tina Turner's recording ( on her request to the songwriters) ,so as to include the addition of a bridge and a key change. The song has remained extremely popular all these years and has been used as an anthem for the rugby league and for several advertisements.

What an amazing Redux of an excellent song. Sung originally by a resilient woman and emulated by another. An anthem of sorts.for women achievers.. Tina Turner was an inspiration and Doc Nirmala's befitting redux was anything but simple. The Octaves, the pauses, the tonal pitch and the music playing live makes the listener bedazzled. And it is no coincidence that this tribute was posted during the year of Tina Turner's demise. Easily the 'Best'!!!
