I have noticed lots of channels on RUclips have started to suddenly crop in and crop out while doing the head shot talking to camera bit. Like a sudden crash zoom...sometimes only a tiny bit ...sometimes more, but to me it's really annoying and I can't see why they do it. Also suddenly turning black & white ...or a slow zoom in and out . The worst of all is shaky cam ...all of it just distracts...

Happy New Year
And to you as well Mick
Happy new year to you. I noticed in the background you have a large Blakes 7 Liberator. Could you show this in a video and let us know where you got it from please?
Hi David...Happy New Year to you as well and well spotted ...I printed it about 5 years ago on my very 1st 3D printer. It was on "Thingyverse" (a site for 3D prints) as a set of parts ...but that exact one doesn't seem to be there anymore ...there is another so it is still possible if you want to print one See my other vids on 3D prints to see it in more detail. ....see other reply to your other post as well
Great liberator model in the background. Subscribed on that alone.
Прикольный мужик. Так дотошно рассказывает про все! Молодец
Thanks for that battleship...nice of you to say so
good for pole cleaning your windows , just the video i was looking for thanks .
Thasnks for the kind words...yes ideal for cleaning windows due to no mineral stains when it dries out.
Hi, sorry about the late hour I have a MG4 like yours, I just watched your video regarding the connection of the Dash Cam. I would like to ask you, if I don't use the 2Pin fuse adapter for the foreseeable future, can I still connect everything like you did? although I imagine it's not a job done properly... I'm telling you this because in the space of a week my car was all over the passenger side... so I decided to install the Dash. Could you tell me how I get power for sentry mode? Thank you in advance for all your understanding
Hi Davis... Not sure what you mean by "in the space of a week my car was all over the passenger side" But to answer your question you need a permanent live for the sentry mode and a switched live for the normal dashcam mode ...thse can be taken from any source where this applies ...the positions I picked just seemed the easiest.
Good morning Toms, Thanks for your comprehensive answer. I simply solved it by reversing the colors of the 2 wires, red and yellow Basically, I inserted the yellow wire into the 15a 3-pin light blue fuse, while I inserted the red wire into the 10a red fuse. Now, luckily for me, the sentry mode also works very well... Thanks again, happy holidays 2025
Hi, did this need RCD protection? I only have a spare on the non RCD side of the board. Can that be used with a 32a mcb?
Hi Lee I am not sure what the electrician wired it to.....thats why the vid only goes as far as me leaving the wire ready to connect to the fuse box as I am not a registered electrician so left that bit to him He did connect it to its own trip in the consumer unit...it has ROH132B/030* on it if that helps
@TomsManShed Thanks for the reply Tom 👍
Thinking of doing the same. Have octopus agile and we have a system boiler that feeds a mega flow tank. Original installer didn’t wire up the immersion element on the tank. So considering a smart fused spur from the consumer unit to the immersion and use cheaper periods to heat the water. Going to use home assistant which can automate it all when octopus agile is below a certain amount to switch on the immersion element to save heating water via the gas boiler. Seem like a good idea? Thanks Tom.
Hi Paul...yes that's a good idea ..I use mine regularly and its been perfect in all this time...it shows absolutely no signs of distress on the inside as i look every couple of months. I think any of the comments in the online reviews saying they burnt out was probably as they had used inadequate cable or joints. ...Like I say I used hefty cable and ferules on my install and its been great and the scheduling of it on the app or turning it on with Alexa is a great feature
Very informative andwered a lot of questions
Thanks Elise ...glad it helped
I have spent over £110 on individual models of rotary and foil type shavers in the past (Phillips and Braun) and they just wouldn't cut my facial hair properly! I ended up giving them away to family members. Yesterday as a present my Mum gave me a slightly different Silvercrest model for Christmas, and I thought it was nice but it wouldn't work. I tried it out anyway, and was shocked! It gave me a clean shave in literally under 2 minutes. I have no idea why the expensive, "better" models would not give me a clean shave, leaving patches that would not trim etc, while this model which is a lot cheaper works flawlessly. I won't have to wet shave now and will save a lot of time getting ready! Definitely impressed with it.
Thank you for this Tom! Keep it up.
Thanks for that tonerole ..I will do my best to
I think your description of Bresser as being on the lower rungs of the ladder a little unfair. I have a pair of 12 year old Bresser binoculars (from Iidl) and they are excellent.
Hi Evan...maybe I was ..prob should have said halfway up ladder...I have had a Bresser telescope (and tried some binos while in Lidl) and it was definitely behind my current scopes...but then it was also less than half the price so they are very good value. This microscope itself as shown and mentioned gives excellent images ...its only let down by its poor quality mount.
I bought one of these a few weeks ago. When i opened the box, a little Chinaman jumped out and hid in the wardrobe, haven't seen him since, i hope he's ok. Has this happened to anybody else ?
Hi Edward Wow...no I haven't had that happen you had better check he is ok...Merry Xmas and carry on enjoying the Xmas spirit :)
Season's Greetings to you Tom and wishing you health and happiness in 2025😊.
Thanks for that V and the same to you :)

Thanks Tocsin I appreciate that,,,Merry Xmas
Cheers Tom. Very informative. Im thinking of getting one shortly. 4 years old with 30,000 miles on it so itll be interesting to see how it has held up underneath. If I can manage to get under it!
Hi Mark...yes I think you will probably find it's the same as any other modern car...mine seemed ok ...I think it was just the odd one like any other make and the nay sayers jumping on the bandwagon....let us know in a fresh comment how it is ..(youtube doesnt let me know when I get a reply to a reply only new comments so I sometimes miss them)
I have been wondering about many of your video's relate to Lido products. Thus not all of your links are available in the US. Any suggestions? Merry Christmas.
Hi Dennis (hope its Dennis) Lido? :) ...yes I know it's a typo :) ...A huge proportion of my reviews are yes from Lidl as it has great value tools and gadgets with a 3 year warranty and it's my weekly shop supermarket anyway so I am always in there. As regards links ...there aren't any links to the Lidl products themselves as they don't have a full website as such to buy them online they are only available in store. Any links I give in the description are usually to an item I have bought off Amazon I don't know what to suggest really...I do watch 1 USA tool review site called Project Farm (a huge channel with 3,3 million subs) he gets a lot from Harbour Freight so don't know if that is a help. Merry Xmas.
Merry Christmas Tom, Happy New Year and here's to all the future interesting videos.
Thanks Paul Merry Chistmas to you too
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Tom. Thanks for all the videos in 2024
Thanks Arne yes "Ill be back" (sorry but couldn't resist :) ) in 2025 and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to you too
Merry Christmas to you Tom. I hope you have a lovely time. Looking forward to some MG4 videos! ❤ 🎄
Thanks Ant...hopefully ...have got one at least planned but not sure when it will be...Merry Christmas to you too
These budget microscopes really need light to produce good video/pictures
Hi Bob...yes that's true the built in leds are ok in certain positions but flexible moveable ones would be better,,,but then of course the price would increase and a bigger mount etc be required...a bright desk lamp is very handy
I have a bresser astronomical camera. For the money its quite good!!!
Hi Cornz ..yes Bresser stuff is good value like you say ...I mentioned in another reply I have had a Bresser scope in the past and it was ok,,,not as good as my current scopes but a fraction of the price and like you say much better than some of the low end "toys" ...this microscope as shown gives excellent image ...its only let done by its poor mount....in the new year I may have a go at printing a better one on my 3D printer and do a vid on it.
@@TomsManShed It's like Belkin or TP-Link. Cheap, functional and lets you experiment and play without spending big £$€.
Merry Christmas Tom and have a happy New Year. If you get a chance I might recommend you doing a shorts video summarising how you printed those middle finger gift boxes, I can imagine those being quite popular. Would be great to hear more thoughts from you and your family on good boardgames too. No pressure of course. Cheers for providing all the great content and being an all round top bloke.
Hi Ozzy...Thanks for the kind words it's made my day.....yes like you say those boxes have proved popular...I have had loads of family/friends ask about them (I don't do any prints for money just for gifts and swaps etc for chocolate/beer with friends) If you visit the "Makerworld" website you will find them with a search for "middle finger christmas present"...to credit the designer he is "majic723" I will have a think about doing a short about printing one and board game stuff...thanks again.
Merry Christmas Tom, thanks for all your great informative videos

Hi Tom...I also have the old version of the Silvercrest Rotary and mine is still going strong after 3 years, albeit the battery doesn't last quite as long. I did see the new model you have purchased there and was tempted with the extra features. However I went for the Sivercrest FOIL version they also have in stock right now and was VERY impressed. The motor sounds and feels MUCH more powerful than the rotary equivalent....and the shave is a lot closer. I have zero complaints about the older Silvercrest Rotary but the new FOIL version is far superior I think. I still might buy that new Rotary one to have as a backup as it also looks great in your video but I would highly recommend the foil one for the extra fiver (locally 25 euro here in Dublin, probably 20 Stg where you are). Well done on another excellent, detailed video and have a very great Christmas and a very smooth new year!
Hi Tim...Thanks for that will keep a look out for the foil version...not seen one yet in my Lidl...will get one and do a review if I do.
Great video cheers for that. 👍👍
Thanks Matt I appreciate that...Merry Xmas
@ you too mate 🎄🎄
SO it's best to start from the front, and fit the cable from there towards the back at which point the slack is 'hidden' in the boot door? Also appreciate the commitment, when you dubbed over the muted A-pillar removal part, you did include some humph noises to illustrate the effort to pull it off 😆
Hi Airbag ...yes thats just the way I did it (like I mention those little rod kits are well worth it ) ...there may be another way but from doing the same thing in my previous car a ZS EV it seemed the way to go. Yes that A pillar can be a pig ...the craziest bit I thought though on the MG4 was the fuse box access...its the only car I have ever had that I needed to remove a whole panel and not just a glove box or cover.
@@TomsManShed I think it is the first car I own where the fuse box is not at worse behind a single screw holding a trap door
Great Video 😅, thanks for Sharing. I love Distilled Water.
Thanks for that Charles Merry Xmas
Got a similar product by the same company. Very useful for somebody like me who hasn't used a torque wrench before.
Thanks for that Lee
Are sure its Bresser ?, im saying that because bresser makes fine telescopes and they most deff know the difference between zoom and focus mate, it sounds very Chinesey to me and maybe a rip off of the name.
Yes its definitely bresser...lidl often have their stuff with them being german....i wouldnt say their telescopes/binoculars are "fine".... astronomy is one of my hobbies and i have an observatory attached to the shed(See my vids on it) with some good scopes like a celestron 9.25 sct and William optics etc on a highend mesu mount the high end Bresser units are in the "mid range and good value for money" class but not near the top end for optics .. i have had their scopes (like a bresser messier) in the past and like i say are not high end optics.
Thorough review of the process Tom and very detailed , thx for sharing this. I think the service department has a contract with ups , to deliver all these returns at a bottom price , therefore its probably a lower priority for ups. I get your frustration when instructions arent read or followed. I Also think a lot of ppl wouldnt even bother starting the rma process because of all the hassle , and making video and sending out , for less tech savvy persons not an easy task
Hi ddjazz Thanks for the kind words...yes I think you are right ...alot of folk want bother doing all the taking pics etc ...especially if it nearly 3 years old and an inexpensive item ... at least it does work when needed .
Hi Tom, an organised friend of mine has an A-Z accordian-style expanding folder, in which he keeps all his user manuals (alphabetically by name) and staples the receipt to the booklet. Quite a good hack!
That's a great idea...i keep mine in a bag in a drawer with other receipts but have to sift through them all if I need one your friends idea is much better.
Great review - Merry x-mas 🎄
Thanks for that Arne ...Merry Xmas to you too
Many of these work fine on Android phones/tablets too, just need a USB OTG adapter and, depending on the phone, a camera app that supports USB webcams.
Thanks Mutaka that's good to know
Thanks Tom, a fair bit of kit for the money. I think those options are grayed out because either the camera hardware does not provide the means to adjust them or else a specific driver is needed and Windows just loaded a generic one.
Thanks for that...yes I think you are right...I may look for a driver after Xmas ...I will add it to the description if I do find one
Great review. Very interesting. Happy Christmas Tom🎉
Thanks Greg and Merry Christmas to you too
Another very thorough review Tom 👍
Thanks Tim
Hi Tom, did you ever get around to reviewing your weather station, please?😊 I couldn't find it in your video list?
Hi Vilebrequin...No that slipped through the net ...it seemed just 1 of hundreds of similar ones so never got round to it. I can say though that it is has worked brilliantly for all the time I have had it.
@TomsManShed thanks, Tom🙂. Enjoying your channel and no-nonsense approach, which is very refreshing. Have a great Christmas!
You too & thanks again
As a 3d printing newbie, thank you for showing the process of building the plates from a printables download with 50ish files! My only question is why are the plates not already arranged for download already? Seems like a step most people would want to skip?
Hi Shadow... Thanks for the thanks. In answer to your question I don't know ..you would have to ask the designer/uploader that but it will be that it was designed before the multi plate feature in Bambu Studio Slicer.....some people might want to put different parts on different plates It would need someone to upload their version with all the parts on their respective plates into Makerworld for it to be downloadable already set out etc
. Thanks Tom 👍 Yeah, the old tubes get duller as they age. Dust, dirt, cobwebs etc reduce the light. .
. Where Did You Get your Lux Numbers From Tom? .
Hi Mike ...Just from my light meter as shown at 14:43 measuring the old tube and at 16:59 measuring the new unit....it was placed in exactly the same place under the light. It doesn't measure lumens (I think you have to have a controlled environment to give comparison readings) I am no expert and dare say its not totally accurate but I read that a lux is a good way of comparing lights like this as its a measure of light over a certain area (1 lux = 1 lumen over a square meter) The fluorescent would definitely have been brighter when it was new but again they do lose brightness over time quicker than LEDS's
Just discovered your channel, Tom. Really useful info, well presented and very clear. Thank you. Just invested in an oil-filled radiator as working from home in a cold kitchen, so hopefully this will make life more comfortable without breaking the bank. Thanks again for the great videos. Merry Christmas to you, and a happy, healthy New Year😊.
Thanks for the kind words I really appreciate it...yes I love mine here in the shed....as mentioned in the vid they do take longer to initially warm up than a fan heater but retain the heat better (the bigger and more fins the better) and are totally silent...I love mine here in the man shed :)
@@TomsManShedit would perhaps also have been interesting to note how long the oil filled radiators carry on emitting heat after switching off (while cooling down); another added benefit😊
I didn't time it or show it but after final turn off they "feel" colder after about 10-15 mins. They will of course just cool down to the existing room temperature at that time and depending how well the room is insulated will then continue to slowly drop. This doesn't sound long but a fan heater would cool immediatly ....Like I say the hot oil will keep them warm for a while but nothing like as long as a proper old storage heater full of firebricks which stayed warm for hours.
Hello, it often happens that the car writes a key loading error and the alarm goes off after opening the door. I changed the battery in the key, but after a month the alarm sounds again.
Hi zednek...not sure what can be causing that you will probably have to ask the dealer...although if it is software related and they are like my dealer they don't usually have a clue...hope you get it sorted.
. All That Trouble and Expense, And afterwards LED Tubes Are Not That Much Cheaper To Run. 48 Pence / Unit Time Against a Quid / Unit Time. I Just Don't Get It. .l
Hi Mike I disagree......it cost me £14.20 for the TWIN 4ft LED unit with a consumption of 43w The old 40w single tube was pretty dim as shown in the vid (76.2 lux) compared to the new LED ones (300 lux) If I had used just a single tube it would have been still been brighter and used only 22w. A new single 4ft fluorescent tube on Amazon inc post is £18 so actually dearer....none of them state the actual light output in lumens And like you say the LED's are HALF the price to run. So a my new LED one is cheaper to buy , brighter and half as much to run AND has a much longer lifespan If your existing fluorescent tube is bright enough and working then that's fine but when it needs replacing I cant see why anyone would stick with flourescent. "All that trouble"...it was a dead easy fit....in fact they do direct replacement LED "tubes" that fit the same unit so are exactly the same to replace.
Nice video! I have a quick question, is there a way to see hiw much money you are spending? I noticed it shows you how much kilo watts you are using per hr/day, month etc. But it don't show the actual cost in pence or pounds. Thanks
Hi Pony...yes ...I answered this in the reply to the comment from "MrJohnthompson2008" below.....have cut and pasted it here ...hope it helps .yes from the main screen click "show more" in the blue bar halfway down the screen.....then at the top there is "energy usage" and "power" ...click energy usage and just below "bill of this month" and the GBP there is a little pen symbol ...click this and you can select "singular billing" or "periodic billing" then click Next. You then have to tell it how much your electric costs per Kw/hr as it obviously doesn't know what tarrif you are on ...if you are on the same rate all day click singular billing...if you are on cheaper at night (like me on Octopus Go) click periodic billing and fill in the price there. So a price of 30p per kw/hr you will enter as 0.3 GBP (my day rate) and 7.5p per kw/hr would be entered as 0.075 GBP...my cheap rate..(.but it rounds it up to .08) Set the hours of peak and off peak as well...when you click the circular dials saying weekdays and weekends you click all the bars in each (unfortunately you cant select half hours which is a shame as my cheap rate is from 11.30 pm to 5.30 am) column then the colour at the top so off peak is green and peak is red (mid peak blue not applicable to me) Then when you go back to the "dials" they should show green an red segments. Finally press "sync bill to all devices" at the bottom to tell all your plugs the rate It will then display how much a session has cost. Hope this helps. PS all this is on the software I have on my plugs...if you are on a different version screens may be different.
Thank you so much for this. Really useful

Its called something like "the good Start Rescue vs the bad and the ugly RAC" It chronicles my experience with "Start Rescue" ...after this terrible rac experience i joined myself and my daughter in Start Rescue due to it having good reviews...shortly after my daughter broke down ,(,broken drive shaft) on a roundabout at peak traffic time....they were brilliant..phone answered by caring person...regular updates and her car was being towed away 2 hours after phone call Full story in vid ...i dont know if its always as good but this first experience was excellent
cheers for the video, i nearly bought one thinking the pandas looked like they did in the photos edit.. i might still buy one... i like pandas.
Hi Numbertwo22 Yes the case is not great as cases go....very basic..BUT I just loved the way it looked...I don't normally like "cuddly" stuff but there was something about this case that I just had to have it...the colours...the OMG and the Pandas :)
@@TomsManShed i find choosing a new case such a hard thing to do, none have everything i want, some are too similar to what ive got, some have pandas XD
